Awards Guidelines & Membership Entitlements
ELIGIBILITY PERIOD: The eligibility period for each award was 1st July 2018 to June 30th 2019.

British Country Music Association Awards Nominations Process And Membership Entitlements 
Only members in good standing of the British CMA can take part in the nomination and voting process for our annual awards.

Who could nominate?
BCMA Members. Each member could send up to three nominations per award category.
Artist members were allowed to nominate themselves if they so wish.

NOMINATIONS: Opened on 20 July 2019 and closed on 10 August 2019. (3 weeks)
All the nominations were collated and presented to the British CMA board, who drew up a shortlist for each award.
The shortlist goes forward to the voting process for members to vote.
VOTING: Voting will open on 20th Aug 2019 and closed on 17th Sept 2019. (4 weeks).
The Voting is controlled and adjudicated by an independent body and the results are released on awards night.

UK Horizon Award
For UK emerging/new artists who have had an exemplary year based on overall recognition and activity whether through album, song, radio airplay, publicity, touring, or other criteria within the eligibility period (cannot be nominated twice for this award). Artist will not have previously won an award in any category other than writer or video.

UK Duo of the Year
For a UK act made up of 2 members who have had an exemplary year based on overall recognition and activity whether through album, song, radio airplay, publicity, touring, or other criteria within the eligibility period.

UK Album of the Year
For Country albums released by UK artists within the eligibility period (1 July 2017 - June 30, 2018) (5 tracks or more will constitute an Album). In the United Kingdom, any record with more than four distinct tracks or with a playing time of more than 25 minutes is classified as an album for sales-chart purposes.

Kezia Gill leads with 5 BCMA award nominations
Derby Based Singer/Songwriter Kezia Gill lead the pack with 5 BCMA award nominations (Album, Video, Song, Female, Entertainer).

She has been singing professionally for over 10 years and is described as “a delicious mix of Irish and country influence, her sound is completely unique”
2017 saw the official release of her self titled Album “Kezia”. It received support from BBC Introducing and the title track “House Of Cards” reached no 22 in the line dance charts.
2018 was an extremely successful year, seeing Kezia win Female Vocalist of the year at the CCN Awards, and take home the Peoples Choice Award for Soloist of the year at the BCMA Awards. She once again was nominated for 2019 CCN Female Vocalist of the year but beaten out by Lynnette Marie.

As a popular member on the Buckle & Boots Australia Tour in January 2019 and won this year's Aristrocrat Entertainer of the Year quest at West Tamworth League Club during the Tamworth Country Music Festival activities.
One of the more significant talent search-type events during the Tamworth Country Music Festival, Aristcrat carried a cash prize of $2,000 for the senior winner which she shared with her band.
Kezia appeared at The International Showcase at Toyota Park joining artists from USA, Canada and New Zealand. She performed "They Fall", "Diane" Cam cover and joined Gary Quinn on "Shallow" (Lady Gaga/ Bradley Cooper cover).


On April 26, 2019 Kezia dropped a 6 track EP DEAD ENDS & DETOURS (Copper Music | Amazon UK - UK iTunes - Spotify) described as "a piece of genius" by SJ Birds Redroad FM. 
It debuted at #22 UK Country iTunes Album Chart (#709 UK iTunes all-genres) rising to a #20 peak (#527; #448 UK iTunes all-genres) the following days it was placed at #32 (below 800 all-genres and fell off the top 200 on April 28.

On June 16, 2019 Gill published Local Man's Star (>> Official Video)

On July 12, 2019 she released a single “I'm Here” (Kezia Gill/ Copper Music | Amazon UK - iTunes) to raise awareness of Mental Health. It debuted at #20 UK Country iTunes Singles Chart and peaked at #9 (#523 iTunes all-genres; #492 peak) and charted for 3 days on the UK Country iTunes Singles Top 200 Chart
The song has received 38,000 Spotify streams and she currently has 7,400 Monthly Spotify listeners.
She also performed at the 2019 Millport Country Festival and has just been announced as the first of 2 acts to perform at Country On The Clyde  2020, to be held over the weekend of the 14th-15th March, 2020 at The Ferry, Glasgow. The event takes place on The Ferry, Glasgow over the same weekend as C2C2 Glasgow and is perfect way to spend your afternoons as a music fan.
