Fans have already been treated to two powerful singles from
UK country artist Jade Helliwell's upcoming acoustic EP HOW LOVE GOES,
set for release on 27th September. The title track, How Love Goes,
and the recent single, Bad Habit(released Sept 6),
explore two very different phases of love—capturing the magic and the heartache
that comes with relationships.
The theme of the EP centres on the various stages of love:
from the hope of finding that special someone, to the excitement of dating, the
commitment of marriage, and the devastation of heartbreak.
Jade herself reflects on the EP, saying: "I am so
happy to share this body of work with the world. I had been really diving back
into my country roots when writing for this project, and I knew I wanted to go
down the organic, full-band country route for this EP."
Recorded live with her band in London and produced by Phil
Donnelly, How Love Goes leans heavily into its acoustic, stripped-back sound—a
refreshing departure from the more polished production of her recent releases.
Jade adds: "It was such a fun experience to be in the studio, live with
the band recording this music. There’s so many country elements to this set of
songs, from the lyrics to the instrumentation. I wanted something that felt
more acoustic-leaning and stripped back. The band were all so encouraging and
had incredible ideas throughout the process. I hope fans can connect to these
songs, which dive into the different ways in which love can go."
The songs on How Love Goes reflect the highs and lows of
love: "It can be all-consuming and unexpected, but it can also break
your heart and leave you feeling at your lowest. Love can lift you up or leave
you feeling left behind, but we all jump in headfirst because there’s no
greater experience in life than to love and be loved." says Jade.
Jade's fans have already had a taste of the EP’s acoustic
magic during her standout festival performances this summer at The Black Deer
and The Long Road festivals, where she delivered spellbinding sets to critical
acclaim. Her raw, emotional performances of some of the EP tracks left
audiences eager for the full release.
Stay tuned for How Love Goes, available everywhere from
27th September.

HELLIWELL TO RELEASE NEW ACOUSTIC SINGLE "BAD HABIT" ON 6TH SEPTEMBER
Rising
country-pop artist Jade Helliwell is excited to announce the upcoming release
of her new single, "Bad Habit," on 6th September.
This track, recorded with her band in London earlier this summer, is the second
release from her eagerly awaited acoustic EP How Love Goes. The
recording perfectly captures the raw, intimate energy of a live show, making
listeners feel as though they are experiencing the performance in person with
Jade and her band
"Bad
Habit" is a bold, tongue-in-cheek anthem about reclaiming freedom after a
controlling relationship. The song was inspired by Jade’s own experiences and a
writing session with Paris Adams. Reflecting on the creative process, Jade
shares, "I wrote 'Bad Habit' with Paris after discussing bad dates we’d
been on. I had the chorus idea but wasn’t sure where to take it, and after
talking to Paris, I knew this write was where that chorus belonged. It was so
fun to write."
The
lyrics of "Bad Habit" vividly depict the thrill of letting go and
embracing life’s indulgences with lines like, "I smoke, I drink, I
do the things you think I didn’t like to do." Jade explains,
"The song is about having this free time to do as you please after losing
a partner who took up all your time and maybe had opinions on things you
shouldn’t do. It’s very tongue-in-cheek, suggesting I dropped one bad habit and
now I’m ready to replace it with another."
This
single is part of her upcoming How Love Goes EP, which stands
out for its organic, raw sound thanks to the live recording process. "It
was such a fun experience to record this live in the studio with my band.
Getting to feel it out and bounce off each other was so fun, and I’m so happy with
how it came out. It’s a little more raw and organic sounding than my other
releases, so I’m excited to see what the fans think," Jade adds.
