MUSIC NEWS
(14 Aug 2018) Liam Payne moves on with model Cairo Dwek
Liam Payne has reportedly moved on from his ex-girlfriend Cheryl after being spotted getting cosy with American model Cairo Dwek.
The former One Direction star announced he was splitting with the Fight For This Love singer last month (Jul18) in a joint statement posted to their Twitter accounts, in which the couple vowed to remain amicable for the sake of their 16-month-old son Bear.
Six weeks on, the British singer appears to have put the demise of their two-and-a-half-year relationship behind him after being spotted cuddling and kissing 20-year-old Cairo during a romantic trip to Lake Como in Italy.
In pictures obtained by British newspaper The Sun, the Familiar singer can be seen placing an arm around his new love interest while her hand rests suggestively on his bottom as the pair dined at the trendy Villa D'Este hotel. The couple then left the venue hand-in-hand and, later, locked lips in a waiting car.
Cheryl’s friends are reportedly worried about her following news her ex Liam Payne has already moved on.
One Direction star Liam, who has spent much of the last 18 months forging a solo career, and Cheryl welcomed their son Bear in March 2017, but decided to end things in July (18) after months of speculation surrounding their relationship.
Liam, 24, has since been spotted out with American heiress Maya Henry and model Cairo Dwek, while 35-year-old Cheryl has thrown herself back into work, including her new gig as judge on Simon Cowell’s latest TV show The Greatest Dancer, alongside Matthew Morrison.
“Her pals say Cheryl feels Liam has been living it up as single guy while she’s at home with Bear – yet she feels like she’s faced the biggest backlash,” an insider told Britain's Closer magazine
“Friends worry that Cheryl will find it hurtful to see Liam surrounded by lots of women so soon after their split. Maya also bears a resemblance to Cheryl, and her friends fear that similarity might make her friendship with Liam hard for Cheryl to take.”

(16 Aug 2018) Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin dies aged 76
The Queen of Soul passed away in Detroit surrounded by friends and family.
Aretha Franklin had dealt with numerous health issues in recent years, leading to her announcing her retirement in February 2017. Her last performance was at Elton John’s charity gala in November.

She told Detroit radio station WDIV Local 4 at the time: “I must tell you, I am retiring this year. “I feel very, very enriched and satisfied with respect to where my career came from and where it is now.”
Aretha was previously diagnosed with cancer in 2010, later confirming she had had the tumour removed.
She has 16 Top 40 singles on the UK’s Official Singles Chart, five of which peaked inside the Top 10. Her collaboration with George Michael, I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me), reached Number 1 in 1987.
Aretha has won a total of 17 Grammys as well as three special recognitions from the academy, and is one of the best-selling singers of all time. In 1987 she became the first female artist to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
In America, she has 20 Number 1 singles on the R&B charts, including Baby I Love You, Chain Of Fools and Bridge Over Troubled Water.
After releasing her first single, Never Grow Old, in 1956, it wasn’t until 1967 – when Aretha signed to Atlantic Records – that she found international fame, reaching Number 10 with what would become her signature hit, Respect.
Her most successful album in the UK is 1968’s Aretha Now, which peaked at Number 6 – her only Top 10 studio album. Her last studio record, released in 2014, saw her take on modern and classic songs by her contemporaries, including Adele’s Rolling in the Deep, Chaka Khan’s I’m Every Woman and Midnight Train to Georgia.

Billboard Diana Ross, John Legend, Ariana Grande & More Stars Pay Tribute to Aretha Franklin

Dolly Parton tweeted : I'm one of the lucky ones to have seen Aretha perform in the very beginning of her career.  She was amazing then and just became greater through the years.  Talk about R.E.S.P.E.C.T., we have it for you, Aretha.  You will never be forgotten.
"Glory, glory, glory to the Almighty! The choir of angels now have the greatest voice of all time to lead, praise and join in to sing before Jesus. I wanted to share this photo because it shows just how soulful Aretha was without uttering a word. To say I was humbled to be in her presence would be an understatement." – Faith Hill Instagram

"She could hit every note, but the greatest gift was that you felt every word. Truly the Queen. Rest peacefully, Aretha." – Lady Antebellum Tweet
"Whether it was Gospel, Blues, Jazz, R&B, Pop, or Civil Rights, Aretha Franklin was the greatest gift and the voice of a generation. She could turn any song into a hymn. She will be greatly missed here on earth, but that band in heaven just got our angel. Rest in peace Aretha." – Willie Nelson Twitter

John Hiatt returns with The Eclipse Sessions on October 12th. The 11-track set is the GRAMMY-nominated legend’s first new album in four years. Hiatt places The Eclipse Sessions in a lineage alongside two of his greatest works -- 1987’s mainstream breakthrough Bring the Family, which sprung from an impulsive four-day session with an all-star combo led by Ry Cooder, and 2000’s Crossing Muddy Waters, an unplanned and largely unplugged effort that garnered a Grammy Award nomination and also set Hiatt on the rootsier path he’s still pursuing today. “The three albums are very connected in my mind,” Hiatt says. “They all have a vibe to them that was unexpected. I didn’t know where I was going when I started out on any of them. And each one wound up being a pleasant surprise.”

The Turnpike Troubadours folk singer filed papers to end his marriage to Staci Nelson in February (18), weeks before it emerged he had already moved on with country star Lambert.
In May (18), Evan urged the judge overseeing his case to issue a scheduling order, ensuring there were no hold-ups in the court proceedings, and now the divorce is a done deal, according to Us Weekly magazine.
Evan and Staci wed in September, 2016. He apparently grew close to Miranda earlier this year (18), around the time of her split from fellow country musician Anderson East, while his band supported the Vice hitmaker on her Livin' Like Hippies Tour.
Lambert recently addressed gossip questioning when she actually started dating Felker, amid speculation of infidelity.
Indicating the tabloid rumours were unfounded, she insisted that if fans want to know the truth about her life, they should listen to her music.
"With social media, it's a whole other thing, and it's such bulls**t," she told website HITS Daily Double in June (18). "I'm thankful for the drama of it all because it gets sillier and sillier."

R.I.P
(14 Aug 2018) Gibson/Miller Band's Blue Miller Passes At 66
Artist, musician, producer, and songwriter Blue Miller passed away on Saturday August 11, 2018. He was 66.
Country fans will best remember Miller as part of the Gibson/Miller Band, founded in 1990 with Dave Gibson. The pair released two albums, 1993's "Where There's Smoke," and 1994's "Red, White And Blue Collar." Their highest charting single was "High Rollin'" in 1993. That same year, the Academy Of Country Music awarded the band its Top New Duo Or Vocal Group Award. Prior to teaming with Gibson, Miller collaborated with Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame member Bob Seger; Miller's 1990 move to Nashville set in motion his career in Country music.
