London based, American-Israeli duo O&O’s debut single ‘Traveling’ (UK iTunes) was one of the highlights of the UK’s homegrown country/Americana scene in 2017, with support across the media, from inclusion on Chris Country’s new music list (Chris Country Radio) to the ‘Best of August’ playlist by Richer Unsigned. 

Having grown their fanbase further through a summer of live appearances and online videos, racking up thousands of followers and over 100,000 views on their YouTube channel in the process, the duo returned on January 26th 2018 with their brand new single ‘Some Days’.

C2C 2018 Country To Country Festival Stage acts announced

Inspired to write the song during a month-long stay in Nashville - where they performed at multiple venues including the legendary Bluebird Cafe - Orian and Obadiah returned to England to record the single in Liverpool, the city where they originally met.

 In their own words: 

“Being a couple, as well as musical partners, of course inspires many love songs, and in this case, a song about the more challenging moments in a relationship. ’Some Days’ was recorded over three, intense days and the lyrics were being tweaked right up until we recorded the vocals.”

ABOUT O&O:

Origin: USA & Israel | Location: London | Genre: Americana/Country

O&O are comprised of Colorado-native, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, Obadiah Jones, and Israeli vocalist, Orian Peled. “The shared dream of a career in music led us both halfway across the world to the classrooms of Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), where we met for the first time.” While performing together in various projects during their three-year course, O&O established their deep connection as a songwriting partnership and were awarded the unique opportunity of a one-on-one songwriting session with Sir Paul himself: "Writing with Paul McCartney was an amazing experience. During the session, he started to harmonise on one of our songs, and hearing our three voices together was completely surreal - we could barely comprehend that we were actually singing with Paul McCartney!"

“Upon graduating and with student visa expiration dates looming, we knew there would be no country where we could both live and work together,” Obadiah recalls. Determined to overcome the bureaucracy, they found an unlikely solution – to live and perform on cruise ships. A six-month stint in the Caribbean ultimately led them on a two-year journey, performing for thousands, honing their distinct sound and learning their craft, while touring far reaching parts of the world, from Alaska to the Greek Isles.

This long and winding road led the truly international act to their current home, London, where they hope to become a mainstay in the fast-growing Country and Americana music scene in the UK. Although relatively new to the London scene, O&O have already made their presence felt on the local live music circuit over the last twelve months, with support slots for artists including Australian Music Award nominees, the Germein Sisters, and a number of club and festival appearances. Their live show features the duo's distinctive, close-harmony sound with an Americana flare - Fleetwood Mac meets The Civil Wars.

Their self-released debut single ‘Traveling’ - with the “perfect harmonies” praised by sites such as The Daily Country and Building Our Own Nashville (Introducing Country Music duo O&O), showed all the signs of early success, with support across the British music scene, while proceeds from the single and donations raised during a series of pop-up concerts in collaboration with Busk In London and Network Rail went towards raising awareness of national charity Youth Music and its music-making projects for children and young people experiencing challenging circumstances.

Follow up single ‘Some Days’ was released to  stream/download on 26th January 2018.

Imelda was nominated for International Artist of the Year with the winner announced during the ceremony, held at Hackney Empire on Thursday 1 February, tickets available here. Produced by Cam Blackwood at ICP Studios in Brussels, ‘Call Me’ is a brand new recording of a track taken from Imelda’s breakthrough album ‘Life. Love. Flesh. Blood’, which is one of the Top 5 best-selling British Female Albums of 2017.

“I wrote ‘Call Me’ about the horrible time when you are willing the phone to ring, begging for the name to pop up, and it doesn’t,”says Imelda of the song. “I’ve always though it could work as a duet, and I think Jack totally nails his vocal. There’s so much longing in his voice, and there’s a truth to it too.”

Jack Savoretti says, “Recording this duet with Imelda and Cam was one of the best experiences I have ever had in a recording studio. The song is amazing and I am proud to be part of this.”

CMA SONGWRITERS SERIES

The fifth CMA Songwriters Series, returning to indigo at The O2 on Thursday 8 March, will be hosted by celebrated songwriter Brett James (“Jesus, Take The Wheel” (Carrie Underwood), “Out Last Night” (Kenny Chesney), number One hits for Jessica Andrews, Martina McBride, Kenny Chesney, Rodney Atkins, and Jason Aldean).

He will be joined by a host of songwriters and performers to celebrate the art of storytelling through song, including Luke Combs, Nicolle Galyon (she earned her first #1 song with We Were Us performed by Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert, along with cowriters Miranda Lambert and Natalie Hemby Galyon won 2015 ACM's 'Song of the Year', and the 2014 CMA's single of the year for the Miranda Lambert performed hit song Automatic; other cuts recorded by RaeLynn, Dan + Shay, Kenny Chesney, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum, and Thomas Rhett), Natalie Hemby (accumulated five #1 Billboard singles, Hemby's cuts include "White Liar" and "Only Prettier" by Miranda Lambert, "Pontoon" and "Tornado" by Little Big Town, "Drinks After Work" by Toby Keith and "Automatic" by Miranda Lambert.) and Kip Moore.

Country to Country will officially kick off at 1.30pm on Friday 9 March 2018 and 10.00am on Saturday and Sunday when the Town Square opens and the first Festival Stage artists start.

C2C TICKET HOLDERS

C2C ticket holders are invited to enjoy any of the Festival Stages across the weekend, subject to capacity. This includes C2C Late Night Stage (Building Six); BBC Radio 2 Stage (indigo at The O2); Country Music Week Hub and The Saloon (All Bar One) and C2C Sessions (NY-LON). In addition to the Official Aftershows, C2C hosts a series of late night stages. Entertaining crowds into the evening this year are LANCO, Russell Dickerson, Lindsay Ell, Mo Pitney, Delta Rae and Ryan Kinder.

New for 2018, fans have the chance to get up close to the newest UK and Irish country names making a big impact on these shores. The C2C Close Up Stage in Building Six will reveal the backstory and future plans of some of the most promising UK and Irish acts, with intimate performances from Catherine McGrath, Andy Brown, Una Healy, Twinnie, Liv Austen, Katy Hurt and Jake Morrell.

NON-TICKET HOLDERS

Non-ticket holders are also able to access these stages with a Festival wristband which can be purchased for £10 via https://tickets.axs.com. 

Last year a 2017 wristband could be easily purchased the week before the festival. It was also valid for all three days, so you DO NOT need to buy a wristband for each of the days. You will receive a second e-mail with your e-tickets attached. Once you receive it, simply open the attachment, print the e-tickets and present them on the date of the event. 
E-Tickets will be sent out no later than 14-days prior to the event. 
Present the E-Ticket at the kiosk near to the O2 Main Stage to obtain your wristband.

Confirmation for 2018: One £10 wristband is valid for all three days of the festival

Lots of folks asking about wristbands (for non-ticket holders) - one £10 wristband is valid for all three days of the festival (regardless of the day it says on your booking/axs website). They will also be available to buy at the event.

All visitors to The O2 can enjoy entertainment from the free stages, which include Town Square Stage, the Big Entrance Stage and Club WM. Fans should also expect surprise artist announcements across the weekend, details of which will be revealed on the C2C app. The app features stage times, artist info plus notifications about signings, competitions, secret performances and more.

CMA Presents Screenings in the Cinema

CMA and Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp. (NCVC) will have screenings on Saturday (March 10) and Sunday at Cineworld at The O2, including BBC Music: Country Music Awards 2017: Highlights, which sees Bob Harris introduce highlights of The 51st Annual CMA Awards from Nashville, Tennessee.

NCVC will show It All Begins With A Song: a film about one of the most important and unknown, forces in music: The Nashville Songwriter.

BBC Radio 2 Stage

There will be a BBC Radio 2 Stage at C2C 2018 which will feature High Valley’s only London performance on the Friday. Other performers include:

Ashley Campbell, Ashley McBryde, Catherine McGrath, Danielle Bradbery, Delta Rae, Jillian Jacqueline, LANCO, Levi Hummon, Lindsay Ell, Mo Pitney, Morgan Evans, Russell Dickerson, Ryan Hurd, Walker Hayes and The Wandering Hearts.

BBC Radio 2 will broadcast live from C2C on Friday 9th March from 8-11pm. The radio station will also be recording the Saturday and Sunday concerts, for broadcast on Bob Harris Country on 15th, 22nd and 29th March from 7pm. These programmes will include performance highlights and backstage interviews with the performers.
