up with some of the biggest stars in music today, the duets album features Lauren

McBryde, Carly Pearce, Ben Rector, and Lainey Wilson.
The Country chart-topper re-records her biggest hits collaborating alongside
new voices on each track.
The
first of eight duets dropped on March 29 with “Better Things To Do”
(featuring Ashley McBryde), as the powerhouse duo teams up to re-imagine
the 1995 breakthrough hit. Clark’s legacy continues to bolster her legendary
status in Country music as she rewinds the clock to visit the iconic eight
tracks that all reached Top Ten status on the Country charts at the time of
their release. Listen to “Better Things To Do” HERE.(Preferred Platform).
Official
Audio:
“These
songs very literally changed my life,” shared Clark. “To now have the
chance to say thank you by giving them a new life with some of the hottest
artists in music has been one of the most soul-fulfilling experiences of my
career. We began working on these duet
versions over a year ago and the time has come when I finally get to share them
with all of you.”
Terri
Clark: Take Two is the next chapter in Terri’s long history of successes and
accolades. After releasing her self-titled debut album in 1995, resulting in
three Top 10 Country hits and achieving platinum status, she went on to sell
over five million albums and release thirteen Top 10 singles. The Medicine Hat,
Alberta, Canada native worked her way from the ground up starting her career in
Nashville at 18 years old, eventually becoming globally recognized and beloved
for her guitar-slinger capabilities and prolific songwriter prowess.
Clark’s
legacy has laid major influence for today’s hottest stars. “Better Things To
Do” marks the beginning of an exciting journey through her chart-topping
discography, highlighting her contributions to the genre.
Joined on today’s release with McBryde on a
fresh version of “Better Things To Do,” their mutual admiration radiates
listeners’ speakers in a spotlighting performance that highlights the defining
characteristics of each talent.
With an additional kick to the honky-tonk
anthem through its new-era production, the familiar melody leans into an
irresistibly crisp pop of rhythm as the vocals soar individually while
confidently gliding into harmony together to lock you into a full appreciation
of the debut single that kick-started it all, going on to reach No. 3 at
Country radio as the lead single on her RIAA certified Platinum debut album,
Terri Clark.
“The
overwhelming feelings of nostalgia this project has brought up for me all came
while standing beside some of the greatest acts in the business,” added
Clark. “Hearing them sing these songs that I’ve been singing night after night
for so many years has been inspiring, humbling, and surreal. The bonuses were
the conversations in between recordings and getting to hear them tell me they
grew up listening to my music with posters of me on their walls. They knew my
songs even better than I did….it was a full-circle moment I’ll never forget.”

When I walk inside the Ryman, I hear Hank’s twang, the dulcet tones of Patsy, and am lifted by Lorretta’s voice. It is one of the rare, truly iconic venues that has become not just a dream gig for artists of any genre – it is a goal. I'm so excited to share that I'll be playing… pic.twitter.com/FcDSb9pYwl
“The Ryman auditorium holds a special significance for every
country singer on the planet and I’m no exception,” shares
Clark.
“It’s not just a
structure to me. I walk inside and while I can see the pews and the
stained glass – they barely register.
Instead, I hear Hank’s twang, the
dulcet tones of Patsy, and am lifted by Lorretta’s voice. It is one of
the rare, truly iconic venues that has become not just a dream gig for artists
of any genre – it is a goal.
No matter who you are, when you step on the stage
inside the Mother Church, you’re praying to the Gods of country music for just
a little extra grace that night. The sound in the Ryman is unparalleled. We’ll
have a few surprises and will be pulling out all the stops to ensure this is a
night to remember for everyone – no matter if you’re on the stage or sitting in
the pews under the glow of the stained glass.”

Nashville, TN (2024) – Young Country
traditionalist Alex Miller’s EP, MY DADDY’S DAD,
is now available.
Produced by Jerry Salley for Billy Jam Records, the five-song
collection runs the gamut from rowdy to romantic. This is the pair’s third
outing together and is notable for its musical reach and the companionable
sense the two bring to the studio. The EP is now available to STREAM, is dedicated to GB Miller, Alex’s late grandfather,
who passed away in 2022.
MY DADDY’S DAD opens with the Chesney-esque “She
Makes Dirt Look Good” – a fun nod to all the 4-H and FFAers with a play
on words that is bound to surprise. Fiddle and steel offer a counterpoint and
keep this hooky up-tempo moving apace. “Oh, Odessa” follows,
painting a picture of the classic “Western” era as it tells the story of a dust
devil angel leaving home and sweetheart behind. Miller’s longing-filled tenor
is the highlight of this slow dance tune. “The Last House In God’s
Country,” is based on Miller’s grandparents’ farm – where he was raised
on 800 heaven-sent acres of fields and fence lines. A solid mid-tempo, Miller’s
love for his family and farm are obvious here. “Ain’t Ever Saying Never”
reflects on missed chances at love in a punchy, groove-oriented track that
posits that people can change.

The EP closes with “My Daddy’s Dad” a tune written
by Alex in tribute to his late Grandpa GB Miller. “He
meant so much to me,” Alex notes. “As Grandma Nana says, ‘it’s not a
song about him it’s just him in a song.’ He inspired me to pursue
Country music as my career,” Miller recalls. “He’d have this record blaring
from his tractor’s stereo – I hope it finds its way to yours.”
The project features Nashville’s finest musicians: Jenee
Fleenor (Fiddle), Gary Primm (Keyboards), Mike
Johnson (Steel Guitar), Kerry Marx (Acoustic Guitar /
tracks 1, 2, 3), Joel Key (Acoustic Guitar / tracks 4,
5), James Mitchell (Electric Guitar), Steve Brewster (Drums)
and Kevin Grantt (Bass).

Fans love his engaging onstage presence, and the media loves his
quick wit and humble attitude. After finding national fame as a competitor
on American Idol Season 19, life totally changed for this
Kentucky-born singer/songwriter.
Alex was the Texas Roadhouse Artist of the Month (October
2021), and he performed a duet with Rhonda Vincent at the Lee Greenwood
All-Star Salute the following month.
His debut album, MILLER TIME (Billy Jam Records, April
2022), delivered three well-received singles: “I’m Over You, So Get Over Me,”
“Don’t Let The Barn Door Hit Ya” and “Through With You” (which took Alex to the
Top 35 of the Billboard Indicator Chart, and reached #1 on THE COUNTRY NETWORK
with its companion music video).
In October 2023, Miller released his five-song EP, COUNTRY (Billy
Jam Records). Three hit singles followed: “When God Made The South,” “Girl, I
Know A Guy,” and the current charting single, “Puttin’ Up Hay.” Miller
joined CMR Nashville, Europe’s #1 Country Music Radio Station, to
guest host MILLER TIME, a monthly, one-hour curated program that ran through
2023.
Also last year, Alex was awarded the AMERICAN FFA Degree for
excellence.
In addition to touring, Alex is focused on his songwriting,
penning tunes with hitmakers Kent Blazy, Jerry Salley, Byron Hill, Wood Newton,
Bill Whyte, Josh Shilling, Kirsti Manna, and Emily Ann Roberts. Standing 6’ 6”
Alex commands attention wherever he goes – and this year, he is seemingly going
everywhere.

During
his "Video of the Year" acceptance speech for "Need a
Favor", viewable HERE (Instagram Reel), Jelly Roll stated: "Billy
Bob Thornton just gave me my third trophy of the night, y'all. Cody Johnson,
I'm not gonna tell you anything up here that I wouldn't tell you on the phone,
but I love you brother. You are my favorite cowboy for ever and ever and ever
and one of my best friends in the business. I love you. Kelsea Ballerini, you
know what I think of you too, girl. You go baby! I want to thank my manager
John Meneilly. I want to thank my publicist, Jennifer Vessio. I want to thank
my label Stoney Creek. I want to thank country radio. I want to thank everybody
who had anything to do with this. Jon Loba, I love you. I love you so much. My
beautiful wife, Ms. Bunnie DeFord. I am blessed to have you as a best friend. I
am blessed to have you as a partner. You find beauty in broken things and I
love you. I'm fixing to come back out on this stage and set it on fire! It's
going down! Gayle King, I'm gonna be a little late in the morning cause we're
gonna party Austin. Let's go!"
Lainey Wilson: Credit: Photo by Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images for CMT
In her "Female Video of the Year"
acceptance speech for "Watermelon Moonshine," viewable HERE, Lainey Wilson shared:
"My heart is beating out of my chest. I'm not even gonna lie. I just
want to say, first of all, every single girl that was in this category, all of
them are dear friends. They work their tails off and they just dedicate their
life to creating music and creating this vision and bringing it to life. I am
so honored to be a part of this category. It's really unreal watching these
girls do what they do. I am pretty sure all of them would let me say thank you
so much from the bottom of our hearts for supporting women in country. It's a
big dang deal! Thank you so much. 'Watermelon Moonshine' is about that young,
wild, crazy love --- a time in your life when nothing else mattered. It takes
you back to that certain time, that place, that smell, that sound --- that's
what country music is right there. It's just about telling a story and thank
y'all so much for letting me do that with this video. God bless y'all."
Carly Pearce and Chris Stapleton
won Collaborative Video Of The Year for their song, “We Don’t
Fight Anymore.” She thanked Stapleton, who wasn’t in attendance, and “Fans,
fans, fans, fans, fans!”
The
legendary Trisha Yearwood received a
special honour receiving the inaugural "June Carter Cash Humanitarian
Award", which "recognizes an artist, duo/group or industry
veteran who demonstrates an exceptional dedication to the community and their
fellow artists as Cash did." Actress and friend of Carter Cash, Jane
Seymour, presented the award.
TV RATINGS: Idol Slayer: The 2024 CMT Music Awards, which
aired April 7 on CBS drew
a 0.68 rating among Adults 18-49, off slightly from last year's 0.7, according
to TVRatingsGuide. The show drew 5.38 million viewers and helped
CBS win the evening, with the awards show topping American Idol's 4.36m
viewers on ABC and the 1.26m viewers of NBC's repeat of The Voice. By comparison,
last fall's CMA Awards drew
6.61m viewers on ABC.
HOSTING:
Kelsea Ballerini hosted the awards for fourth
time in a row,
opening with a comedic sketch about reading the minds of country music’s
biggest names that ended with Keith Urban hugging the beaver mascot of beloved
Texas gas station chain Buc-ee’s.
Her
many outfit changes were only the first of a few surprises, which also included
Melissa Etheridge appearing on a duet of “Come to My Window” with Ballerini.
Kelsea
shared, "It's my fourth year hosting, so I feel like I've learned a
lot. And the good thing about CMTs is there's such a light energy, so there's
not a pressure that I feel to be perfect. I just want to be fun, honor the
night and help people have a good time."
She
also described the night feeling like "a big reunion" with her
friends in the country music community and even teased she may have some
surprises in store. "I might just ask for some help where I can get it,"
the "Half of My Hometown" singer noted.
Kelsea
also announced she was done hosting the CMT Music Awards toward the end of
Sunday night's (April 7) show in Texas. Ballerini put her two-weeks' notice in
at the end of the show. She made clear she wouldn't be back, and that kind of
thing just doesn't seem to happen on these stages.
The
move was not a knee-jerk reaction to anything that happened during Sunday
night's show or the build up to it. Talking to Variety ahead of time, she
shared that hosting the CMT Music Awards for four years pushed her outside her
comfort zone into new professional realms. She's simply ready to do that again
in different ways….Read More:
