1) Voting for all of the Awards were open to everyone from February 19th until the deadline date 14th May.
2) Based on the number of votes, five finalists were identified in each category, with the exception of the UK Country Artist Of The Year category in which ten finalists were identified.
3) The finalists were voted on by a panel made up of UKCountryRadio.com's presenters and staff together with people who have held a Gold, Silver or Bronze subscription to UKCountryRadio.com since before January 1st 2017.
4) You could only vote once.
The finalists for all seven Awards were announced in a special programme broadcast on UKCountryRadio.com on Bank Holiday Monday, 29th May. Those finalists went on to a second vote

UKCountryRadio.com’s 10th Birthday Party and UK Country Music Awards will take place on Saturday 2nd September 2017 at Radisson Blu Hotel, East Midlands Airport.
The night included:
* A live concert (performs announced in June) Prices £20.00 no meal – Priority Ticket £44.50 each
* A three-course celebratory dinner
* The presentation of The UK Country Music Awards
* Fundraising for Rotherham Friends of Early Onset Dementia and Eve's Trust























UKCountryRadio.com whose claim and unmissable slogan is they play "The Hottest Country Music for the UK, 24 hours a day", stated they enjoyed a fabulous night lined up with a three-course dinner, live performances from The Angels with Dirty FacesBlue Genes, Steve Young UKGrand Prairie Band, Gary Perkins, Roni Perry and Listeners' Club Song Award Finalists DecemberAngela Paterson and Wayne Jacobs  and the presentation of The UK Country Music Awards, celebrating the best in UK Country Music.
A two-hour highlights show scheduled for the end of the month oUKCountryRadio.com on Tuesday 19th September at 7pm and Wednesday 20th September at 4pm.
The event was hosted by UKCountryRadio.com presenters Allan Watkiss (CEO) and Liz Hill (who flew in from L.A.)
The evening began with a live performance in the hotel reception from Gary Perkins.

It was broadcast live around the world on UKCountryRadio.com. Graham L. Hall (Country Spirit) & station legend Nutty Norah kicked off their live coverage on Sat Sept 2nd from the Radisson Blu at 5pm, with DJ Martyn Williams (Presenter Page) who returned from New York guiding radio listeners through the event itself from 7pm.

There were 17 live performance and award segments listed below:

Segment 1: Artists sent in shout-outs (Raintown, Zenne, Thornehill) and Matt Anthony (Website | >> YouTube) the voiceover man for UKCountryRadio.com ( the "voice" of dozens of stations nationwide) wishing UKCountryRadio.com a Happy Birthday 10th birthday. Zenne and Margaret Ann (presenter of non-stop country love songs) sang Happy Birthday live and CEO Allan Watkiss & Liz Hill set the scene with an opening skit (ala Brad & Carrie) and laid out the iternary for the awards.


Segment 2: Steve Young (Facebook) and his band perform.
Songs included “Trembling Heart” (received airplay UKCountryRadio.com), Nurture (taken from his July 2016 album TROUBADOUR | iTunes), a new song Great North Road from EP (available on as a physical copy) that’s been recorded by the go-to producer Justin Johnson (Jroom3.co.uk). Steve has performed 223 gigs in the last year starting out from the A1 (aka The Great North Road). He closed out with a rousing clap-a-long hoedown “Wholeheartedly”. This was Young’s second successive UKCountryRadio.com award performance which demonstrated a consistent and solid set. “They set the scene for a fantastic night of live music” said Simon Large (UKCR afternoon presenter and awards voiceover man)


Segment 3: * AWARD * UK Country Album Of The Year
Double UKCountryRadio.com nominated Finalist Lily Garland (Facebook) was welcomed to the stage to present the award. 
Lily Garland’s single I'm Coming For You was UKCountryRadio.com's #1 Most Heard in July 2017.
The Album award quite rightly went to CARTWHEELS the second album by twins Catherine and Lizzy Ward Thomas, non-identical 23-year olds from Hampshire who trade as Ward Thomas. Opening atop the Official UK Top 100 Albums Chart (Week Ending 15 Sept 2016) on sales of 12,127 copies (including 227 from streams), Cartwheels far surpassed their debut album, FROM WHERE WE STAND, which debuted and peaked at No.41 on sales of 2,473 copies a little over two years ago, and has since gone on to sell 27,000 copies. Ward Thomas are a contemporary country duo, and the very first UK country act to have a No.1 album.

Segment 4: Angela Paterson performs “Yesteryear” her UKCountryRadio.com Listener Club Song of the Year nominated track.
The song is taken from her 10 track DOWN TO THE RIVER album (tagged Singer/Songwriter; released 23 May 2016
UK iTunes | Amazon). 
Angela was born and brought up on the Isle Of Islay and although this album release has influences of country, soul and pop she also stays true to her island roots. Down to the River was written and recorded in Argyll, Scotland, in 2015 and 2016. December are from Glasgow, Scotland and are in a band because of U2, and Bruce Springsteen. The band's recent album 'I Will Let You Have your Say' was was launched at shows in Glasgow and Dublin. The single Alison Stewart was released on 2 November 2015 as a tribute to U2 and Alison Stewart/Hewson. The follow up ‘Kenneth Mathieson Dalglish’ was released on 4 March 2016 in honour of the Scottish legend. The Rock/pop band are: Ails (lead vocals), Paul (guitars and vocals), Graeme (drums), Scott (guitars).


Segment 6: Roni Perry performs


UKCountryRadio.com have been featuring "Nothing Less Than This" by the Devon-based singer-songwriter. 

It's the title track of her 2016 EP which marked Roni's return to music after a long break and a shift into the country/Americana genre. The song features Sarah Jory on pedal steel.

According to her website: Brought up on the likes of Tammy, Johnny, Dolly and Elvis Roni has that Country  at the roots of her soul; along with some great blues and rock influence. - Facebook

Roni will perform at UKCountryRadio.com’s Live Music Nights - Upton Upon Severn on Friday 24th November (Event)



Segment 7: * AWARD * UK Country Group Of The Year
Triple UKCountryRadio.com nominated finalist Penny Jayne Black (Facebook) was on stage to present the award to Gary Perkins & The Breeze who retained the title and are described as “one of the best live bands on the circuit”.


Segment 8: Grand Prairie perform a live set
Together for 30 years Grand Prairie are well known on the London Function and pub scene. In over 20 trips to the USA they have opened for Aerosmith, Diana Ross, Willie Nelson, Johnny Fogarty (Creedence Clearwater Revival) Alabama, Clint Black and in 2015, Trace Atkins. Grand Prairie won the UK Country Radio "Group Of The Year" award in 2015. Two original tracks from their album "This Ain't Reno" reached No.1 in the radio stations charts and were UKCountryRadio.com's #1 Most Heard in June 2017.

Zenne retained her title who was described as “one of the best female performers in the UK”. She later shared: It's 4 in the morning and once more the dawning. Absolutely thrilled to have Won UKcountryradio Female Country Singer of the Year 2017.

Segment 11: * AWARD * UK Duo Of The Year
Kent based band ORFILA came to the stage to present the award.
Raintown were announced the winners a duo with a history of have a relationship with UKCountryRadio.com and popular with the station presenters and it seems the subscribers. This the second win for Raintown in this category having won Album and Artist of the year in 2016. Their loyal fanbase thought it was “well deserved” but Raintown were somewhat of a surprise winning over both the The Shires and Ward Thomas who broke records on the Official UK Album chart and played large venues and stadiums in support of their albums.

Raintown tweeted: Thank you to everyone involved and those who voted. We are truly grateful.
Segment 12: Gary Perkins performs
Gary was joined by Allan Watkiss on piano for his set which included: a) In The Morning b) Angel On My Shoulder (current line dance favourite; the song tells of the guardian angel that Gary believes is watching over him!)

Segment 13: * AWARD * Male Country Singer Of The Year
Crispin Bardsley from Abbey Motorcycles (Website | Unit 5, Newton Ind Est, Irongray Rd, Dumfries, DG2 0JE) presented the award to Gary Quinn (who wasn’t present).


Segment 14: Blue Genes perform
Last years UK Country Group Of The Year Finalists Blue Genes (Megan Erica Lee (13yr old; born in 2003), Stephen Shaun Lee (father), Kay Louise Lee (Mother) See Facebook Blog Feature) performed having been upgraded from their 2016 set in the hotel's reception ahead of last years main ceremony. They were joined by Justin Johnstone who has produced their music.
There set included: a) Dime A Dozen b) Girlfriend (new song) c) War Of The Roses (taken from their EP Small Town Rumours; released 3 Dec 2015; Country iTunes | Amazon) d) You Make Love Look Easy (Single; released April 9, 2017; iTuneswritten specially for one of Kay's best and oldest friends, Huw, who got married to the love of his life Claire in April. The church was right across the road from the Tyn y Capel pub, where Blue Genes hosted their fabulous Little Mountain Country Music Festival in August.



Segment 15: * AWARD * UKCountryRadio.com Listeners’ Club Song Award: 
UKCountryRadio.com UK Artist of the Year nominated finalist Chloe Chadwick (Facebook) was on stage to present the award.
6 Out Of 7: Wayne Jacobs was named the winner for the sixth successive year and a finalist for the last seven years.

Go-to producer Justin Johnson (Jroom3.co.uk) was invited to the stage to announce the biggy.
The winner was 3-time finalist Thorne Hill who went one better having won Male Country Singer Of The Year in 2016.

Segment 17: The Angels with Dirty Faces perform a live set
The Angels with Dirty Faces (Facebook) rounded out the awards playing into the late evening. Stuart Landon grew up on country music and has been a performer on the scene for many years. He was part of the outfit Young Country and has performed with his brothers as The Landons. He then left the genre to join the indie rock band The Establishment. He returned to country music with the “superbly-polished” Angels With Dirty Faces. Kalli Ashton joins him on vocals in fronting a seven-piece assemble playing a mix of original material and credibly-interpreted covers.
Their set including You’re An Angel Without Wings and their #4 UK Country iTunes single Shatter Like Glass.
You are going to love them and they will bring the house down, such an amazing sound” said DJ Martyn Williams (Presenter Page).




UKCountryRadio.com 10th Birthday Party FASHION

Multi-talented Model, dancer, Shania Twain Tribute act and new on the UK country scene Doncaster based Saskia Vese was in attendance. She has recently charted 2 singles on the Hotdisc top 40 chart and her current single “Good Girl” is at #36 which is being promoted hourly by Lee William’s CMR Nashville.

Saskia wore a risky flirty sheer-corseted Jovani cocktail dress, style 72719 (Product | Product) and a producer and record label named her best dressed at the awards.
Ariana Grande made a sweet and sexy statement in this same dress on the Billboard Music Awards blue carpet.
























The flirty, full lace skirt has a delicate leopard and floral print with a cute bow on the front. Saskia added Vivian Westwood heels and a beautiful Swarovski necklace full of white and clear crystals with a knot in the middle and a choker with all diamonds.

CHARITY
UKCountryRadio.com delightedly informed their listenership that the charity raffle held at their 10th Birthday Party & UK Country Music Awards raised £250.
The money will be split between the two charities they have been supporting this year, Doncaster cancer charity Eve's Trust and Rotherham's Friends of Young Onset Dementia. This concludes their charity appeal this year.
