Asking Alexandria and We Are Harlot frontman Danny Worsnop matures effortlessly into blues rock/outlaw country territory on his solo debut, THE LONG ROAD HOME [Tagged Country / Outlaw Country], delivering an album of real, raw emotion, with songs about personal tragedy, hard-living and heartache.

Chart success:

It was released via Earache Records on February 17th and reached No.1 on the UK iTunes Country chart (#34 all genres UK iTunes Albums overall). On February 19, 2017, it held a #4 position behind The Shires and Ward Thomas (#182 overall UK Album chart). On that same day in America it was placed at #46 US iTunes Overall Albums.

On the rolling, Official UK Country Album Top 20 for the chart week ending 2nd March 2017. Additionally on the Official Americana Albums Chart Top 40 (Chart dated 2 March 2017) it made a No.2 bow.

It debuted on Billboard Independent Albums at #38 and #16 on Billboard Heatseekers Albums.

On Billboard Current Country Albums, it held a No.36 position (dated 28 Feb 2017)

At the age of just 26, Worsnop has already lived more of life's ups and downs than most, laid bare in album opener "Prozac". The video premiered via NME, watch it below.

Prozac and coffee black, it's breakfast time again. You and me, recovery, waiting for it to kick in. We fell in love, got all screwed up and held on for dear life. Oh lord we pray, we medicate until we're stabilized.
We wore the crown, we painted the town, and held on for dear life. Got crucified and came back to life with caffeine and a pill.
Prozac and coffee back, that's it for me and you. New drugs of choice, we go and void all the highs that we once new.

He has also delighted to announce that he has been added to Kent's Ramblin' Man Fair line up in July. Despite selling over half a million albums, his hard-drinking lifestyle has caused Danny to be homeless three times, go through rehab twice and be hospitalised numerous times.  THE LONG ROAD HOME sees a musical departure from his previous work and forges a deeper and often darker path through the British-born (4 September 1990; Beverley, Yorkshire, England), Nashville-based musician's mind. Long-time fans will see him in a more personal and reflective mood.

Worsnop comments: "With the help of some incredible and very talented people, I am pleased to announce that in 2017 I will be releasing my first album as a solo artist. It has been an emotional roller-coaster creating these songs, but the end result has left me humbled, proud, and more excited about a

project than I ever have been in my life”.

In Europe “Anyone But Me” (writers Danny Worsnop, Terri Jo Box, Randall Clay) was promoted via Grass Roots Promotion on the March’s #219 Hotdisc.
It made a #20 debut on the Hotdisc Top 40 chart (dated March 5, 2017) and currently has reached #13 (chart March 19, 2017)

Biography

Danny Worsnop. The English singer, songwriter, photographer and writer was born and raised in the sparse, farmland countryside in Northern England. His music career began with dropping out of college and shipping off to the States with 4 unlikely companions that are known today as Asking Alexandria. 

After months of living homeless in a New Jersey Wal Mart parking lot living off ramen noodles, cheap liquor and overwhelming passion, the band wake up to record contracts from countless labels across the country. Upon signing with Sumerian Records (with whom the band are still signed with) they went into The Foundation Studios in Connersville, IN to record their debut album “Stand Up And Scream“ in 2009.

Following his departure from UK metalcore pioneers Asking Alexandria, Danny Worsnop's musical direction could not have been more different, with the rock 'n' roll swagger of We Are Harlot being reminiscent of hard rock's heyday. Now with his debut solo album being released on Earache Records, home to bluesy-rock bands such as Rival Sons, one of music's busiest talents shows off another side to his repertoire, with a refreshing approach to country and blues that perhaps only he could deliver.

Working with Grammy-award winning songwriters John Paul White and Hillary Lindsey, and renowned producer Jim Kaufman, "The Long Road Home" is a collection of finely crafted songs, covering his past dealings with drugs, alcoholism and his rehabilitation along with his other "dark demons". Written intensely in just one week and recorded live and raw in Kaufman's living room, the album is a deeply personal account of Danny's experiences. Indeed, every aspect of the release has been completely under his control, right down to directing the accompanying videos for the lead track, 'I Got Bones'.
