"O Holy Night" (French: Cantique de Noël) is a well-known Christmas carol composed by Adolphe Adam in 1847 to the French poem "Minuit, chrétiens" (Midnight, Christians) by a wine merchant and poet, Placide Cappeau (1808–1877).
The song has also been recorded through the years by many notable singers including Mariah Carey, Cher, Perry Como, Bing Crosby, Céline Dion, Josh Groban, Anne Murray and Andy Williams.

Glen Campbell recorded the song on his Christmas album Home for the Holidays (1993).
Vince Gill cut it for his release Breath Of Heaven (1998)
It was a title cut for John Berry charted with it at #55 (1996) and #63 (1998)
Martina McBride's rendering from her WHITE CHRISTMAS release (Sept 29, 1998) charted on five separate occasions beginning with a No.74 slot (1997) and a top peak on Hot Country Songs at #49 in 1999.
Edens Edge's logged a No. 59 slot in 2012.
Kenny Rogers added it to his CHRISTMAS GREETINGS album and as a The Chosen One Montage on his holiday release The Gift (1996)
Faith Hill added it to her first Christmas offering on Sept 2008 with the release of JOY TO THE WORLD.
Jennifer Nettles recorded it for her TO CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS album which dropped October 28, 2016
Rascal Flatts have included it on their new 2016 holiday release THE GREATEST GIFT OF ALL.
