Ones We Love ❤
LOGAN BRILL

Hometown: Knoxville, TN
Record Label: Carnival Recording Company

Logan Brill is a Knoxville, Tennessee resident and she citesd fantastic influences like Patty Griffin and has been compared to everyone from Martina McBride to Sheryl Crow to P!nk.
As a young singer-songwriter she opted for grit and authenticity over pristine pop in her song choices, citing artists like Patty Griffin, Bonnie Raitt, The Band, Alison Krauss, and Ryan Adams as influences.

She released her debut album WALKING WIRES on Oct 15, 2013, produced by Oran Thornton and Matthew Miller which showcased original music with a country/Americana edge.

In the time since releasing her debut album 26-year-old (?) Logan Brill has already proven herself to be one of the most important young artists in Nashville today. With a stunning voice that goes toe to toe with Nashville's finest, the young singer opts for grit and authenticity over pristine pop in her song choices, drawing comparisons to Bonnie Raitt, Brandi Carlile, and Mary Chapin Carpenter from national press.
Outlets like Billboard, CMT Edge, Country Weekly, Pollstar and CMA Close Up Magazine have shown their support for her refreshingly authentic sound, imbued with a “bluesy American grit” (Southern Living) that sets her apart as “a far cry from the slick pop country of many of her contemporaries” (The Boot).

Logan released her much-anticipated second album SHUTEYE (Carnival Recording Company) on June 2, 2015 in addition to performing at North Carolina’s famed roots festival, Merlefest, California’s largest Country Music Festival, Stagecoach, making her Grand Ole Opry debut, and touring appearances with icons Merle Haggard and Dwight Yoakam.
On the Billboard Top Country album Chart (dated June 20, 2015) SHUTEYE sold 1,100 copies and made a debut at #37.

Brill’s love for deep and meaningful lyrics continue to shine through on her just-released sophomore effort, Shuteye, the follow-up to her 2013 debut WALKING WIRES. “I had a lot more perspective having made the album before. Having toured with the first record so much, I wanted it to feel like an evolution of me as an artist. I think that’s what artists do: You can’t put out the same thing every time. I wanted it to move a little more. I love my first record, but I had so many ballads, and I am a ballad lover. But with this album, I sought out songs that still had meaningful content but ones that got the crowd moving a little more.”.

One might expect that the grind of multi-city touring would incline a vocal artist to pursue free-time diversions that have nothing whatever to do with music. But if Logan has a saturation point, she’s nowhere close to reaching it. Whether at her father’s cabin or her mother’s Knoxville home, making music is almost always on the agenda after the dishes have been cleared away.

In the song “World Still Round,” she writes:
Until a spark catches,
You’ve got to keep on striking matches
’till you find the one that burns.

Though penned about unrequited love, the lines also serve as metaphor for the music business. In that regard, SHUT EYE, this eclectic collection of “sparks,” will surely catch and kindle nicely. As for what comes next, rest assured that Logan, the artist, has a pocket brimming with fresh matches.
