Formed in 2015, Friends Like These forged their friendship and musical collaboration under the name Outlander *, when the four guys joined forces, writing, performing at every opportunity, while some of them attended university.

The 5-piece line up was completed when female drummer, Lowri joined the four multi-instrumentalist companions, Ali, Alex, Brian & David in 2016.
* As Outlander the band won the coveted title of British Country Music Awards (BCMA) Horizon Act of the Year 2015 appealing to new-wave and old-school country fans alike, Outlander's music took cues from American acts such as Sam Hunt, Hunter Hayes, Old Dominion, and Brett Eldredge, blending pop and rock hooks with country instrumentation.

Their musicianship and engaging presence are apparent in their refined and precise live performances which have seen them perform alongside artists from a variety of different genres, including Jools Holland and His Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, Alison Moyet, We Are Scientists, and Buzzcocks. In 2016 the band also had the privilege of opening for British Pop/Soul legends and ‘Stars’ hitmakers Simply Red on their Big Love Stadium Tour at the Emirates International Stadium.
Following a series of spontaneous and experimental recording sessions, the band have established their new sound with their debut single Good Time’. The hook-laden track is the perfect introduction to their style of pop music, which takes cues from acts such as Bruno Mars, Maroon 5, and The 1975. Kicking off with a driving synth, the infectious new single has an immediacy that demands the listeners’ attention and doesn’t let up until the song’s final notes ring out. Set against this 80s style synth backdrop is an unabashedly, unapologetic modern Pop song, with intertwining guitars, powerful drums, and soaring vocals. It was a very organic writing session. As lead guitarist Alex Young says: ‘When we went into the studio to write and record ‘Good Time’ we had no set rules for what we wanted the song to be.  We knew we were onto something good on the first day when we crashed the computer! The following day we had to start again but were all caught up within an hour - we could remember every single recorded part from the day before we were that happy with what we’d achieved!’

Now the band have consolidated their creative sound they are now together in a rhythm, locked away in the studio, writing and recording a series of singles, which will follow on from ‘Good Time’ and form their debut EP.
Forget the world’s problems for a moment and remember Everyone can have a Good Time with Friends Like These.
