#2. Kevin McGuire - Foreign Country (EP) (#135 overall UK Albums chart)|

Debut April 7 at #3 (#132 overall UK Albums chart)

Rocking Magpie - His latest EP starts with the gentle Alright, Tonight! McGuire’s rich voice has that ‘breathless warble’ that you normally associate with the likes of Brad Paisley or Rascal Flatts and the banjo solo should be straight outta Charleston, not Clarkston. The lyrics are classy and Classic too……as McGuire talks about a girls truck breaking down and him ‘kick starting her heart into life.’....For a young man Kevin McGuire is playing his hand very quickly; but it’s a winning hand, as he isn’t just an excellent singer who can write a fine song, he’s damn good looking too…..a triple threat that won’t be hanging around the British scene for very long.

Celebmix.com - The LP features five original tracks including the aforementioned ‘Alright, Tonight!, and McGuire’s debut single ‘3am‘ which was released last year and reached number 3 on the official iTunes UK Country Chart, proving that he has an extremely bright future in the music industry. Listening to the EP it is hard to believe it is his debut release, the songs are so polished and accomplished you would swear that it is fourth or fifth record. Kevin McGuire’s vocals are so strong, clear and authentically country, you’d never guess by his tone that he is from Scotland, he sounds so authentic you would think he is a Nashville native. The standout song on the 5 track EP is the stunning ‘Late’, which is about not wanting to fall as hard for someone.

ABOUT Kevin McGuire

Born in Glasgow, Kevin McGuire may be Scotland's answer to the Country music wave currently sweeping the UK.

Beginning his career at the age of 17, Kevin quickly went on to perform in top venues including King Tuts, the O2 Academy, ABC and The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
Over the last few years, Kevin has managed to build up a following across parts of the UK from supporting artists ranging from the likes of Union J to Deacon Blue. Perhaps this says a lot about Kevin's music, appealing to many age-groups and styles.

Now, having matured and developed a unique sound (Country-style songwriting mixed with RnB-Pop melodic ideas), Autumn 2016 saw the release of his single '3am', as premiered The Scottish Sun and championed by Chris Country. Heavily influenced by the likes of US Country music superstars Rascal Flatts, and current US chart-topper Sam Hunt, we are able to draw comparisons in the Scot's real-life emotional storytelling.

Having sold out his debut headline show in Glasgow at the start of 2017, Kevin has been busy in the studio working towards his debut EP, Foreign Country, which is scheduled for release at the end of April.

With a Big Entrance Stage March 12th Country2Country appearance kicking off his busy festival schedule for 2017, Kevin is excited to announce his latest single, Alright, Tonight!, which showcases the influence Rascal Flatts have had on his sound. More country than pop, the Kiz produced track is all about finding that special one, as Kevin puts, about ‘wanting to put a ring on it’.

He further explains, ‘Alright, Tonight! brings out the real country boy in me. It’s such a big part of my sound and what I love. I wanted to make a record with that feel-good, roll your windows down factor.’

The title 'FOREIGN COUNTRY' basically just comes from what I feel my music represents at this moment. It was a personal choice. There's a huge Country influence on my sound, but I guess it's different to what you'd hear right now in America, and traditionally in the UK too. I feel it breaks those boundaries. It's Country music from the other side of the world to where Country music originates. It's foreign Country."
