PRESS RELEASE
Country to Country; Europe’s biggest
country music festival is back from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 March 2020.
Returning for its eighth year, the festival is set to bring yet another
incredible line up to The O2 London, 3Arena Dublin, The SSE
Hydro, and venues across Europe.
CMA Award 2019 nominee, record breaker and one of the biggest
names in contemporary country Luke Combs and multi-platinum
Grammy award winning superstar Darius Rucker each headline C2C
for the very first time with multiple CMA award winner and 2019 nominee Eric
Church making his much-anticipated return to the festival.
Joining the headliners and making their main stage debuts are multiple CMA award winners and nominees The Cadillac Three, Tanya Tucker, Charles Esten, Runaway June and Jordan Davis. Making his return this year is award winning Brett Young alongside 2019 CMA award nominee Old Dominion following a major UK tour this year. For the very first time, international series Introducing Nashville will see artists including Abby Anderson, Eric Paslay and Tenille Townes take to the mainstage together for an acoustic set sharing stories behind their tracks. The C2C Spotlight Stage will also be back. Watch out for news of the full line-up in the next few months.

The
highly anticipated C2C 2020 line-up was announced at the official launch party
at Cadogan Hall on Monday October 21st during the third annual Country
Music Week in London with a very special message from the legendary Bob
Harris OBE who said: “I am so proud to be part of the C2C family. I have
been the main stage host at the O2 in London from the very beginning and have
watched the festival grow to become one of the most important and iconic events
in the global Country Music calendar. I
am thrilled to once again be hosting C2C in London and broadcasting highlights
on BBC Radio 2. I can’t wait to listen
to the best music in the world, enjoy the fantastic atmosphere of the main
auditorium, catch the excitement of the pop-up stages and meet the incredible
Country fans that make C2C so special”
Chris
York,
C2C Festival promoter for SJM Concerts commented: “C2C Festival 2020
continues to build on the massive success of Country to Country in the U.K. and
across Europe. We look forward to seeing all you passionate country fans in March
once again. We would like to thank our
partners at BBC Radio 2 and The Country Music Association and as ever thank you
for your support.”
“We
are thrilled to see the continuously growing Country fan base in the UK and for
C2C to bring such a powerful line-up of artists to international fans,” says
CMA Chief Executive Officer Sarah Trahern. “This year marks CMA’s eighth
year partnering with C2C, and it has been so exciting to see this festival and
the audience of passionate Country fans continue to get bigger and better each
year.”
C2C is Europe’s biggest Country
Music Festival. It brings three days of the best country music and programming
with performances from the world’s best country stars as well as emerging
talent from Nashville, UK and Europe. Country to Country is now entering its eighth

How the UK country media circus reacted:
The
line-up for C2C is never going to please everyone but we were all surprised by
the initial reaction. While the lack of female artists on the bill is
disappointing (and don’t forget we don’t know the reasons for that), it’s
hardly a bad line-up is it?
Eric
Church, Darius Rucker and Luke Combs all headlining. Favourites such as Old
Dominion, Jordan Davis and The Cadillac Three all returning. The legend that is
Tanya Tucker playing on Sunday in London. It’s a bit of a first-world problem
when we’re moaning about a bill that features those kinds of artists isn’t it?
Still
people are moaning on and predicting the end of C2C but you know come March,
they’ll all be there and loving it.
Charles
Esten is underestimated by a lot of people
Charles
Esten was announced as one of the Main Stage artists for C2C and the reaction
wasn’t totally positive. Some fans moaned that he’s an actor not a musician
(have they never seen Nashville?) and others believed he’s not worthy of a Main
Stage spot. Aside from the fact he’s got a huge fanbase, Charles or Chip as he
likes to be called, is partly responsible for making events such as C2C even
possible. As Deacon Claybourne he helped bring Country music to a global audience
and its popularity has increased thanks to him and Nashville. Also he was
incredible at the Royal Albert Hall as part of Country Music Week and we can’t
wait for him to prove people wrong in March.
10 Minute Country Podcast James Daykin in
association with Lyric Magazine Episode 51: James weighs into the debate following
the line-up announcement for next year's C2C festival in London.
That might be the best most consistent set of 3 headliners since the festival went into it’s 3-day format. Luke Combs is lightning in a bottle right now, the biggest selling country artist on the face of the planet, the hottest singer out there, securing Eric Church and Luke Combs is definitely a coup for C2C. Fans need to have a wider picture of the jigsaw.
This
is a great bill. I really love this festival. Three absolutely phenomenal
headliners who will put on absolutely amazing shows, high energy, high quality
and slightly different sound for each of them. C2C is now all about new music
and discovering new people you haven’t listened to before before. It is a
relentless 3 days of music and I for one bloody love it. It’s well worth
getting a 3-Day ticket

Line up announcement: The highs and lows but are we just being spoilt brats? by Zoe HodgesThe-writersroom.com
(Country
music journalist for 3 years over at Best of British Country Music and has been
writing songs a lot longer and has had press access to gigs and festivals all
over Great Britain and even in Nashville)
Well
the announcement takes time to sink in for some of us, especially when
evaluating what it means for the festival which is in it’s eighth year, and
what it means for Country music in the UK. The initial reaction from me last
night was “oh…I’ve seen all of them before…most of them at a previous C2C” but
is this just our spoilt brat phase, isn’t it good that we have artists wanting
to return to the UK?..... Then there is the other issue…females. I’m just
jumping on the band wagon here as this has caused a right kerfuffle on social
media of late! Yes there is a lack of equality in the genre…the end. However I
am going to add a but, because if our main problem here is repeat headliners,
which women could headline instead who haven’t headlined before?... So though I am worried
for the future of Country Music in the UK, I am more worried that we are our
own worst enemy.
So
before I share a few tips on the artists let me get to the point for you…
whatever you think of the line up this year, let’s appreciate what we’ve got
before it’s gone! … Read More

THE
GOOD
- I am over the moon at this years line up. I will do the songwriters and Friday. Would have liked to see Tanya Tucker but not enough to stay 2 extra days for.
- I'm
as happy as a pig in π© that The Chief is finally back
in the uk!!! Like someone previously said luke will blow the roof off Sunday
night to end another great weekend. Darius is a big suprise as a
headliner for me! My choice for a legend act was always Tanya Tucker and I'm
sure that place will be chocker when she walks on stage and chocker when she
walks off to a standing ovation!! Charles Esten on main stage π€¦♂️ beyond me!!
- Pip Ellwood-Hughes (EF) I'm going to stick up for Charles Esten here. I think he's much more worthy of a Main Stage slot than some of the artists on the bill for 2020. Nashville was a big part in helping Country music find a wider audience outside of the US.
- I am looking forward to all 3 days. Completely disagree about Luke 15 mins of fame, he'll be as big as Brad in a few years in my opinion
- I saw Old Crow Medicine Show on New Year’s Eve at the Ryman, they were amazing!
- This line up is just getting better and better!
- Thank god we have been spared FGL Mr Rhett and other pop Country tripe. Very excited. But you cant please em all
- I’m in shock at the people saying this is terrible. By far one of the best headline line ups in years.
- The headliners in particular are good I think. I nearly had a heart attack when I saw Luke Combs was there!
- Absolutely amazing line-up. I'm most excited for Luke Comb's as he was my absolute dream headliner but I love them all. The whole weekend will be epic
- I think it's a great line up. We all like different bands so it won't suit everyone. If you don't like the line up , don't go. I didnt think much of Reba a few years ago so I left, same with Kacey Musgrove and thought Chris Stapleton was a bit boring last year. I would love to see the real big hitters over here but...
- Awesome line up - roll on March!
- Best line up in a while !!!
- Roll on 2020 fantastic lineup π€ π€ π€ π€ π€ π€
- Awesome
- we have to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! x x x
- I'm thoroughly enjoying this lineup
- I think we might have to go for the while weekend!! OMG this looks incredible!! π±π±π±π±π±
- This
is absolutely lovely π₯° so excited.
- I cant afford the whole weekend but want to go Sunday. I ❤️Luke Combs
- omg
omg Luke is headlining ❤️ and Brett is backkkkk
- OMG
my dreams have come true π I need these tickets... Luke combs,
Brett young and Jordan Davis all on one stage xx
- Christmas present.. tickets for the 15th of march the sunday.. Luke Combs and Brett Young pleaseeeee
- Absolutely amazing line-up. I'm most excited for Luke Comb's as he was my absolute dream headliner but I love them all. The whole weekend will be epic. Please bring Austin Jenckes and Heath Sanders to Glasgow for the Spotlight stage.
- That’s
gonna be one hell of a Wagon Wheel! π
MIXED
- I think the headliners are fab even though I have seen all of them b4. All worthy to see again. The rest of the line up is a little underwhelming
- I’m loving all three headliners - I missed Darius and Luke Combs when they toured so happy I get to see them. I think we have to realise that not everyone can get to all the gigs so a chance to see people over one weekend is much easier. Agree about Charles Esten though Poor choice
- The Luke Combs thing is interesting to me. On the one hand it's clear he's going to put on a hell of a show so I can't be too mad at the choice. At the same time though, I'm still not convinced he's a headliner.
- I’m not shocked at Luke Combs as a headliner tbh, he puts on one hell of a show and has more than enough songs to have to skip a few out (especially having a new album out). He’s loved over here so I don’t actually think they got that one wrong.
- I’m happy with the headliners, especially Eric Church, and know I will enjoy the whole weekend BUT I still feel let down somehow, I just wanted one NEW big name - eg like we got last year with KU - to make me feel really excited and pumped.
- I’m pretty much only going for The Chief, that’s all I wanted and I’d pay £60 just to go and see him to be fair. I have a feeling that Americans might see it as a badge of honour if they get to “open the show” in London on the Friday night
- I
LIKE MY COUNTRY ROCKIN, HOW BOUT YOU? πΊπΌ Absolutely flippin
over the moon about the Friday line up. Yes I’ll be in the bar for Charles but
TC3 (The Cadillac Three) opening for The Chief - stuff of dreams for
me!! Aside from Tanya Tucker I’m personally not fussed about the rest of
the line up so will just do Friday, on my own
- Where is Billy Currington, Lee Brice, Jake Owen or Blake Shelton??? Feeling a little disappointed this year πͺ but have seen most of the acts at c2c before so know they put on a good show π€
- Old Crow Medicine Show Never heard of them! I think there’s only 2 acts each
night I actually like listening too!
- I’ve seen most of them already. A bit disappointed actually but I do love most of them. At least we’ll get to see Tanya Tucker!
- Some good some indifferent some I’ve not heard much of. But you know what; that’s what you get with a festival! I was worried this was turning into a country version of V fest!
- Great line up... but wheres the proper country! George Strait... Alan Jackson... Willie Nelson where are you guys! They'll never do this sadly. Brilliant to see Tanya Tucker finally come the UK, a legend and country music icon
- My only disappointment is there's no female 'headliner' on any of the nights. Our 2nd year having been last year. Loved the whole 3 days last time and looking forward to 2020, and found plenty of amazing acts outside the arena during the day,
- Saturday needs another big name. Rucker can’t fill the o2. Or give Runaway June a 2 hour slot... would love that!
- Lack of women is a embarrassing Luke Combs is fab but a headliner with 1 album is not a headliner
- Disappointed at the number of repeat acts, a fair few of them played in 2018!! Glad Eric is back though, it’s been too long!
- Disappointed by headliners
- When are you going to get George Strait Cody Johnson over here. Some of us have farms and can't go over to America to see them
- Love
C2C but kinda gutted we bought early birds. Not the best of years π Last night it felt like Christmas Eve waiting for the
lovely surprises, now I’m looking around for the grinch.
- Unfortunately line ups have slowly been getting weaker! Not taking away anything from the artists for 2020 but people are kidding themselves if you line that up top to bottom with other years and think it’s stronger! Half the lineup have also just been in the U.K.
THE
BAD
- I agree totally apart from EC (Eric Church) not my thing - so disappointed.
- I feel the same, it's the first time I have sat in silence all eve after announcement, way too many returning acts, it's a great line up for people who haven't regularly
- My main misgiving is that we’ve seen most of them recently added to which TC3 are way too rocky for me
- Very disappointing line up apart from Brett Young. Won’t be booking this year.
- Where are the females??
- Very disappointed in Line up for O2 next year. Will definitely not be going. This years lineup was so much better. Glad I didn't buy earlybird tickets.☹️π
- After seeing next years lineup I’ve come to the conclusion that I think C2Cs best years are behind us now.
- Really disappointed with the line up. Bought early bird tickets and gutted! Will sell my tickets to someone who does want to go
- Disappointed with line up
- Awful!
- Well, that's a disappointment
- Terrible lineup. Headliners are okay but they are all repeats. The rest of the support acts - really? Far better when it was a two day event as it is watering it down far too much now. Ticket prices constantly going up, and calibre of the acts constantly falling
- desperate
line up π€¦π»♀️
