(23 June 2019) HACKED OFF: Helena Mace's Facebook pages Stolen
This is a WARNING to the many artists who rely solely on their Facebook page as a way of using social media keep in contact with their fans and publish their live events and music releases.

Although multi award nominated Bournemouth singer-songwriter Helena Mace has her own website, Twitter and Instagram accounts she has been the victim of having her 2 Facebook accounts (both music profile & personal profile) hacked into and stolen by a person who was illegally selling products in Helena's name. Posing under someone else's account and fraudulently gaining money is an illegal activity.

Helena built up with the help of Country Music Social Media a 4 - 5K Facebook following and she lost a 12-year-old personal Facebook history.
Facebook reviewed it and her personal page down which she’d had for 12 years. The music page had some women selling dodgy products on it.  Despite numerous of Helena's fans reporting this Facebook have done nothing apart from shutting down Helena's access to Facebook.
Requests to Facebook to investigate this have so far after several weeks led to nothing and the hackers had won.

NPR and EDISON RESEARCH have released THE SMART AUDIO REPORT SPRING 2019 that revealed the evolution of smart speaker user behavior and perceptions. Today, 70% smart speaker owners use their devices daily despite common concerns around security and privacy -- and those fears are main reasons non-owners have not acquired a device.
“We are starting to see more pragmatic usage of these devices,” Edison Research SVP Tom Webster said. “The longer people have these devices, the less experimentation they do with them — but the more ingrained into everyday life these devices become.”

(27 June 2019) Kylie Minogue feared she may struggle to keep her emotions in check during her Glastonbury gig - after cancer robbed her of the chance to headline the festival.
The I Should Be So Lucky singer, 51, was due to headline the iconic British music event's Pyramid Stage in 2005, but was forced to pull out after being diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of just 36.
She did appear as a guest with the Scissor Sisters in 2010, but says her Sunday afternoon legends slot will reduce her to tears as she will finally get to play a full Glastonbury set.
"I will remember what happened those years ago and my overriding feeling will just be of gratitude and, how fragile life can be," she told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper. "Will there be tears? Absolutely. Let's just say I will be wearing waterproof mascara."
Kylie admitted that her set will bring back frustrating feelings as she lost the chance to headline when she was at the height of her pop career.

WATCH
(24 June 2019) Critically acclaimed duo Ferris & Sylvester released the video for their new single ‘Flying Visit’.
Filmed in stark black and white, the video captures the pair performing to an empty village hall, interjected with moments of stillness, isolation and loneliness.
The song begins and ends with the simple statement ‘Bend down, come close, I love you’, and travels through a child-like yet somber confession accompanied by guitar, strings and a hammond organ.

Regarding the video Ferris & Sylvester said, “We’ve toured this song for so many months and when it came around to making the video, it only felt right to do a performance based piece. Simple and straightforward, in a run-down village hall. We wanted to let the song speak. We teamed up with Sam Parish-Rookes once again for this one and as always with Sam, the process from the storyboard to the final edit has been a total journey and loads of fun. We are so proud to have made a piece like this.”

The release comes ahead of Ferris & Sylvester’s debut appearance at Glastonbury Festival where they played a number of shows across the weekend. Download/Stream now.

The video, shot on his ‘GRAFFITI U’ World Tour which saw Urban play to over 1 million people, in seven countries across three continents, perfectly captures Keith where he feels most comfortable, on stage.  “I love performing live, I love the whole experience of getting ready, heading over to the venue, experiencing the show and the buzz you feel after. There’s nothing like it.”
Drop Top revs up a story of driving to Coachella, sound tracked by a roaring guitar lead and EDM-inspired bass and equally raucous cameo courtesy of newcomer Kassi Ashton. The track is taken from his ground-breaking #1 album ‘GRAFFITI U’ and its release follows a successful return to the UK that saw Urban embark on his first tour of the UK and Europe in more than a decade.
Urban, whose received praise from critics during his UK and Europe visit for his electrifying and ‘no holds barred’ concerts, has already stormed the charts with his 9th studio album, taking the top spot in the U.S., Canada and Australia, becoming the only solo country artist to achieve this, not once but twice!

(26 June 2019) Sheryl Crow can't believe her master recordings were destroyed in vault blaze
Sheryl Crow was in  utter disbelief after learning the master tapes of her hit albums were destroyed in a vault fire that was covered up for 11 years.
The singer/songwriter's original recordings of Tuesday Night Music Club and The Globe Sessions were among those that went up in flames in the 2008 blaze at Universal Studios in California.
The extent of the fire only came to light in a New York Times article published earlier this month and she is still trying to come to terms with the news.
"It absolutely grieves me," Crow told the BBC. "It feels a little apocalyptic. I can't understand, first and foremost, how you could store anything in a vault that didn't have sprinklers. And secondly, I can't understand how you could make safeties (duplicates) and have them in the same vault. I mean, what's the point?
"And thirdly, I can't understand how it's been 11 years... I don't understand the cover-up."
According to the Times' sources, the fire destroyed thousands of master tapes featuring recordings by the likes of Aretha Franklin, Chuck Berry, Janet Jackson and Nirvana.
Universal bosses have disputed the facts of the article insisting the extent of the losses has been "overstated", but Crow is far from convinced.
"There are many songs on my masters that haven't come out," she said. "My peace of mind in knowing I could come back someday and listen to them and mine those for basement tapes and outtakes, are gone.
