ABOUT CHARLES ESTEN
Charles Esten is an American actor, singer and comedian, best known for playing the role of country singer Deacon Claybourne in the hit TV show: "Nashville".
Born in Pittsburgh, PA, Charles “Chip” Esten was raised in Alexandria, VA and attended T.C. Williams High School (made famous in the film “Remember the Titans.”) He then attended The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, where he graduated with a degree in economics and met his wife, Patty. While in Williamsburg, he was lead singer/songwriter in a popular local band.

Esten made his theatrical debut in London when he portrayed Buddy Holly, singing, acting and playing guitar in the hit West End musical “Buddy.” In that role he was honored to perform for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, and eventually President and Mrs. George H.W. Bush at The White House. He was also very honored to perform with Jerry Allison and Joe B. Mauldin, Buddy’s original hitmaking bandmates, the Crickets.
It was during his run as Buddy that Esten first appeared on the original British version of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?,” with Ryan Stiles and Greg Proops. When “Whose Line” came to ABC, he became a recurring cast member and frequent song improvisor. Since then he has appeared on Drew Carey’s Improvaganza and toured frequently, performing live improv shows with Stiles, Proops and Jeff B. Davis.

While on "Nashville”, Esten has been honored to perform at the Grand Ole Opry and the historic Ryman auditorium. He was also thrilled to sing and officially "flip the switch" at the 2013 Graceland Christmas Lighting ceremony. Many of the songs he has performed as Deacon (Undermine, Sideshow, Playin' Tricks, etc..) are available on the five very successful "Nashville" soundtracks that have been released to date.

The country music filled show was the perfect platform for Esten to flex his talents. Focusing on this has led Esten to perform at the likes of the Country Music Festival, Country to Country Festival and in world famous venues like the Royal Albert Hall.

The singer-songwriter currently releases one single a week as part of his #EverySingleFriday project. The project celebrated one year recently and continues to feature tracks from Nashville as well as Esten originals, all of which can no doubt be heard at his UK shows this autumn.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society presented Charles Esten and family with the President’s Award for his outstanding fundraising and incredible support at their National Light The Night conference. Many at the event, including a number of the honorees, felt a personal connection to the cause. Esten’s youngest daughter is a cancer survivor, as is Alabama’s Randy Owen.

Esten's set is packed with his own work, some of the best loved hits from the show, beautiful sections where he is joined by fantastic UK country band The Adelaides plus covers reworked into his own style.
In January 2019 they toured together playing Birmingham (Town Hall), London’s O2 Shepherds Bush Empire, Bristol (St George's), Manchester (RNCM Concert Hall), Glasgow (Oran Mor) and Gateshead (Sage 2) to packed halls!

Closing the night with The Adelaides joining him for a magical rendition of Nashveille's anthemic A Life That's Good, rightly described as a benediction by Esten, no doubt left both the audience and those on stage feeling like their spirits had been lifted.
