May 2025) – 3X GRAMMY-nominated country singer/songwriter Ashley Monroe and
rising country star Fancy Hagood announced that they will be teaming up
for a co-headline tour across the pond in August.
With
dates across Manchester,Glasgow, London and Amsterdam,
fans can expect to see two solo sets plus a combined encore. The artist presale
for the ‘Ashley Monroe & Fancy Hagood Live & Across The Pond’ tour will
take place on Wednesday, 21st May at 10am local time with general tickets on
sale on Friday, 23rd May.

This
tour will follow the release of Monroe’s highly anticipated sixth studio album,
TENNESSEE LIGHTNING(PRE-SAVE), set for 8th August.
Recorded in the wake of her transformative bout with cancer, the 17-song
collection documents her remarkable journey as a celebration of life, love and
the healing power of music.
The
project is a work of deep reflection, but more than that, it’s a celebration of
life and love and the enduring power of music to heal and make us whole. Monroe
teamed up once again with GRAMMY winning producer/engineer Gena Johnson
(John Prine, Jason Isbell) on the sprawling epic, weaving together strands of
country, folk, blues, soul, and bedroom pop with the help of a host of friends
including Marty Stuart, T Bone Burnett, and Brittney Spencer. The result
is an album as eclectic and freewheeling as Monroe herself, a rich,
multifaceted meditation on identity, purpose, and meaning from an artist who’s
learned to see herself—and the world around her—in a whole new light.

A Tennessee native, Monroe began her career behind the scenes, singing
on sessions at Jack White’s Third Man Studios and penning tunes for the likes
of Guy Clark, Carrie Underwood, and Miranda Lambert. In 2011, she and Lambert
teamed up with Angaleena Presley to form the Pistol Annies, which would go on
to top the Country Album charts, crack the Top 5 on the Billboard 200, and earn
a GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album. Monroe’s solo output was equally
lauded, with NPR hailing her work as “subtle and breathtaking,” and over
the course of four studio albums, she would land her own GRAMMY nomination for
Best Country Album in addition to performing on The Tonight Show, Conan,
Late Night, and The View.
NASHVILLE,
TN. – (25th
September, 2024) – Today, Ashley Monroe releases “There You Are”,
a contemplative piano ballad that showcases Monroe’s ethereal vocals that have
recently hushed theaters across the UK on her recent tour with Little Big Town
and during her showcase over the weekend at AmericanaFest.
The song was written by Jessi Alexander, Margaret Findley, and Sally Barris,
who Monroe worked with on some of her most well-known songs such as “Weed
Instead of Roses”.

“Sally
Barris was one of the first people I wrote with in Nashville" says Monroe. "She
co-wrote ‘Satisfied', ‘Used’, ‘Weed Instead of Roses’ and a slew of other songs
I’ve recorded through the years. Sally taught me new chords, helped my mom and
I look for a place to live when we moved from Knoxville, and truly helped shape
the way I write. One day in 2004, she played me a song she had written with
Jessi Alexander and Margaret Findley called ‘There You Are', and it absolutely
slayed me. I’ve played it and sang it just about every time I’ve sat at a piano
since 2004, and I feel it just as deep today as I did back then."
"I
sat down at the antique piano in Gena Johnson's studio and started playing it
one day, and she said, ‘I have to capture this!’ I’m so thankful she did. This
song still moves me to my core, and I am so proud and honored to share its
power with the world.”
“There
You Are” follows the release of “Hot Rod Pipe Dream”, which was co-written with
her longtime collaborator Brendan Benson and co-produced by Monroe and
GRAMMY-winner Gena Johnson. The official video for the song debuted with CMT on
a billboard in Times Square.
Over
the last year, Monroe has been releasing new music, played her first Nashville
headline show since 2015, and hit the road for a UK tour with Little Big
Town.
She
has recently released a cover of Fred Eaglesmith’s “I Like
Trains”, “Risen Road”, and her late 2023
single “Over
Everything” which Billboardcalled
“Airy, understated and clear-eyed, the song is lifted by the quiet assuredness
in Monroe’s vocal.” Monroe’s recent work has been met with praise by AmericanSongwriter,CMT,
Stereogum, and PeopleMagazine, who interviewed
Monroe about her musical “fresh start.”
In
their 2021 Best Albums of the Year coverage Vulture proclaimed, “Monroe

The Dave Cobb-produced album, which landed at #1 on the iTunes
singer-songwriter chart was featured on a number of significant end of year
lists, with Esquire, Billboard, Stereogum, American Songwriter, Nashville Scene
and more hailing the record among the best releases of 2018.
Her recent headline tour in the UK & Europe included two sold-out dates at London’s
Bush Hall and stops in Glasgow, Oslo and Amsterdam, Monroe noted the relevance
of choosing to release the first song and announce the new EP: “It means a lot to be releasing the acoustic
version of “Wild Love” while I’m in the UK, because the song was inspired by my
very first trip to London. The confidence everyone had made me feel so alive.

Monroe has established herself as one of Nashville's finest singer-songwriters,
able to conjure emotion in unexpected ways and to always find the humanity just
beneath the surface. Critical acclaim appears to be something that all of
Ashley Monroe’s albums have in common. Like a Rose (2013), which included the
sublime — and alternatingly bawdy and poignant — singles "Weed Instead of
Roses," "You Got Me" and the title track.
The Grammy nominated Blade (2015) followed with the soulful lead single
"On to Something Good. The title track stands as the centerpiece of the
album with an aching, career-defining performance, lingering over the payoff
line: "You caught it by the handle, and I caught it by the blade”.
Produced by Vince Gill and Justin Niebank, who also oversaw Like a Rose.
Sparrow (2018) turns Monroe’s life experiences into moody, orchestral
masterpieces that explore all sides of a fully formed woman unashamed of her
scars – the maternal tendencies, the childlike wonder and the sultry moments
behind closed doors, as showcased on her single “Hands On You”. Recorded with Grammy
winning producer Dave Cobb in the legendary RCA Studio A while Ashley was
pregnant with her son Dalton.

Nashville-based singer-songwriter Ashley Monroe has
announced a UK/European tour in
January 2019. The tour will include stops in London, Amsterdam, the Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow, UK and Americana Weekend in in
Oslo, Norway. Tickets are on sale this Friday, October 26 at 9:00am UK
time.
"During the writing process for Sparrow, I was inspired by a
trip to the U.K. to perform for the C2C Country Festival," explains
Monroe. "The rich cultural history of the cities coupled with a romantic
vibrancy provided the essence behind the song 'Wild Love.' I’m extremely
excited to return to Europe on this tour and perform in the places from which I
continue to draw inspiration for my music."

April 20th, Grammy-nominated
singer-songwriter Ashley Monroe will release SPARROW via Warner Music
Nashville. The album, her fourth, was recorded with producer Dave
Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson, Mary Chapin Carpenter)
in Nashville’s legendary RCA Studio A. Today, Monroe unveiled the album art for
'Sparrow' along with the track list and collaborators on the record - full
track list below.
Monroe recently shared "Hands On You," the first
song to be released from the forthcoming album. NPR Music shared the
music video for the song and said, "On that song and the 11 others that
round out the track list, many of which frame her voice with sumptuous strings,
Monroe sounds more sensitive, sensual and comfortable in her skin than she ever

The single was embraced by American Songwriter, Rolling
Stone, Wide Open Country, and UPROXX, who called the song a
"barn-burning, lusty remembrance of a night that didn’t quite end in
consummation of desire, and the waves of regret that can accompany not acting
on impulse."
Working
with some of her closest collaborators, including Brendan Benson and Waylon
Payne, and longtime friends Anderson
East and Angaleena Presley,
Monroe wrote all of the songs on Sparrow. She recorded the
album while she was pregnant with her first child. "I felt
powerful," she says. "I wasn't puffing, I wasn't drinking wine, I was
just singing."
"I knew I wanted to work with Dave," Monroe says. "All of his
records are consistently awesome and classic, timeless, old and new all in
one." Together, they shared their favourite records and music moments,
like early Elton John LPs and Glen Campbell's "Wichita Lineman,"
moulding 'Sparrow' into its own unique sonic space. "Country music is a
wide genre, and that's OK," Monroe says. “I don't even know what genre this
record is, but I know it's me."
