Country Album Billboard Top 200 Chart News June 7, 2012
John Mayer's BORN AND RAISED holds at #1 for the second straight week.
Carrie Underwood's BLOWN AWAY drops from #3 to #6 on the Top 200 in its fifth week on the chart. It sold another 32,000 copies and remains the #1 Billboard Country album for a fifth consecutive week. At 517K total sales Carrie passes the Gold mark. The album’s lead single from the album, “Good Girl,” hit #1 on the radio charts this week as well and she won Video of the Year for it at this weeks CMT Awards.
Luke Bryan's TAILGATES & TANLINES jumps from #15 to #9 in its 43rd week on the chart with sales of 24K ( weekly increase of 18%) and is the #2 Country album.
Lionel Richie's TUSKEGEE drops from #6 to #10 in its 10th week on the chart (22K sales, down 35%). The former #1 album has been in the top 10 the entire time.
Eric Church’s CHIEF stands at sits at 14 this week a rise of 13 places on the Top 200.
Johnny Cash sits at #27 on the Top 200 (#6 Country) with debut sales of the OPUS COLLECTION: THE 80TH ANNIVERSARY shifting 11,000 copies. Tracklisting on www.starbucksstore.com
At #6 on Country Albums chart is Kip Moore. His weekly 10k sales of UP ALL NIGHT takes him past the 100k mark (105K tally).
Wade Bowen debuts on the Top 200 at #43 and with sales of 9,000 copies for his album GIVEN the Waco Texas Country/Red Dirt singer has this weeks number 9 best selling Billboard Country album.
Bowen was a member of the band, West 84, with friend Matt Miller, before the band was re-aligned 2001. He released his first album in 2002, TRY NOT TO LISTEN, which became a regional hit in Texas
Bowen, who earlier this year made it to the top 40 on the Country Songs chart with "Saturday Night," on Sea Gayle/BNA Records, which he co-wrote with Lee Thoma Miller.

Carrie Underwood jumps to #1
Carrie Underwood has earned her 15th No. 1 single with “Good Girl,” her debut single from Blown Away. Since achieving her first No. 1 single in 2006 with “Jesus, Take The Wheel” Carrie has spent more weeks in the No. 1 spot on the country airplay charts than any other female artist. Underwood debuted the song in a live performance during the annual Country Radio Seminar (CRS) event in Nashville
“Good Girl,” which has sold over 980,000 digital copies so far, was written by Carrie, Chris DeStefano and Ashley Gorley, who co-wrote two of Underwood’s No. 1 hits, “Don’t Forget to Remember Me” and “All-American Girl.” The video for “Good Girl” is currently No. 1 on both CMT and GAC and won “Video of the Year”at the CMT Music Awards this week.
“Good Girl” is in C minor, with an approximate tempo of 126 beats per minute. Carrie’s vocal ranges from G3 to F5 (www.musicnotes.com)

Top 30 Digital Singles In Country Music (6th June 2012)
Luke Bryan has four songs on the Top 30 of this week’s Digital Singles Chart. His current hit “Drunk On You” remains at #1 as it gained 24% in sales over the previous selling 101,000 copies of the single and passes over the 1.1 million mark.
Eric Church’s “Springsteen” stays at #2 . With sales of 79,000 he passes the Platinum 1-million sales mark, the first time he has achieved this feat with either a song or album.
Kip Moore
Carrie Underwood’s “Good Girl” is up one to #4 and will almost certainly pass platinum status next week and she has this week’s #1 airplay single.
Kenny Chesney’s “Come Over” gained 4,000 in sales over last week as Gloriana’s “(Kissed You) Good Night” falls to #7 after a 34% weekly sales dip.
Eli Young Band’s “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” which is #8 on the chart nears the Gold marker of 500,000 copies.
Dierks Bentley’s “5-1-5-0” single received a 31% sales boost with 9,000 extra sales this week to make the Top 10.
Jana Kramer “Why Ya Wanna” has moved up to #12 and the single has also hit the Top 20 at country radio.
Love and Theft’s top 15 single “Angel Eyes” has moved up 9 places on the Digital single chart.
