UK COUNTRY RADIO AIRPLAY CHART PRESENTS FIRST ANNUAL AWARDS
The UK Country Radio Airplay Chart celebrates its first anniversary with the presentation of awards recognising the achievements of Country artists during 2024 who have enjoyed most number 1 singles, most weeks at number 1 on the chart, most weeks on the chart in total and the highest chart reach. These are the inaugural awards in what will be an annual event.
The winners, who received their awards at C2C (Country To Country) Festivals in London and Berlin, are as follows:
Most Number 1 Singles: won jointly by Lainey Wilson for "4x4xU" and "Hang Tight Honey" and Jordan Davis for "I Ain't Sayin'" and "Tucson Too Late".
Most Weeks At Number 1: won by Jordan Davis for "I Ain't Sayin’”.
Most Weeks On The Chart: won by Dasha for "Austin (Boots Stop Workin')".
Highest Chart Reach: won by Dasha for "Austin (Boots Stop Workin')".
On receiving his awards in the USA, Jordan Davis commented: “Thank you to UK Country Radio and to the fans for believing in me and believing in my music. Building a fan base overseas is something that is really important to me and to see y’all accepting me, is amazing. It is truly very special to be recognized in the UK!”
Lainey Wilson received her award at C2C, London The O2 on Friday 14 March. Quote to follow on Friday evening.
The UK Country Radio Airplay Chart was established in March 2024 in a collaborative initiative between global radio airplay monitoring company Radiomonitor and the Country Music Association’s (CMA) UK Task Force, a group of UK industry leaders working together on behalf of the Country industry at large. The initiative was spearheaded by Alexandra Hannaby, Head of Big Machine Label Group UK and a CMA UK Task Force member.
The first genre specific radio chart to be established in the UK, the UK Country Radio Airplay Chart compiles the Top 20 songs each week from an eligible selection of new releases up to three years old, measured by impressions (the number of people each play is heard by).
