On June 21 they were part of Nocturne Live a series of shows that are held at the picturesque grounds of Blenheim Palace every summer in Oxfordshire and supported The Corrs. The POP-Country-pop trio opened with tight harmonies and personal storytelling. Songs like "Famous" resonated with honesty, and their new track "Happier" was well-received. They covered Natasha Bedingfield's "Unwritten" and performed their Eurovision entry "What the hell just happened," delivering a charming and impressive set.
They also ticked Isle of Wight off their bucket list with a set that included a Sabrina Carpenter cover.

(27 June 2025) Bailey Tomkinson & The Locals bring a contemporary Cornish flair to the classic Californian style of Stevie NicksDaisy Jones & The Six and ‘Almost Famous’. It’s an intoxicating sound that has led to ongoing BBC Introducing support, with recent backing including being named in their Ones To Watch For 2025, inclusion in their International Women’s Day coverage, and a set at The English Riviera Airshow. They’re taking flight in the live arena too, following gigs as guests to Keane and Sheryl Crow. Now Bailey Tomkinson & The Locals soar into summer with the new single SupermoonListen HERE.

‘Supermoon’ (* Tagged ALTERNATIVE) is a confessional folk-pop single that taps into the complicated corners of modern relationships. It’s about the moment you catch yourself noticing someone else, or “window shopping”, even when you’re happily committed. It’s just a matter of instinct… but one that can lead to insecurity. That playful, honest and uncomfortably relatable theme is enveloped in a warm sound, which sees the band leaning confidently into their Laurel Canyon and heartland rock roots. Dreamy ‘80s guitars and glistening sax spark summer pop with a retro feel that will appeal to fans of Taylor SwiftHaim and Maggie Rogers
Bailey says, “‘Supermoon’ puts words to the things we all feel but rarely say — that quiet, guilty moment of noticing someone else, even when you’re happy in your relationship."
The idea behind the song also takes on more resonance with the band’s own story. Bailey and guitarist Jordan Lee Collinsare engaged, but as they joke they know how to navigate the pitfalls of being a couple in a band due to their love of Fleetwood Mac.

Ferris & Sylvester, Alabama 3 Acoustic, Lilly Hiatt, Michele Stodart, The Picturebooks, My Girl The River, Willa May, Isabella Coulstock, Ella Spencer, Jack Browning, Ben Jordan, Lauren Housley & The Northern Cowboys, Black Orchids, Mike West, and Dead Lettuce are the next wave of artists.

(27 June 2025) The British Country Music Festival 2025 have announced that TBCMF favourite Jade Helliwell, the multi-award-winning UK country powerhouse, is officially joining the Songwriters' Circle at The British Country Music Festival 2025!
With a new single out, chart-topping releases, viral fame (23M+ views and counting), international shows, and accolades from BCMAUK Country Radio, and Spotify, Jade is one of the UK’s most celebrated country artists, and you can experience her live in the Horseshoe Pavilion, up close and acoustic, this August.

(27 June 2025) Having first previewed the track on their CD EP ‘Shifting Sands‘ earlier this year, modern country duo Tennessee Twin have released the Nashville song writing contest winning song on streaming platforms.
Geoff & Victoria (Tennessee Twin) first wrote the song back in 2017 for the Nashville Music City / BA song writing contest and were thrilled when the song took first prize. The win took them to Nashville to record, and launched Tennessee Twin onto an upward trajectory that now sees them as one of the most respected original country music duos in the UK.
Wings of Red, White & Blue was written by the pair to fulfil the competition’s requirements - to describe travel between London and Nashville. Their song tells the story of an English man and an American woman who meet in London, but whose love story leads them to a life together in Nashville. This new acoustic version of the track features Victoria & Geoff on vocals, Geoff on guitar & bass, and the couple’s close friend, Exeter-based singer songwriter, Sarah Yeo, on mandolin.
The track is available to stream/ buy on Spotify and Apple Music.

(27 June 2025) Rising UK country band Wood Burnt Red (ZimagineD Arist Management) continue their “blistering rise” with the release of their most emotionally raw single to date, Count My Blessings”. Produced by Tyler Spicer, the track marks another milestone for a band fast becoming one of “the most talked-about names” in British country music.
Fresh from a string of standout appearances at C2C Festival (London)In It Together Festival (Margam), and SpeedFest at Brands Hatch, where they opened for Nashville star Breland, the band are set for a big summer. In August, they’ll perform on the prestigious Empress Ballroom Main Stage at The Blackpool Country Music Festivalopening for U.S. powerhouse Brittney Spencer, and will also take to the Main Stage at Country Calling Festival in Chelmsford — cementing their place as one of the most exciting live acts on the UK country circuit.
“Count My Blessings” dives deep into the ongoing battle with addiction and recovery. Far from a typical redemption anthem, the track confronts the emotional reality many face after breaking the habit — the emptiness, the relentless cravings, and the feeling of being clean but far from healed. It asks the painful question: “Why don’t I feel better? Why am I not fixed?”

Corey Kent’s
This Heart” (Combustion Masters/RCA Nashville) became his first No.1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. The single by the 31-yearold from Bixby, Okla., ascended two spots to the top of the survey dated July 5 with 27.9 million audience impressions, up 16%, June 20-26, according to Luminate. “This Heart” was co-authored by Thomas Archer, Blake Bollinger, Jacob Hackworth and Michael Tyler. Chris Farren produced it. The song is from Kent’s album Black Bandana, released last September. Kent’s first of three Country Airplay entries, “Wild as Her,” hit No. 3 in May 2023. “Something’s Gonna Kill Me” reached No. 40 in January 2024. “What a ride!” Kent told Billboard. “I couldn’t be more proud of ‘This Heart.’ It is everything that I love about country music. It’s got soul, depth and makes you feel something. It’s meant so much to our fans since it came out. It’s helped people through heartbreak and the ups and downs of life, and I give all the credit to my friends who wrote this and trusted me to be the voice of it, as well as the radio team who put this in front of the fans and carried it all the way to the top.” As “This Heart” reaches the Country Airplay pinnacle in its 53rd week, dating to its No. 60 arrival in June 2024, it completes the second-longest trip to No. 1 this year. Dylan Scott’s “This Town’s Been Too Good to Us” ruled the April 5 ranking in its 55th frame. Kent, who was already fronting a Western swing band by age 11, moved to Nashville when he was 17. Billed as Corey Kent White (his full name), he competed on NBC’s The Voice in 2015, on coach Blake Shelton’s team, and charted three covers on Hot Country Songs during his run on the competition. He reached the top 40 with his take on Bad English’s Diane Warren-penned “When I See You Smile.”

(23 June 2025) Sammy "Outlaw" Kershaw Caught Packing Heat At Airport Security

In a twist straight out of a honky-tonk heartbreak song, multi-platinum country legend Sammy Kershaw had a bit of an unexpected layover — courtesy of airport security in LafayetteLa. — after accidentally bringing a loaded handgun through TSA screening (Transportation Security Administration). Known for his classic hits and not-so-classic packing skills, Kershaw found himself in a surprise duet with the TSA instead of his band.

On May 28, while on his way to a string of sold out shows and festival dates across North America, Kershaw was literally stopped in his tracks when the TSA flagged his bag. The FBI joined the encore to handle the criminal offense, giving Kershaw a real-world reminder that what doesn’t belong in your luggage could turn into the kind of story that’s hard to rhyme — even in country music.
“It was early, I was half-awake and clearly not thinking straight,” explained Kershaw. “I’ve sang songs about heartbreak and hard times but not about forgetting to check my carry-on for a loaded firearm. That’s a new one!”
Kershaw was reminded the hard way — and now wants to remind others that TSA takes these matters seriously. Fines can range from the price of a concert ticket to over $10,000 and possible jail time.
I guess it’s safe to say I won’t be packing heat to my next show," he added. "Let this be your friendly PSA: check your bags, check ‘em twice. Let’s all stay safe out there.”

Kershaw was fined $5,000 for the offense.

(26 June 2025) 18% of All Uploaded Music Is Now AI Deezer has launched an AI tagging system for music streaming, with the goal of offering full transparency on AI generated tracks.  Paris-based global music platform Deezer has introduced an AI tagging system for music streaming. The DSP will now clearly display which albums and songs include fully AI generated tracks. The company recently announced the launch of its AI music detection tool, revealing that nearly one-fifth (18%) of all music uploaded on a daily basis—more than 20,000 tracks—are 100% AI generated. Although fully AI-generated music currently accounts for only a small fraction of streams on Deezer (approximately 0.5%), it’s evident that the primary purpose of uploading these tracks to streaming platforms is fraud. Deezer has found that up to 70% of the streams generated by fully AI-generated tracks are fraudulent. Importantly, when detecting stream manipulation of any kind, Deezer excludes the streams from the royalty payments.

(27 June 2025) Bruce Springsteen released “Somewhere North of Nashville” in full on “Tracks II: The Lost Albums” (out June 27 via Sony Music | Retailing at £295 for the 9-disc vinyl limited edition or just under £260 for the 7-CD set, Tracks II is hardly a casual purchase.

As well as the seven albums, the box set includes a 100-page book
HMV), a previously unheard collection inspired by the sounds of honky tonk, rockabilly and uptempo country.
Recorded simultaneously with “The Ghost of Tom Joad” in the summer of 1995, “Somewhere North of Nashville” features much of the core band at the heart of those sessions — including Danny Federici, Garry Tallent and Gary Mallaber. Adding elements like pedal steel from Marty Rifkin (later a member of The Sessions Band) and fiddle from Soozie Tyrell, “Somewhere North of Nashville” saw Springsteen spontaneously cutting material live in the studio with a full band — not unlike what he had done for the recording of “Born In The U.S.A.” a decade earlier.
EF COUNTRY 4.1/2 STARS … ‘Somewhere North of Nashville' is a late-career triumph. Springsteen has always danced around country music—'Nebraska,' ‘Western Stars,' even the storytelling on ‘Devils & Dust'—but here, he dives in with full commitment. The instrumentation—fiddle, pedal steel, harmonica, barroom piano—feels natural in his hands and the storytelling is as rich and evocative as ever. Whether you’re drawn in by the barn-burning brawlers or the mournful laments, this album delivers a portrait of rural America with both grit and grace. Longtime Springsteen fans will find much to cherish in his familiar cinematic lens, while country music devotees may be surprised to find just how well The Boss wears a cowboy hat.

cultfollowing.co.uk 4 STARS ….These are elevated standards of the country genre. Guitar-heavy work is brought up to modern standards with piano interludes on the staggering You’re Gonna Miss Me When I’m Gone and the string arrangements of Poor Side of Town. Those are the highlights of Somewhere North of Nashville, an album which uses its titular location as a chance for Springsteen to explore the roots of the genre.
