UK COUNTRY-POP DUO HOLLOWAY ROAD RELEASE THEIR NEW SONG 'LITTLE HARDER'

One of the UK's most exciting new acts Holloway Road released a brand new song to stream via Soundcloud on Monday 7th March 2016. 
The song 'Little Harder' is taken from their forthcoming second EP, the follow-up to 2015's self-titled debut which made it into the iTunes UK Top 10 Country album chart.

The band will also be performing at this year's Country to Country Festival in London.

Review: The single starts off with some cool banjo licks with chord's that draw similarities to Keith Urban’s “Somebody Like You”

The upbeat track rocks catchy hooks with a neat back beat fused with modern day country auto-tune resulting in a strong contemporary mix 

What’s impressive is that Holloway Road (Jack Cooper and Robert Gulston) have been recording and producing themselves for over 10 years now.

Everything on this track was done in house and all instruments, vocals, harmonies were recorded by the two of them!

It’s Jack who has the deeper voice and Rob sweetens the with his tenor voice. On the song the protagonist is honest enough to firstly pay dues to his girl having the conviction to leave home to seek pastures new for a better life. He questions whether it was just in his mind that he was in with a chance of winning her love but she’s certainly messed with his mind! - And I know we got dreams, I'm a dreamer, And you’re on my mind like a like a feature

He reached out like a one-way ticket, dreaming of those days of young love and jealousy. But now the feelings hurting bad with a wish that one day she may return. Or is it just wishful thinkin’? …Move on down the Holloway Road! (Rating: 7/10)

ABOUT HOLLOWAY ROAD:

Holloway Road are Jack Cooper and Robert Gulston, both originating from sunny Southend-On-Sea. But these aren't your ordinary Essex Boys: Instead of tanning or getting their vajazzles done, they're creating 'free big in your face' country pop music. Jack and Robert, being in their mid-twenties now, have had their fair share of experience writing and playing around the world. After attending the same school and working on musical projects together in the years since, Jack and Robert's ability to write and produce stems from the idea of being able to write about being real and having a good time.

Their influences include Florida Georgia Line, Kacey Musgraves, The Eagles, Mumford and Sons, and drinkin' a beer!

Along with their debut, self-titled EP entering the Top 10 UK iTunes Country album charts, the duo have spent time in Nashville, been invited to play the Martin Guitar stage at the CMA Festival, toured with #1 hit writers John & Jacob, and performed at Country to Country Festival at the O2 Arena in London two years in a row. And they're just getting started - with a string of UK and European dates in the spring and their second EP on the way, Holloway Road are well on their way to imprinting their own footprint in the country community.

C2C Rewind

In 2015 Holloway Road played the C2C Festival on Sat 7th March 2015 playing The Big Entrance Stage (12:10-12:40). At that time they had 836  Facebook likes and have now reached 1,563.

Vickye Fisher from For The Country Record website reviewed their C2C 2015 set: .. I am not sure where to start with these guys. Personally I have always been a big fan of acts who are authentic and add their own unique sound to their music, so the issue I have with Holloway Road is that I don’t get how a bunch of lads from Essex vocally sound like a Florida Georgia Line cover band. To be fair to them they sounded okay, and they seem like a decent bunch, the musicianship was good and they performed with great enthusiasm. I am just not convinced of their musical authenticity, and the lead singer seemed to struggle with putting on a deep gravelly voice.

Leeds very own top country DJ Peter Englefield spoke on the phone with Holloway Road in October 2015 (prior to the British Country Music Awards) on his Country & Western Show (10:30pm - 13:30 Thursday).
