11-Year-Old internet sensation Mason Ramsey tops iTunes Country Songs Chart with debut single

Found out more about the 11-year-old internet sensation Mason Ramsey who offers a personal glimpse into his whirlwind past month with the video for his breakout single “Famous” today.

Penned by hitmakers Tyler Hubbard, Corey Crowder, Sarah and Canaan Smith plus produced by studio aces Joey Moi (Florida Georgia Line, Jake Owen) and Crowder, “Famous” debuted at #1 on the iTunes Country Songs chart and has sold an impressive 100K+ copies.
Famous” (Atlantic/Big Loud) was the Top-charting #1 global streaming Country song on Spotify, he also launched into Billboard’s all-genre The Hot 100 and snagged Hot Shot Debut stripes with a No.4 bow on Billboard Hot Country Songs (Chart issue week of May 12, 2018). In its second week it was in the top 20 moving 4-15 (Chart dated May 19, 2018)




















Additionally, the song launched at No.2 on Country Digital Song Sales (19,000; Chart May 12, 2018) while drawing 10.8 million U.S. streams. In its second frame (chart May 19, 2018) it has fallen 4-14 (7,000 sales; 2-week total 26,000)

Ramsey follows such young performers on Hot Country Songs as Tanya Tucker, who was 13 when “Delta Dawn” reached No. 6 in 1972; Marie Osmond (14 when “Paper Roses” hit No. 1 in 1973); LeAnn Rimes (13 when “Blue” climbed to No. 10 in 1996); Billy Gilman (12 when “One Voice” hit No. 20 in 2000); and Lennon & Maisy, who reached No. 32 with their cover of The Lumineers’ “Ho Hey” in 2013, when the members of the sister duo were 13 and 9, respectively.

Six weeks ago, Mason Ramsey was an anonymous 11-year-old, singing his heart out in an Illinois Walmart. On Friday April 27, he announced he signed deal with Atlantic Records and Nashville-based Big Loud, and released his debut single, "Famous".

“I’d been to Nashville a few times before, but never thought something like this would happen," Ramsey said in a press release. "It’s a dream to sign with Atlantic and Big Loud. I loved recording Famous and can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”
