Danielle Bradbery kicks off a whole new chapter with today’s release of her new lead track “Sway on Big Machine Records. The highly anticipated new song from the 20-year-old singer/songwriter establishes her move into making honest music as she, for the first time, plays a part in penning the track, weaving her own story into her music.
“Sway,” co-written by Bradbery, Johan Fransson and GRAMMY Award-winning Emily Weisband, exemplifies the 2017 CMT Music Awards nominee’s new sophisticated sound that shows her wide variety of influences including pop, R&B, soul and country. The lead track will give fans the first taste from her forthcoming project, due later this year.

Release Date: 2 June 2017
Label: Big Machine Label

“I’m so excited to finally share new music with my fans, who have stood by me ever since I won The Voice when I was 16,” explains Bradbery. “All I’ve ever wanted to do was relate to people through my songs, and I’ve worked so hard to get to a point where my lyrics and sound are true to me. I put my heart into ‘Sway’ and all of the songs on the upcoming project, and I think fans will feel that come through when they listen.”
The song relates to fans by telling them to leave the world’s worries behind with lyrics like:

Get lost in a groove that'll make you lose your mind/ Put a smile on your face send you right in a daze/ No there ain't nothin wrong when a song comes on that makes you wanna sway.”
Bradbery has worked on fine-tuning her unique sound since getting her start winning season four of NBC’s The Voice, and is stepping out in a big way. Her fans, who have long awaited new music, were clued in to the big news when Bradbery posted a series of white photos forming a line on her Instagram account  that symbolizes a “clean break” between the old and the new, followed by a series of new photos leading up to the final reveal of “Sway.”

Bradbery is nominated for Performance of the Year at the upcoming 2017 CMT Music Awards --  taking place on Wednesday, June 6, for her performance of  “Close” with Nick Jonas and Thomas Rhett -- and will perform during Nashville's CMA Music Festival Friday, June 9 at the Ladies of Country show at the Cracker Barrel Country Roads Stage (Ascend Amphitheater) at 7 p.m.
“Sway” is available for purchase here and find the static video for the lead track:

Taste Of Country write: Literally you can (and should) forget everything you knew about Danielle Bradbery. Treat her like a new artist — one with a groovy, soulful, passionate debut single that fits on the radio like the cool new kid in high school. Vocally she climbs the ladder, but never shows off. “Sway” is an easy message penned for a more grown-up audience. One recalls Kelly Clarkson‘s “Don’t Rush,” which doesn’t suck.
The loose arrangement of “Sway” gives Bradbery room to breathe. She’s pretty great when she slows down, and that may be what the lesson she learned during a lengthy absence from the Nashville scene.
Did You Know?: Bradbery won Season 4 of The Voice in 2013.
