UK CHART NEWS
Official UK Top 100 Singles Chart (Week Ending 25 April 2019)
19 April 2019 - 25 April 2019
After seven weeks at No.1, Lewis Capaldi's "Someone You Loved" was finally dethroned, its place at the singles chart summit was taken by Lil Nas X’s viral breakout Old Town Road.
With consumption soaring 27.50% week-on-week to 80,314 units (including 75,363 from sales-equivalent streams + 4,951 pure-sales), Old Town Road – which previously streaked 67-39-2 – is the first ever hit for 20-year-old Atlantan rapper Lil Nas X, and completes a transatlantic double by remaining atop the US Hot 100 for a second week.
Combining elements of country and rap, it is built around a sample of Nine Inch Nails’ instrumental 34 Ghosts IV and the vast majority of its sales and streams are for the remix, which features Billy Ray Cyrus, though OCC rules preclude Cyrus, as a later addition to an existing track, from getting a chart credit. Cyrus tweeted support for Lil Nas X when Old Town Road was axed from the US Country Tracks chart, after reaching No.19, and was subsequently added to the track. Even with Cyrus and an extra verse, Old Town Road has a running time of just 2m 37s. Without Cyrus, in its original form, it is 1m 52s, which make it not only the shortest song in the current Top 75 but also one of the shortest No.1 hits ever, with only half a dozen of more than 1,300 No.1 hits to date having a shorter duration, and none in the last 50 years.

Official UK Top 100 Albums Chart (Week Ending 25 April 2019)
19 April 2019 - 25 April 2019
South Korean K-Pop septet BTS made chart history, becoming the first act from the country to have a No.1 album, debuting atop the list with Map Of The Soul: Persona.
Technically an EP, with seven tracks and a playing time of less than 26 minutes, it consists of new material rendered in Korean, English and Japanese, and is their fifth Top 75 entry, and their fourth Top 20 entry to date.
With consumption of 26,498 units (including 4,531 from sales-equivalent streams + 21,967 pure sales) it earned the group - also known as Beyond The Scene, Bangtan Boys and Bulletproof Boy Scouts – the honour of becoming only the third chart-topping act to be born in Asia, the others being Anglo-Indians Cliff Richard and Engelbert Humperdinck.

Wife of the “Small Town Saturday Night” hitmaker revealed the news in a Facebook post, says Ketchum is retiring from touring
Dear friends and fans of Hal, this is Andrea, Hal's wife.
I know everyone is wondering why there are no future tour dates, and speculations as to the reason.

Our family would like to share the cause for this.
Unfortunately, Hal is suffering from Alzheimer's/ Dementia. He has been battling this for some time now, but because of his love for his fans, he continued performing as long as it was possible.
Dementia is an exhausting and confusing illness and now it's time for Hal to stay home with loved ones.
Hal is otherwise healthy and happy, enjoying time with his family and friends.
We all deeply appreciate how much love that you all have for Hal and how much his music means to you!
Also, a heartfelt thank you to all the incredible musicians that have joined him on this journey, with more than special love to Kenny Grimes, without whom, this last year of shows would not have been possible.

(17 April 2019) Kelsea Ballerini Inducted As Newest Grand Ole Opry Member
Black River Entertainment’s Kelsea Ballerini became the newest member of the GRAND OLE OPRY on Tuesday (April 17), when she was formally inducted by fellow OPRY member Carrie Underwood. Earlier in the night, Keith Urban made a surprise appearance to give his congratulations and perform his song, “Blue Ain’t Your Color.” Last month, Ballerini was invited to join the OPRY by Country group Little Big Town during their combined performance of the band's hit song, “Girl Crush.”
BALLERINI performed three songs before Underwood took the stage and told her, “You have accomplished so much in your career, and you will undoubtedly accomplish infinite amounts more in your life. Awards, #1s, sales —this is better than all of that. This is the heart and soul of Country music.” Added Ballerini, “GRAND OLE OPRY, thanks for seeing something in me and for believing that I’ll always love you like I do, because I do, and I will.”
We are incredibly pleased to welcome Kelsea Ballerini into the OPRY family,” said OPRY GM Sally Williams. “As evidenced by the enthusiasm of the OPRY members here tonight and the fans in the crowd, KELSEA and her music are much loved. She and her fellow members who made tonight so special show that the future of both Country music and the OPRY are in good hands."

(19 April 2019) Bandcamp Launching Vinyl-Pressing Service for Artists
Wax is back. With Nielsen Music reporting a new yearly high for U.S. vinyl sales, marking the 13th consecutive year of growth, Bandcamp revealed on Wednesday (April 17) that sales of vinyl records on the site have grown 600 percent in the last five years, with roughly 3,500 unique vinyl albums added every month.
But even with increased demand, producing vinyl remains challenging for artists. Not only is it costly and time-consuming, but it can be a confusing undertaking for first-timers. To counter illustrate those challenges, Bandcamp notes that a mere 9 percent of albums with sales on the site in 2018 offered a vinyl version. Enter Bandcamp's new vinyl pressing service, which aims to address these challenges when it becomes available to artists and labels later this year. ..Read More Billboard

(20 April 2019) Adele separates from husband
Adele and her husband Simon Konecki have separated.
The Rolling in the Deep singer's representatives Benny Tarantini and Carl Fysh confirmed the news in an email statement to news agencies on Friday night (19Apr19).
"Adele and her partner have separated," the statement said. "They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment."
The British singer, who has always been private about her relationship with Simon, gave birth to their first and only child, a son named Angelo, in 2012.
They tied the knot in secret in 2016 after five years of dating, with Adele appearing to confirm they were married when she gave a shout out to the charity entrepreneur as she won Album of the Year for 25 at the 2017 Grammys.
"Grammys, I appreciate it. The Academy, I love you. My manager, my husband and my son you're the only reason I do it," she said.
She later explicitly told fans "I'm married now" during a concert in Australia in March 2017, during her world tour.
The 30-year-old and the Life Water co-founder moved to Los Angeles in 2016, but reports have suggested they were planning to move back to their native England.

COUNTRY GOSSIP
(18 April 2019) Jana Kramer refusing to hire a good-looking nanny
Singer Jana Kramer is on the hunt for a 'plain Jane' nanny, so her husband isn't tempted to cheat again.
Retired sportsman Mike Caussin's infidelity led to the couple's break-up in 2016 and now they're back together, his wife isn't taking any chances by hiring a good looking woman to look after their kids.

In a new post on her popular podcast, the 35-year-old country star revealed she is searching for potential nannies on Care.com - and there's one rule she has.
"Not that I don't trust my husband… I just think it's not smart," Kramer said. "I mean, you look at some of these nannies, and I'm like, 'Well, you kinda asked for it, she’s kinda hot'. You know what I mean? You’re in close quarters."
Kramer then referenced Ben Affleck and Gavin Rossdale, who have both been linked to cheating scandals surrounding their nannies.
"(I'm) not saying that Ben Affleck was wrong, but you look at the nanny and I'm like, 'Well, she's really cute'," Kramer said. "You're playing with fire. I feel like some of these girls - maybe some of those nannies like Ben Affleck's and Gavin Rossdale's nannies - they put off more of a sexier vibe.
"I just don't understand some of these girls that post pictures on Care.com, because I'm like, 'Don’t you know the female is hiring?' I'm laughing at some of these pictures!
"I'm not saying post an ugly photo, I'm just saying..., 'You should dress for the part."
Earlier this month (Apr 19), Caussin opened up about his sex addiction issues in an interview with ABC News, explaining, "It doesn't come from me wanting to have sex; it's me feeling a certain way, and from my entire life looking back I just used sex as kind of my escape.
