Nashville Nights UK: Past, Present & Future Events

“Bringing country music fans together to party to the music they love"

On the eve of another Live London event, Country Routes News takes a look at the Nashville Nights UK club nights which have brought the “spirit” of Nashville back to the UK with events right across the country!

What Happens at Nashville Nights?
Basically, it's a lively evening enjoying the best in New Country music from the USA.  Over 18's only please and there's no dress code.  Every venue will have a guest Country Music DJ, is fully licensed and Team Cocktail Merchandise will be available to purchase at all events.























Friday 12th May 2017 – LONDON, Under The Bridge, Chelsea (Stamford Bridge, Fulham Road, London SW6 1HS)
Live Act: Liv Austen 9pm
Guest DJ – DJ Quinn (Michael Williams) 10pm – 2 am: Quinn is a London local and a big country music fan (favourite artists include Jason Aldean, Eric Chruch & Maren Morris!). It was announced he will be making his Nashville Nights debut at Under The Bridge.

Norwegian singer/songwriter Liv Austen grew up in a musical home and sang from a very early age. As a teenager she started writing her own songs, and in August 2014 she released her first record, the four track EP "Workin' Man's Dream".  
Austen started gaining momentum and received praise from other musicians and bands, and the music received rave reviews from blogs and music websites. In 2017, Liv signed her first recording and publishing deal with NUA Entertainment run by Paul Hardcastle, and is currently working on an album. See her profile feature in this April 2016 BLOG POST


Back in January 2016 in the words of Nashville Nights UK co-founder and Events Director Janine Lambert:
It’s the hottest place to dance the night away to your favourite new country hits straight from the Country Billboard Chart in the USA! We love country music, it's that simple..We love dancing to country music, singing along to country music, having a drink and socialising to country music and there was nowhere we could go to do this, no bar or nightclub anywhere that just played the best in NEW Country music from the USA Country music charts, the music we wanted to hear.... We'd been to Nashville, we enjoyed the honkeytonks, the atmosphere, the country music blasting out from every bar and club on Broadway...we wanted to bring the spirit of Nashville back to the UK.














The organizers of Nashville Nights, who run club nights designed for fans of country music, announced that they would take their unique brand of party across the UK right through 2016. Most of the events have been at Under The Bridge in London, with DJ Baylen Leonard (BBC Radio 2, Amazing Radio) providing the soundtrack. Many of the artists on the playlist are familiar to those who have attended London’s Country to Country (C2C) festivals.  

Fans are also encouraged to request their favourite songs via social media, using the hashtag #NashNightsUK.

Details: The Nashville Nights Launch Party at the swanky Under The Bridge Club in London's SW6. The venue is award-winning with a, 550 capacity venue.

Specialist Country Music DJ Baylen Leonard (BBC Radio 2 & Formerly Amazing Radio) was the guest DJ for the evening keeping fans going until the early hours!  Baylen was at the official C2C launch & social events, he was also the DJ for 2015 & the 2016 C2C official after parties.
DJ playlist included: LBT's "Girl Crush", Miranda Lambert's "Mama’s Broken Heart" & "Little Red Wagon", Luke Bryan "Shake it For Me", Chris Stapleton "Tennessee Whiskey" , Striking Matches "Trouble Is", Carrie Underwood

UK Internet station 2Country.net Radio (Website) got onboard with sponsorship.

But as we arrived, and I took off my leather jacket (which is burgundy and matches the detail on my newest cowboy boots if anyone’s looking closely enough) something happened. After years of going through the motions of sipping and shimmying at one friend or another’s birthday bash at one interchangeable nightspot or another, I finally knew what it felt like to walk into a club and think;
“Oh my God, this is my song, I’ve been listening to the radio all night long, Sittin’ ’round waitin’ for it to come on, And here it is…”*.....We, the kindred spirits, had found each other, in a basement club in Chelsea’s football ground of all places. The blurb had said cowboy boots were NOT a must, but we’d obviously all missed that part…..  My personal highlight was the trepidation on the males’ faces as a sea of women (who probably made up at least 70% of the crowd) roared along to Before He Cheats with the vigour usually reserved for our bedrooms with hairbrush microphones in hand....Read More Brits In Boots

Holloway Road Surprise Fans With Set At London's Nashville Nights Club + Announce New Single
The Essex country-pop duo took to the stage at Under The Bridge for a spontaneous live set, including new single 'Good Thing Gone Bad'

The crowd were told a 'secret act' would be performing during the evening, and after a few hours of DJ Baylen Leonard playing a great mix of classics and chart hits, UK country duo Holloway Road took to the stage at 11:30pm for their second gig of the night, having just driven across town from a support slot for Jess & The Bandits. With a stripped-back five-piece setup led by acoustic guitar, the band opened with 'Truck' and played a half-hour set including songs from both their EPs and a cover of 'Ring of Fire'. The audience response was fantastic, with fans taking to Twitter & Instagram to post pictures and videos of the impromptu performance. As the lively set drew to a close, the rest of the band walked off leaving just Jack & Rob onstage, who went on to announce that the song they were finishing the set with would also be their next single - 'Good Thing Gone Bad'.

Review: I listen to Chris Radio all the time and it's great but Nashville nights at Birmingham was poor , the music he played was ok but never really played any songs from the country charts , he played 1 Miranda lambert song , not one Keith urban , no Thomas Rhett , no brandy Clarke , no Kacey Musgraves , no Chris Stapleton , I wouldn't mind but they had a song request list which he took no notice of and when we asked him why he just said I have played some on the list and walked away - Country music is so diverse but it seemed as though he was just set on playing bro country. The crowd got more excited over Shania Twain and Dolly Parton than any other song as everything else blended into a hard rock bro country blur.

London-based musician Kaity Rae kicked off proceedings with her wonderful brand of infectious, easy-on-the-ear pop-country. She graced the stage with great confidence and gave a very accomplished performance for the Nash Nights audience who are notoriously difficult to engage. A couple of songs into her set, you could see the dance floor filling up with people really appreciating her talent and catchy melodies…. Soon after, the Nashville Nights DJ cranked up the volume for 4 hours of fan requests, country anthems and even some brand-new tracks, hot off the press! …The interactive board always proves popular; people sending in their selfies to #nashnightsuk just to get their face on the screen never gets tiresome…it’s the little things! It turns the place into selfie capital. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who had plenty of, let’s say, ‘forgettable’ footage to delete from my phone on Saturday morning. What happens at Nashville Nights stays at Nashville Nights!! It was great to see so many familiar faces there, including Dawson Reigns and his band who had just arrived from their London gig.
