Billboard’s Country Airplay Chart News
Morgan Wallen’sI’m the Problem” (Mercury/Republic/Big Loud) lead Billboard’s Country Airplay chart for an eighth total and consecutive week. It held atop the June 14-dated list with 27.1 million audience impressions (down 9%) May 30- June 5, according to Luminate. Concurrently, “Just in Case,” the Sneedville, Tenn., native’s latest single being worked to country radio, gives Wallen his 20th Country Airplay top 10 — 17 of which have hit No. 1. It rises 11-10 with a 10% advance to 17.7 million in reach. Plus, Wallen’s “I Ain’t Coming Back,” featuring Post Malone, ranks at its No. 32 high (2.9 million, up 5%). “I’m the Problem” is the third Country Airplay No.1 and title track from Wallen’s new album, which opened atop the Billboard 200 and Top Country Albums (dated May 31) with 2025’s largest week by equivalent album units: 493,000 in the United States.

Since the Country Airplay chart launched in January 1990, “I’m the Problem” is just the sixth hit to dominate for eight or more weeks — and Wallen owns three of them, as his latest joins “You Proof” (10 weeks at No. 1 beginning in October 2022) and “Last Night” (eight weeks, 2023). The other three such supremacies: Nate Smith’s “World on Fire” (10 weeks, 2023-24), Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett’s “It’s Five O’ Clock Somewhere” (eight, 2003) and Lonestar’s “Amazed” (eight, 1999).
Meanwhile, Wallen ties Luke Combs for the most Country Airplay top10s dating to the former’s first week in the tier. On the May 12, 2018, chart, “Up Down” (featuring Florida Georgia Line) reached the region on its way to No.1. (Combs boasts 22 total top 10s, having notched his first two in 2017.)

(6 June 2025) George Jones Statue Added To Ryman Auditorium’s Icon Walk
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Ryman Auditorium unveiled the latest addition to its Icon Walk Tuesday, June 3, with a statue honoring George Jones, who is widely revered as one of the most influential voices in country music history. The detailed bronze likeness was added to the permanent outdoor exhibition on the historic venue’s grounds, ensuring the country music legend will forever remain part of the soul of Nashville.

Pictured: RHP Executive Chairman Colin Reed, Nancy Jones, Jamey Johnson, and Patrick Moore, CEO Opry Entertainment Group
Created to honor those who have made significant contributions to the historic venue and Music City, Jones’s statue joins the likenesses of icons Charley Pride, Loretta Lynn, Little Jimmy Dickens, and Bill Monroe. Jones’s beloved wife, Nancy, and daughter Susan attended the unveiling, along with country music star Jamey Johnson, who honored Jones during the ceremony.
“The Ryman was one of George’s favorite places to play music,” said Nancy. “He truly revered it as the ‘Mother Church’ and loved the acoustics. To have his legacy live on here permanently, and to see all the people who joined us today and continue to embrace him and his music, means so much to our family.”

PRESS RELEASES

(2 June 2025) A lot has happened to Old Dominion since they dropped the fan favorite mixtape Odies But Goodies. Beyond a summer headlining major festivals, breaking records at the Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music with seven and eight consecutive Vocal Group wins and opening a bar named Odies, both in honor of their fans and the songwriting community that would drift a few blocks off Music Row after – or sometimes during – writing sessions, the band wanted to focus on music.

The result is Barbara, a 13-song exploration of what it means to be positive, to seek the light and own your place in the world without denying reality. Always ear worm farmers, the hooks on Barbara are some of their most unforgettable, but this time they’ve gone a little deeper and considered mortality, humanity and the joy of being alive in a more mature way.

(6 June 2025) LAS VEGAS, Nev. Hunka Burnin' Grace: Kenny Chesney, Grace Potter & Uncle Kracker Go Wild – Halfway through Kenny Chesney’s groundbreaking residency at Sphere, the East Tennessee songwriter/superstar is still raising the stakes and doubling down. With bassist Harmoni Kelley in a white sparkling Elvis jumpsuit and a crowd clearly primed for Friday night, Chesney hit the stage consumed by swirling sugar skulls and dancing skeletons as “Beer In Mexico.”

With friends from across the country, family and special guests, the energy stayed high. With band playing hard, the 2025 Country Music Hall of Fame electee was clearly in the zone for a show that was loose, intense and found a new level of joy for everyone under the dome. It was those high spirits that saw Chesney dedicate “Big Star” to a good friend and Oklahoma girl who chased a dream named Reba, as well as sharing the story of how personal art can be introducing a particularly intimate “Old Blue Chair.”

But it was in sharing the story of how some songs have one voice that you know is right, waiting for them and seeking out something special that the evening took a turn for the intense. Introducing one of his “best friends in the whole world,” Grace Potter emerged in a purple sparkle mini dress to perform a tender “You and Tequila” that saw the GRAMMY-nominated pair beaming at each other. In classic Potter freewheelery, the Vermont-born rocker then asked her friend how he could be in Vegas and not be singing Elvis Presley? A yowl went up from the crowd as Chesney broke into a grin that said, “Well, okay then.” What tumbled out was a freight train groove that slammed Elvis’ “Burning Love” into a wave that was equal parts rockabilly, rock & roll and pure euphoria.

(6 June 2025) Bailey James leans into the slow-burn truth of country single Good On Paper with a drawl that drips sweet, but never soft.  LISTEN HERE
The song lays out a romance that looks flawless at first glance, only to unravel with a closer look. “He drives up, you climb inside his Shelby 65 / Oh me oh my, bet the view from his condo’s high” paints the illusion. But the chorus is where the reality hits hard: “He ain’t gonna stick around long enough to be something / By the way he’s coming on you think that it was love / But he’s playing you like a wildcard / Better hide your queen of hearts / Can’t see that see-you-later 'cause he looks so good on paper / Don’t he.” James handles it with cool clarity — no vocal theatrics, just unbothered precision and country storytelling.

(6 June 2025) Jenna DeVries flips the script on “Strut” with the Rainbow Remix (LISTEN HERE), swapping the original’s country vibe for hard-hitting dance beats, festival-ready drops, and an undeniable club energy. This remix is made for Pride season — blasting through bars, festivals, and late-night dance floors where celebration and defiance go hand in hand.

The remix layers punchy synths and driving rhythms under DeVries’ powerful voice, creating a fresh blend of country camp and throw it back energy. The hard beats and electrifying drops give the song a new pulse, making it impossible not to move.
She sings, “Hate made us tough as nails / Taught us to give ’em hell / Preacher says it’s hot down where we’re going / So we might as well,” turning pain into power over a backdrop that’s as fierce as her message. DeVries calls out hypocrisy with “folks don’t practice what they preach,” urging listeners to “turn the other cheek” but never lose their edge. This remix isn’t about quiet resilience — it’s about strutting loud and proud.
The chorus, “Only country queens know how to strut,” pays homage to icons like Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire while carving out a bold space alongside modern trailblazers like Chappell Roan and Beyoncé. DeVries blends country grit with pop swagger and fierce dance energy, making “Strut” feel both familiar and utterly fresh.
She explains, “Country music is for everyone — breaking old barriers and making space. ‘Strut’ celebrates the new wave of artists and the women leading the way. It’s a hopeful, joyful anthem for anyone who’s ever felt like an outsider.”
