Burr began his career as a member of the group Pure Prairie League from 1982 to 1985, taking over after Vince Gill departed the group. Burr has penned hits for a plethora of country artists (and a few Pop and Rock artists).
Burr's first Top-10 hit as a songwriter was "Love's Been A Little Bit Hard On Me" released by Juice Newton; the single reached #7 on Billboard's Hot 100 in 1982. Other notable country crackers include:
Watch Me" - Lorrie Morgan , "Sure Love" - Hal Ketchum , "We Don't Have to Do This" - Tanya Tucker , ""I Try to Think About Elvis" - Patty Loveless , "Bus Ride"- Suzy Bogguss, "Can't Be Really Gone" - Tim McGraw  and "To Be Loved by You" - Wynonna .
Gary Burr blogs : “We were the number one selling country rock CD on Amazon!!! I believe “country rock” is a category for bands like Pablo Cruise and Commander Cody. But we’ll take it
The creative spark that ignited Blue Sky Riders was struck when Loggins and Burr began working on songs together. Their chemistry inspired them both to "get back on the horse" and start a new band. Loggins welcomed the challenge but wanted to add a third, female voice. Burr, whose accolades include being named Songwriter of the Year by ASCAP, Billboard and NSAI, suggested Middleman. She quickly accepted their invitation and Blue Sky Riders were born.
The group recently performed at the Sundance ASCAP Music Café in Park City, Utah during the prestigious film festival. Backstage they talked about the joys of combining their three voices, trusting each other’s instincts and what their newfound collaboration means to them  >>  YouTube - Album Review - HI Res Audio tracks
On Jan 24, 2013 as part of promoting the album they officially nailed their first performance on late night TV appearing on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno

Billboard Country Airplay Chart Week of February 16, 2013

Jason Aldean adds to his own No. 1 count and helps the scores for his buddies and featured artists
Luke Bryan and Eric Church, as “The Only Way I Know” (Broken Bow) gains 403,000 audience impressions and steps 2-1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, in the songs 16th chart week.

The new leader is the ninth for Aldean—plus the fifth for Bryan and the third for Church—and follows three weeks at No. 1 for the lead artist’s “Take a Little Ride” last October.
Both songs are from NIGHT TRAIN, Aldean’s fifth studio album, which became his first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and his third on Top Country Albums when it bowed atop both charts last November with 409,000 sold. With well more than 1 million copies sold so far, Train sold 16,000 in its 15th week on the Top Country Albums chart dated Feb. 9, while “The Only Way I Know” moved 32,000 downloads during the Jan. 21-27 tracking week.
Aldean’s new No. 1 is only the second chart-topper during the Nielsen BDS era (since January 1990) to contain more than one featured artist. That hasn’t happened since Alison Krauss and Billy Dean shared second billing on Kenny Rogers’ “Buy Me a Rose,” which crowned the May 13, 2000, chart. In the years before BDS and Billboard pioneered technology-based radio charts (1944-1989), the most artists in a No. 1 listing was four, noted when Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson led with “Highwayman” in 1985. Two years later, Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris reached the summit with “To Know Him Is to Love Him.”

Top local audience contributors for “The Only Way I Know” during the Jan. 28-Feb. 3 BDS tracking week are led by 1.4 million impressions at KKGO Los Angeles, and include KKBQ Houston

(868,000), KILT Houston (809,000), WYCD Detroit (784,000) and WUSN Chicago (753,000).
With 852 total plays since Oct. 12, 2012, BDS-monitored national delivery platforms are led by SiriusXM’s “The Highway.” Those plays are tabulated in the Billboard Country Indicator chart, where the song steps 3-2. The Band Perry with “Better Dig Two” lead on that particular chart moving 2-1 (3507 Plays / +94 / 1.092 audience)

Jason’s country rap collaboration was first released on November 12, 2012 on his Broken Bow label. It was written by David Lee Murphy and Ben Hayslip and produced by Michael Knox.
Review: Billy Dukes of Taste of Country gave "The Only Way I Know" a four-star review, saying that it "sounds best at neighbor-irritating volumes."
Broken Bow now has ten chart topping hits. Craig Morgan has one with “That's What I Love About Sunday” (2005) the rest are bagged by Aldean: “Why” (2006), “She's Country” (2009), “Big Green Tractor” (2009), “The Truth ( #1 2010), “Don't You Wanna Stay” with Kelly Clarkson (2011), “Dirt Road Anthem” (2011), “ Fly Over States” (2012), “Take A Little Ride” (2012) and now “The Only Way I Know”in 2013.

Taylor also spent her third consecutive week at #1 on the Billboard Mainstream Top 40 chart with “I Knew You Were Trouble.”

Kenny Chesney posts the Hot Shot Debut for this week adding Breaker, Most Increased Audience (+10.97 millions / +1449 gain for most increased plays) and Most Added honors (+65)—at No. 22 with “Pirate Flag” (Blue Chair/Columbia Nashville), the lead track from a new studio album, titled LIFE ON A ROCK due April 30. It’s Chesney’s record-extending eighth song to open in the chart’s top 25 in the Nielsen era. Garth Brooks, with four top 25 debuts, ranks second. Chesney’s best start was when “Feel Like a Rock Star” (duet with Tim McGraw) bowed at No. 13 last spring. He’s also had higher entries with the No. 16 debut of “Don’t Blink” in 2007 and “The Boys of Fall” at No. 17 three summers ago. Of his eight top 25 debuts, only “Rock Star” (No. 11 peak) and “Ain’t Back Yet (No. 23 debut and No. 3 peak in 2010) failed to reach the summit.
