Michelle Wright's A Wright Christmas & More, Remastered Album Includes Three New Songs

Nashville, Tenn. (October 18, 2024) — Just in time for the holidays, Michelle Wright — one of Canada’s most successful and widely-recognized country artists — released A Wright Christmas & More (BFD / Audium Nashville), a remastered and renamed edition of her 2005 holiday album, A Wright Christmas.

The twelve-track compilation includes classic holiday hits such as "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," "Jingle Bell Rock," "White Christmas," Winter Wonderland," and "Rudolph the Red-Rosed Reindeer," among others. Though the album is a remaster, Wright couldn't help but add a few new songs co-written with several of her songwriter pals.

"Recording A Wright Christmas is one of my favorite musical experiences," explains Wright. "Instead of looking for a 'hit,' I got to record some of my favorite Christmas songs. We approached this project the same way. We added the classic 'Silver Bells,' but I also fulfilled a dream of mine by writing my own 'new favorite' Christmas songs with my friends Jeannie Seely, Victoria Shaw, Patricia Conroy, and Bob Funk, which has added more great memories for me. Wright's holiday album is one of several remasters she has released over the past few years. In May of 1992, Arista/Nashville released Now and Then, the album that introduced Wright to the world. In August 2022, BFD/Audium Nashville celebrated the project's 20th anniversary with the release of Milestone, the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame member's first new music release in nine years. Due to an overwhelming response from her fans, the label began the process of putting Wright's catalog of music into the hands of a new generation of listeners. About Michelle Wright
Like so many country artists, Michelle Wright cut her teeth playing six nights a week in clubs throughout Canada. In 1988, after teaming with Savannah Records President Brian Ferriman, Savannah Records released her first CD, DO RIGHT BY ME, in Canada. Michelle and her band set off to tour North America. Do Right By Me was a major hit in her homeland, with seven charting singles and over 40,000 copies sold.

That success opened many doors, landing her a deal with the brand new Arista/Nashville label. Arista/Nashville made Michelle one of its flagship artists, and in 1990, they released her first U.S. album, Michelle Wright. American audiences enthusiastically responded to "that girl singer from up north with the snow in her videos."

Her first single, "New Kind Of Love," became her first top thirty American hit. In 1992, Arista released her second CD, Now & Then, producing a total of six singles, including "One Time Around," "Guitar Talk," "He Would Be Sixteen," and the song that changed everything, “Take It Like A Man.”

TERRI CLARK announces first ever Ryman headline show

Yes! CanCountry icon Terri has announced her first-ever headlining show at the Ryman Auditorium on Thursday, August 29. Tickets for the highly-anticipated show are on sale this Friday, April 12 at 10 am CT here.

In conjunction with the duets album, Clark also announced (Thursday April 11) that the release of her Greatest Hits vinyl will be available for purchase on Friday, May 31, presale has begun here.

Clark’s GREATEST HITS album will take vinyl form for the first time ever, commemorating its 20th anniversary. The 14-song vinyl collection commemorates the 2004 release of her Greatest Hits album featuring her Top 10 singles, including the No. 1 hit, “You’re Easy On The Eyes.” The vinyl shares a release date with Clark’s duets album Take Two as she celebrates both the original and fresh tracks on May 31.

Ottawa, Canada,  2019 – Canadian country recording artist and current Nashville starlet Amanda Jordan was thrilled to announce the release of her new music video for her Music City-inspired single, “Driving in the Dark”, which premiered on YouTube. The single hit Canadian radio on September 30th.

Jordan said of the single, “The very first time I drove to Nashville to write, my twin brother was accompanying me and telling me about how he loved to drive at night and into the sunrise. From there, the song grew. I wanted to create a happy musical energy that captures the euphoria one feels when you first fall in love and begin experiencing the world together. It’s something you can listen to as you drive along on a warm summer evening.”

The framework of “Driving of the Dark” was crafted by Jordan and esteemed Nashville writers Phil Barton (Meghan Patrick, The Washboard Union) and Jason Matthews (Billy Currington, Luke Bryan). After heading back to the illustrious Canadian confines of Barrytone Studios, award-winning producer Jason Barry (Dean Brody, Jason Blaine) molded the song into what it is today.



The release of “Driving in the Dark” followed a wave of highlights for the radiant young talent.

After making the final ten in both the 2016 and 2017 ole Red Dot on the Spot Songwriting Competitions, she later made the finals of the 2018 Canadian Songwriting Competition for her song “Silverado Run”. That same year, she opened for Canadian superstar Brett Kissel in Sudbury, Ontario as part of his Kick it with Kissel contest and was one of eight wild cards to compete for the last spot in the Boots and Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase.

The culmination of these events prompted Jordan to move to Nashville in 2018. Besides writing with the likes of Daniel Ross (Florida Georgia Line) and Abram Dean (Madeline Merlo), she has further embraced Music City by performing as a featured songwriter on the acclaimed Nashville Songbird Tour Bus alongside notables like Trey Bruce (Carrie Underwood) and Paul Jefferson (Keith Urban).

With her status as a bright light on the country music horizon all but certain, “Driving in the Dark” is the first step towards international recognition for Jordan and it’s sure to draw equal applause in Canada, Nashville, and beyond.

Amanda Jordan continued her support of “Driving in the Dark” with a Diamonds in the Rough Showcase on September 7th in Calgary during Canadian Country Music Week before returning to Nashville. She returns to Canada in October for an Ontario media tour and single release show in Ottawa on October 19th to coincide with the Canadian radio release of “Driving in the Dark”.

Originally from Smith Falls, Canada – just outside of Ottawa – Amanda Jordan was first spotted singing Patsy Cline’s “Nobody Knows the Trouble I’ve Seen” when she was a mere 18 months old by her caregiver. By 5 years old, she was performing at events around Ottawa.

While pursuing a degree in the Singer- Songwriter Program at Carleton University, she performed for a national audience as a competitor in the 2015 Miss Teen Canada pageant before building a series of songwriting achievements through back-to-back top ten finishes in the 2016 and 2017 ole Red Dot on the Spot Songwriting Competitions, as well as a placement in the finals of the 2018 Canadian Songwriting Competition.

On stage, she was one of the winners of the Kick It with Kissel contest, which saw her open for Brett Kissel in 2018 in Sudbury, Ontario, and was one of eight wild cards to compete for the last spot in the Boots and Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase.

Even while her career continues to blossom, Amanda Jordan remains devoted to a number of social causes. She has written many songs for organizations close to her heart, such as “Carry You” for Boots 4 Pups, which trains service dogs for soldiers battling Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Away from country music, she is also a budding actress, having had two original songs used in the 2014 Lifetime film, “Killing Daddy” (AKA “My Father Must Die”), which she also appeared in.

Amanda Jordan presently divides her time between Nashville – where she has been writing with the likes of Phil Barton, Jason Matthews, Daniel Ross, and Abram Dean – and Canada, where she has been recording with award-winning producer Jason Barry.
