Thank you to the fabulous Pete (Stannard) at Greenwave Productions for putting up with our studio brains and understanding that coffee breaks are a necessity (also for his sick engineering, mixing & mastering)”

(11 April 2025)

As they geared up for their biggest performance to date at C2C: Country to Country Festival in London UK-based country rock band Wood Burnt Red announced their deeply personal new single, "Drifting," which is now out, released on 11 April 2025.

Listen to the track on YOUTUBE

"Drifting" is one of the hardest songs I’ve ever written," shares the band's lead singer, Tom Franklin. "It’s a very personal and emotional track for me, and every time I play it or hear it, it really hits me hard. That’s something I love about music—it has the power to move us in ways we can’t always explain. So as difficult as this song is for me to perform, I want the world to hear it."

The song delves into the depths of depression—something the songwriter admits they had never fully understood until experiencing it firsthand a few years ago. "It hit me hard. It took me to some dark places, really dark places, and it saddens me greatly knowing that so many people suffer from this horrific mental illness, and so many go through it alone. I hope this track strikes a chord with some of those people, and hopefully, they feel ‘not so alone’—maybe even reach out to someone and talk about it."
The single follows the success of their previous releases and solidifies their reputation as one of the most compelling new acts on the UK country scene.

Leadership of the chart changes hands for the 17th week in a row, with Who Believes In Angels? debuting at No.1 for Elton John & Brandi Carlile, on consumption of 22,843 units (9,682 CDs, 5,548 vinyl albums, 5,266 cassettes, 431 blu-rays, 1,004 digital downloads and 912 sales-equivalent streams).

The full-blown realisation of a working relationship that started tentatively when the pair collaborated on Simple Things, a track on John’s 2021 album The Lockdown Sessions, Who Believes In Angels? consists of 10 tracks, with John and Carlile credited as co-writers of them all, alongside John’s regular lyricist Bernie Taupin and producer Andrew Watt.

It is Elton John’s 10th No.1, 34th Top 10 and 49th Top 75 album in a chart career spanning almost 55 years but only the second Top 75 entry for Carlile, whose previous appearance came in 2008, when The Story, the second of her seven solo albums, reached No.58.
John becomes the 17th act to have 10 No.1 albums, Who Believes In Angels’ coronation coming just 13 weeks after his 2007 compilation Diamonds finally topped the chart after being released in a multiplicity of new variants. He previously reached No.1 with Don’t Shoot Me, I’m Only The Piano Player (1973), Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (1973), Caribou (1974), Elton John’s Greatest Hits (1974), Sleeping With The Past (1990), The Very Best Of Elton John (1990), Pnau collaboration Good Morning To The Night (2012) and The Lockdown Sessions (2021), making this year the first in which he has achieved two No.1 since 1990.
John was 78 last month, and Carlile is 43, making them, with a 35-year age gap, the most disparately-aged duo ever to have a No.1 album.

Brandi Carlile exclusively told Official Charts: “Hello my beloved UK! Thank you so much for making Who Believes In Angels? the Official Number 1 album! “This is a dream come true for me because I got to make this album with my absolute hero and dear friend Elton John! “I want to say a huge thank you to all the fans in the UK for your support, and obviously to Elton for believing in me and championing me in such a generous way. Thank you to our wonderful collaborators - my inspiration Bernie Taupin and the brilliant Andrew Watt. “I can’t wait to see you all this summer on tour!”

(11 Apil 2025) Just over a year since signing his first publishing deal with Banner Music and Middleground Music, Nashville-based, Lynchburg, VA native, Levi Foster released She’s In Richmond,” (Listen HERE)  This is Foster’s first single off his anticipated debut album, We Made Fire out Fall of 2025. The 10-track collection was produced at Cartoon Moon Recording by the studio’s owner Ken Coomer, a native Nashvillian and three-time Grammy-nominated drummer and producer, who was an original founding member of Wilco, touring and recording with the band for eight years. Prior to that, he was a founding member of post-punk band, Clockhammer, and a member of Uncle Tupelo.
“She’s In Richmond” is a likable, mid-tempo country rock track about a musician on the road and trying hard to save money to buy a ring for his sweetheart back home.  “I was living in my van soon after moving to Nashville when I came up with the hook, ‘I’m in love and she’s in Richmond,’” says Foster. “Being a Virginia native, I was missing home at the time, so I wanted to write a song about a guy on the road rushing to get back home. The song is straight down the middle, with some ‘90s rock influence along with the vibe of some ‘70s groove bands.”

MUSIC NEWS
Popular songs are getting shorter, with Grammy-winning hits and Spotify chart-toppers all shrinking in length. But is streaming really to blame? The answer is more complex, with history, genre, and evolving songwriting trends all playing a role. It may be tempting to blame shrinking song lengths on the short attention spans of listeners in the streaming age. But music journalist, NYU music professor, and co-host of the podcast Switched on Pop, Charlie Harding, believes there are more factors at play than one might expect. “This trend is multi-variant, with lots of influences,” he told Chartmetric. “It’s not just technology, it’s not just culture.” Can Writing Shorter Songs Actually Make You More Money?   “If you are already a huge star, perhaps one could say that,” says Harding per the above. “If you write 40 songs that are two minutes long, it’s possible [people will listen more frequently] because it takes up less time.

(11 April 2025) Warner Music Nashville songstress Avery Anna announced her sophomore album, let go letters, out May 16. Watch the let go letters trailer HERE and pre-order the album HERE.
Every song on the record is inspired by real-life situations that Avery’s fans shared with her in a letter series, which has long been a safe place for her listener community to ‘let go’ of experiences that may be troubling them by writing them down and sending them off. Avery read these letters and took the general themes—anything from body dysmorphia, depression, alcoholism in the family, self-esteem, etc.—and turned them into songs, making her fans' experiences the center of the project to let them know they’re heard, seen, and not alone.

To accompany the announcement, Avery has released a new song from the project, 'danny don’t'. Written solely by Avery, 'danny don’t' is the singer’s response to a fan-written letter she received at a show from a man struggling with the weight of life and contemplating giving it up entirely. The stripped-down track serves as Avery’s letter back to him, where she pleads with soaring vocals that he keep going. The song delves into the typically unsung topic of men’s mental health. Avery expands on the experience, the ‘let go letters’ concept, and provides a trigger warning in a video she posted—watch here.

“When I heard ‘Stay Country or Die Tryin,’’ it took me back to the first time I heard ‘Ol’ Red’ or ‘God’s Country,’” says Shelton. “It’s got so much energy and is full of those little catchphrases and things we say out in the country. I absolutely fell in love with it. I’m proud of this recording—and I love singing it live even more. Hopefully, you’ll come catch a show and sing it with us.”

(11 April 2025) Ingrid Andress heightens anticipation for her next chapter as she shares the new single ‘Catch 22’. The single and the recent ‘Footprints’ are her first new music since her acclaimed 2022 album ‘Good Person’‘Good Person’ and her debut collection ‘Lady Like’ have exceeded 1.5 billion streams, leading to two Grammy Award nominations and a double-Platinum #1single in the shape of ‘More Hearts Than Mine’. She is also an in-demand collaborator, with songwriting credits including Charli xcx’s iconic ‘Boys’ and Bebe Rexha’s ‘Girl In The Mirror’.
‘Catch 22’ is a stripped back acoustic track, which creates the space for Ingrid’s naturally graceful vocal to tell a personal story. She cleverly plays on the catch 22 concept to describe a failing relationship with someone who can’t seem to grow up, still chasing the forever young feeling of being twenty-two. Listen HERE.
Ingrid says, "’Catch 22’ is a song about trying to grow in a relationship that you’ve already outgrown. Love is not for the faint of heart, especially when it’s up to you to leave it behind. The song takes place in a relationship because it’s commonly the place we see it happen the most. At one point or another, we've all found ourselves in relationships where we love and care for someone that no longer fits. We stay and hope they will change because who doesn't want someone to love and be loved by? And it’s never really ‘that bad.’ Until one day you wake up and want a beautiful life that’s much more than not ‘that bad’ and the only person who can change that is you."

(11 April 2025) Stellar alternative country artist Jennifer Alvarado releases new single "Something 'Bout A Boy." The single is now available on all digital streaming platforms, and you can listen to it HERE.
The song doesn’t just tell a story — it pulls you into its gravity. Alvarado’s lyrics cut through the noise with sharp precision, like
“Four years of putting him first / Every word he said hurt a little worse” and “Never strong enough to tell him goodbye / Until one night the truth was glaring.” These lines set the stage for a relationship marked by suffocating cycles and unspoken truths. But as the narrative shifts, empowerment emerges in the lyrics: “She always thought her love could save him / By finally letting go she found herself again.” The song tells a true story of Alvarado’s exploration of self-rediscovery through shedding what (and who) holds you back.
“Something ‘Bout A Boy” isn’t afraid to dive into uncomfortable truths, capturing the messiness of real life without offering easy answers. Alvarado’s songwriting stands out for its unapologetic honesty, painting vivid pictures without filtering the complexities of human emotion. With this track, she stakes her claim as a voice in country music, unafraid to tackle difficult subjects head-on. If you’re looking for music that cuts through the superficial, this song is a raw, emotional ride that leaves a lasting impact.

(11 April 2025) Dubbed “Country music’s newest badass” by People, Kolby Cooper returns with Love You, Goodnight—a no-holds-barred, emotionally charged album that hits like a shot of whiskey and stays with you like a scar that sparks a good story. Fueled by raw honesty, gritty vocals, and a rebel spirit that refuses to play it safe, it’s a thrill ride through heartbreak, redemption, and everything in between. StreamLove You, Goodnightnow—available everywhere HERE.
“Making this album really kicked my ass. It took longer than I wanted it to, yet we dug down deep on this one and I think it really gives a glimpse into my life over the last few years,” shares Cooper. “There’s the part of me that is focused on being a great husband and dad to my wife and kids and then there’s the other side that is trying to make this dream happen out here on the road...and with all of that I think you will feel that there is an underlying theme of brokenness on this album that maybe writing and singing about it helps others not feel quite so alone.”

NASHVILLE, TN (April 11, 2025) - Taylon Hope’s "Cold In Colorado" takes listeners on an emotional journey through heartbreak. The new single by the rising young country music artist indicates her growing talent. Self-penned by Taylon and is now available for streaming and download on all streaming and download music platforms HERE
The song is about a couple losing one another but still leaving hope that they could be something again one day. The visuals associated with “Cold in Colorado” brought the song to life. Each element enhances the narrative woven throughout the lyrics, from the landscapes of Colorado’s mountains to the intimate moments during tough times. It has been an amazing journey watching this song evolve from a simple idea into what I think is a very special song.

(11 April 2025) Acclaimed Nashville rockers A Thousand Horses have released the deluxe version of THE OUTSIDE, which features bonus live & acoustic material and the previously unreleased single ‘Til My Heart Don’t Beat’.
Originally released last year, The Outside is the band’s third studio album and signifies a turning point in their career after a period of intense change in their personal lives.
Lead singer Michael Hobby comments, “We are thrilled to release the deluxe version of our album, The Outside, and share a new song, ‘Til My Heart Don’t Beat’. This song serves as a bridge to the next chapter and what’s to come. It’s been a long time since we last returned to the UK, and I couldn’t be more excited to be back this summer. I can’t wait to see everyone!”
The album opens with the life-affirming ‘Highway Sound’, a soul-soothing track that instantly set the tone for the album. It first took shape over the course of a weekend trip to a Texas farmhouse in the summer 2021, during which the band wrote the song during an impromptu session on the porch. About the track Hobby adds it’s “the freedom of cutting ties with the negativity of the past and putting your energy into celebrating a new beginning.”
