Welcome Return” —PASTE

It
all speaks of the changing face of Nashville these days, as old, identifying
buildings and ‘historic’ meeting places, especially for the music community in
most recent times have all been lost. - The Rocking Magpie … Music

In an Instagram post she shared “These songs took me on a
journey to find my light again and I’d wandered around looking everywhere but
within. I’m reminding you that yours is there too, so let it SHINE BRIGHT!
I am proud and thankful to have entrusted Quiet Town to Neilson Hubbard to produce, and everyone from my co-writers, the players and my team for getting us to today. My continued philosophy is to share my tunes and then let you take whatever you need from them. Thank you all sincerely for always being a “bridge” for me. Big love, Mindy ❤️
For Quiet
Town, her first album of new material in 12 years, critically acclaimed
and Americana Award-winning singer-songwriter Mindy Smith called
on producer and musician Neilson Hubbard, and engineer Dylan
Alldredge. Hubbard enlisted guitarists Will Kimbrough, Megan
McCormick, and Juan Solorzano, bassist Lex Price, Danny
Mitchell on keys and horns, and a host of acclaimed vocalists for the
background vocals. Smith’s talent for expressing the most human of
vulnerabilities is on full display on the new album.
An Americana Association Award winner, Mindy Smith’s songs have been featured in Grey’s Anatomy and in numerous HBO, Showtime, CBS, CW, and NBC series. Quiet Town brings this treasured musical voice back into the spotlight!

Critically acclaimed and Americana Award winning Singer-songwriter Mindy Smith’s sixth studio album, QUIET TOWN, brings a treasured musical voice back into the spotlight.

Arguably, Smith’s wisdom and insight grew out of the challenges of her youth. Most longtime fans know she was raised on Long Island by her adoptive parents: her non-denominational minister father and her mother, the choir director at their church. However, in 2014, Smith connected with members of the birth family she had never known, living in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwest Virginia.
She also found her newly discovered relatives to be musically inclined, a discovery that helped her make sense of her innate attraction to Americana music. That connection inspired several of the songs on Quiet Town, most notably in the sense of gratitude and reassurance that she offers in “Hour of My Departure,” a duet and co-write with longtime writing partner Daniel Tashian.
"Come to Jesus" was her biggest hit, receiving airplay on country, Christian, adult album alternative (AAA), and adult contemporary radio. The song charted at No. 32 on the Adult Top 40 chart of Billboard magazine.
In
2004 Mindy made an appearance at the Cambridge Folk Festival, which was
broadcast nationally on BBC Radio.
In October 2006, Smith released "Out Loud", the first single from her second album Long Island Shores.
In October 2007, Smith released a Christmas album, MY HOLIDAY. She wrote six original songs, including the stunning "I Know the Reason" with Thad Cockrell.
