(Nashville, Tennessee…) – June 15, 2016

David Shelby spent much of the last year in both Nashville and his hometown of Detroit writing music for a new EP, and the first release from those sessions is the captivating “Back To Us” (Highway South Records)

Shelby wrote the new single with Kenton Bryant, and it was just shipped to country radio and is already one of the Top 20 downloads on PlayMPE.
The song is also on Country iTunes and can be found here.
David Shelby delivers fresh music with lyrical precision, polish and a finely-tuned talent poised to make a long lasting impression.

He shared on Facebook: I'm so excited to share my new single "Back to Us" with you! It's brand new and already getting so much support on the radio! Thank you so much to those who have been listening to it and calling in requests--your support means so much to me!
To record the new EP, David teamed up with producers Russ Zavitson, Kenton Bryant and Bradley Prakope, who hunkered down in the Cowboy Arms Hotel and Recording Spa - former home and studio of Cowboy Jack Clement to record.
The yet unnamed EP is set for a late summer release.
Watch his Facebook video:
We wanted to make the music that we know how to make, and no one gets that better than Russ, Kenton and Bradley; so, we bring Motor City flavor to Music City tradition; the chrome is polished and shined and the lyrics simple and classic,” says David.

About David Shelby
Somewhere along the interstates and freeways between Nashville and Detroit, David Shelby mapped out his musical direction with the final destination to arrive at country radio with a sound all his own. Capturing the salt-of-the-earth and grit of Motor City, Michigan, the rock n’ roll history the culture is known for, and melding it with Nashville’s signature musicianship and storylines, Shelby created a sound he proudly identifies as “Rust Belt Country.” He is a performer wired for sound whose talents are branded by his roots—the heart of America, built on hope and tenacity for the future.
