Friday August 10 was the last day to become a member in order to be able to nominate acts for this years British Country Music Association Awards (BCMA) which takes place Sat 24th November at the 2000-seater Harrogate Convention Centre! According to BCMA Secretary General Jeanne Jordan they are "getting more and more members all the time" and there will be "quite a big VIP tables section, the rest of tickets are theatre seating”.

Singer-songwriter Emily Maguire's final
dates left are Royston Folk Club on Friday 31 August and her London gig at The
Slaughtered Lamb in Clerkenwell on Saturday 15 September supported by the
acoustic guitarist Ben Walker. On
Saturday 27 October I'm doing a very special concert in the ballroom at Gaunts
House, a wonderful country mansion in Dorset which is now used as a spiritual
retreat.
Emily's new book
of poetry 'Meditation Mind' has just gone to print and to celebrate its
publication there is going to be an acoustic tour of bookshops and Buddhist
centres later this year. Emily shares: These gigs will be a very intimate mix
of poetry readings and songs with Emily on acoustic guitar and Christian on
double-bass. Next month we're in Germany performing at a conference in Hamburg
for the German Bipolar Society (DGBS) and then in Holland in December for the
Dutch Bipolar Society.

The Greatest Showman soundtrack, which spent 21 weeks
at the summit earlier this year, remained at No.2, although its sales – off
11.30% week-on-week at 22,992 – are at their lowest level for 31 weeks.

2018 Inductees
The NASHVILLE
SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME (NaSHOF) has
announced Ronnie Dunn, K.T. Oslin, Byron
Hill, Wayne Kirkpatrick, and Joe
Melson as its five inductees across four categories for the Class Of 2018.
The five will join the 208 existing members of the elite organization when they
are officially inducted during the "48th Anniversary Nashville Songwriters
Hall Of Fame Gala" on Sunday,
October 28th at the Music City
Center in NASHVILLE. Country icon Reba McEntire will also be honored with
the inaugural Career Maker Award during the GALA.
"This time of year, as Board Chair of the Nashville
Songwriters Hall Of Fame Foundation, I am always reminded of the broad variety
and high quality of the songwriting talent we are so fortunate to be able to
celebrate," said Nashville Songwriters Hall Of Fame Board Chair Pat Alger. "The musical trends
might change through the years, but for us, it always comes down to great songs
and legendary songwriters -- the bedrock of the town that continues to be

(9 Aug 2018) 'CMA Fest' Ratings Solid, But Off Slightly
From Last Year
WEDNESDAY night's (Aug 8) "CMA FEST" telecast on
ABC-TV attracted 4.72 million total
viewers, earning a 0.9 rating and a 5 share among 18-49-year olds, but it
trailed the evening's winner, "Big Brother," on CBS-TV. The 2018
ratings number and viewer total were both down compared to 2017 results for
"CMA FEST," which highlighted the nightly JUNE concerts at
Nashville's Nissan Stadium featuring Keith Urban, Florida Georgia Line, Blake
Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and other stars (NET NEWS 8/8).
Though down year-to-year, the "CMA FEST"
telecast appeared to help boost numbers for ABC-TV's after-party with
"JIMMY KIMMEL Live!," which featured ATLANTIC/WMN artist Brett
Eldredge as musical guest.

for an upcoming "CMT Crossroads"
collaboration, premiering Monday,
September 3rd at 10p (ET). The show features the pair dueting on Trainor's
"All About That Bass," "No Excuses," "Let You Be
Right," as well as Eldredge's "Drunk On Your Love," "Wanna
Be That Song," "Haven't Met You," and more.
"I just love Meghan's sound – she's got a funky,
swaggy thing to her music that no one else is doing," said Eldredge.
"She's one-of-a-kind, and I'm excited to perform with her again, this time
on 'Crossroads.' We're going to make everybody feel alive. We're going to make

Kenny Chesney came into Nashville’s Nissan Stadium with two No.1s in
the space of three weeks – sharing David Lee Murphy’s “Everything’s Gonna Be
Alright,” then hitting the top of the Country Singles chart for two weeks with
his own “Get Along” – and the No.1 selling debut SONGS FOR THE SAINTS. Anticipation was such that the Tennessee
State Highway Commission opened the currently closed for repaving and repair
traffic loop for the I-40/24 and I-40/65 splits to ease the burden of traffic
for country music lovers attending Nashville’s Trip Around the Sun Tour stop.
It was a smart move. Not only did the only country
artist on Pollstar’s Top 10 Tours at Mid-Year deliver two high energy hours
that included “American Kids,” “Noise,” “Young,” “No Shoes, No Shirt, No
Problems” and “Get Along” – he broke One Direction’s 2014 record of 54,249 with
55,182 fans in the home of the
Tennessee Titans.

(7 Aug 2018) Jason Aldean and his wife Brittany are
recovering from a double blow following the deaths of their beloved dog and her
grandmother.
The pair's pet, Bentley, died on Saturday (4 Aug 2018),
the same day as the passing of Brittany's 94-year-old gran.
The Dirt Road Anthem singer adopted Bentley when he
set up home with his 30-year-old wife, who took in her "chunky
companion" when she was 19.
She regularly posted photos of her pooch on social
media, and shared a tribute to Bentley hours after he passed.
Under an Instagram message
that read: "Heaven must be beautiful because it has you", she added
the caption: "This past Saturday, heaven gained two of the most amazing
angels... My grandmother and my dog, Bentley (Mr B). This isn’t something I’d
usually share on social media, but I know many of y’all have come to love Mr B.
especially because he was such a major part of my life and in so many of my
pictures.
"He truly was the best dog, my first born, my
little chunky companion since I was 19 years old... there will never be another
like him."

Singer Maren Morris is making plans to start a family
with her new husband in 2019.
The My Church star wed singer/songwriter Ryan Hurd in March (18) and in a recent
Twitter reveal with followers, she explained she already has mommy dreams.
When one fan asked her about parenthood, she candidly
wrote: "I literally have it blocked out on my calendar next year."
Maren also opened up about a near-arrest in Paris,
France, but refused to elaborate, and revealed the best advice she has ever
received is: "Wear underwear at all times".
Signing off on the Twitter chat she conducted while on
board a long plane flight on Thursday (09Aug18), the singer wrote:
"Alright, y’all. Spilled some tea. Spilled some wine. Love you guys. I
need to do this more often tbh (to be honest)," adding, "My label
probably has constant conniptions when I tweet."
Maren also recently confessed she has written to
Carrie Underwood, asking the Before He Cheats singer to consider a
collaboration.
The singer, who is currently touring the world with
Niall Horan, admits the former American Idol champ is at the top of her wish
list of dream duets.
"I wrote to Carrie a few weeks ago (hoping) that
we could do something together," Morris said, "so, (perhaps) a
collaboration one day."
Maren, who has also teamed up in the studio with her
touring pal Niall for Seeing Blind and scored a massive hit with Grey and
Zedd's The Middle, would also like to work with Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars.
"I'd love to work with Ed Sheeran because he's
just so sentimental and composes all of his songs, so... I feel like (it would
be) a good fit," she said. "Bruno Mars, too... I think, as an artist,
I will always stroll between the country world and the pop world, because if I
had to choose, I would choose both."

Country singer and actress Jana Kramer's unborn baby has saved her marriage to sportsman Mike Caussin.
The star and the former American footballer split in
2016 after he cheated on her, but they reconciled last year (17) and gave their
union another go.
And Jana admits that when she fell pregnant in early
2018, the news seemed to bring the couple closer.
"Babies and having other kids don't save a
marriage but for us, this baby truly has been a saviour for us in a way that
we've really done our work and gotten dirty," she told People.
"We're bringing a child into this world (so) we have to be there for each
other and continue to do our own recovery work for him and me and be in a place
where we're bringing him (our son) into the best environment possible."
She reveals that she and Mike, who already share
two-year-old daughter Jolie, have been working hard to get past his cheating
scandal and rebuild their relationship, with Caussin undergoing rehab treatment
and sex addiction classes to save his marriage
