(10 Sept 2019) Rising country star Tiffany Woys was excited to premiere the official
music video for her new single, “Hostage,” exclusively via Taste of Country. The emotional video,
depicting the volatility of a toxic relationship, was filmed in Nashville and
directed by Robert Chavers. “Hostage,” a “hard-driving breakup anthem” written
by Ben Caver, Sara Haze and Sam Ellis and produced by Bobby Campbell, is now
available for streaming and download on all major platforms:
“The ‘Hostage’ video represents something so much more
than just the lyrics of the song,” said Woys. “It tells a real, true and honest
story of something I personally went through, and it tackles a subject that
cuts so much deeper than what is, on the surface, an up-tempo anthem. This
video takes a stand for women and men in toxic relationships, reminding them to
put their well-being first. It represents courage – more specifically, the
courage to walk away from a hostage situation.
(12 Sept 2019) Multi-PLATINUM singer/songwriter Kip Moore dropped the >> official music video for his new single “She’s Mine” on VEVO, available to watch here. The song that has been praised by Billboard as a “pulsing” track that “leans on the heartland rock influences that earned him [Moore] frequent comparisons to Bruce Springsteen” compliments the new video that shows a more lighthearted side of Moore while searching for love. Directed by PJ Brown, the video for “She’s Mine” has Moore cutting up with a wide cast of potential love interests, as he navigates the search for the one throughout the “high octane looking-for-love song” (Tennessean). “She’s Mine” is the first taken from Moore’s upcoming fourth studio album and was one of the most-added singles at country radio upon its debut.

COUNTRY GOSSIP
(11 Sept 2019) Trisha Yearwood recalls awful
9/11 drama on 18th anniversary of terrorist attacks
Trisha Yearwood makes sure she and her husband Garth Brooks are together - or at least
in contact - on the 9/11 anniversary, because they were on separate coasts when
terrorists brought the Twin Towers down in 2001.
The country star reveals she was in Los Angeles
preparing to shoot a music video when her mother called and told her America was
under attack, and she immediately started worrying about her then-boyfriend,
who was in New York City.
Recalling the awful events of 11 Sept, 2001, in a
Facebook post, Yearwood says, "(My mom) was crying and frantic, and
worried that the west coast was next. I turned on the TV just in time to see
the second plane hit. It didn’t seem real.
"It was Read Across America day and he (Brooks)
was somewhere in some building in Manhattan, reading to kids. I didn’t know
where, but I knew he was there."
Trisha spent hours trying to reach the man she would
marry four years later and they both agreed to put their schedules on hold and
meet up back home in Tennessee.
"What I take from 9/11 is that when the worst
happens, we can come together and be our best," Trisha adds. "My
prayer today is that we remember the sacrifices of those who went to work that
morning, never realising they wouldn’t make it back home that night... that we
remember the sacrifices of the first responders, who lost their lives that day
trying to help people get to safety... that we remember everyone who survived,
but take the scars with them always."
(12 Sept 2019) Sheryl Crow weighs in on Taylor
Swift's masters controversy
Sheryl Crow has admitted she doesn't know why Taylor Swift kicked up such a
fuss over the ownership of her masters during her Scooter Braun feud earlier
this year.
Braun hit headlines when he purchased Scott
Borchetta's label Big Machine – which owns Swift's first six albums – for $300
million (£245 million) in June, prompting the Bad Blood hitmaker to slam the
deal and call Braun a bully in a lengthy blog post on Tumblr.
And while many of Taylor's peers applauded her for
standing up to Braun, with some even urging her to re-record the albums to
regain ownership, Sheryl isn't one of them.
The 57-year-old singer was asked about the scandal
during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live on Wednesday night, and said:
"I’m going to be honest with you… I stay out of that world. I will say one
thing about masters, like I signed with a record label 30 years ago… these
things, that’s just the way the business goes.
"That’s totally not unusual for your masters to
change hands like 9,000 times. I don’t know what the big stink was. I’m kind of
out of the loop, so I don’t really know."
Taylor previously confirmed she's planning to
re-record her first six albums to finally put an end to the argument between
herself and Braun.
(12 Sept 2019) Taylor Swift slammed by animal
rights activists for horse racing gig
Taylor Swift has been condemned by animal
rights activists for agreeing to perform at Australia's Melbourne Cup horse
race.
The Bad Blood hitmaker will sing two tracks from her
album Lover ahead of the annual event at Melbourne's Flemington Racecourse on 5
November.
"I can't wait to come to Melbourne, and I can't
wait to come to the Melbourne Cup," she told Australia's Herald Sun
newspaper about the gig. "I've heard so much about the race."
However, her concert has angered animal rights
activists, including members of the Coalition for the Protection of Racehorses,
who are calling on Taylor to cancel her show due to the death of horses in the
event.
"Taylor Swift has put money before compassion by
agreeing to perform at the 2019 Melbourne Cup," a post on the group's
Facebook page reads. "An event where at least 6 horses have been KILLED
over the past 6 years."
Demanding the star takes a stand for horses in the
same way she would for her beloved cats, they added: "Horses are being
killed for gambling profits and entertainment. If Taylor Swift cares at all
about other animals the way she appears to care about cats, she will cancel her
show and make a strong statement that animal abuse is unacceptable."
Australian journalist and Taylor Swift fan Dejan
Jotanovic has also penned an open letter to the star in The Guardian asking her
to pull out of the concert.
The star had not yet responded to the activists'
demands and her representatives did not respond to a request for comment.
