NASHVILLE,
Tenn. – 19x Billboard Music Awards winner and two-time 2025 GRAMMY
nominee Morgan Wallen surprises fans with an unexpected release, “Smile”
on January 3rd, originally teased on Wallen’s Instagram and TikTok.
Listen HERE and watch the
official music video, directed by Justin Clough, below:
Written by Wallen, Rocky Block, John Byron, Ernest Keith Smith, Ryan
Vojtesak and Luis Witkiewitz, “Smile” is a continuation of a theme
set by previous releases, “Lies Lies Lies” and “Love Somebody,” as the narrator
navigates life’s little moments and longings. “Smile” depicts a relationship as
we see them today through filtered snapshots: It was good to see you smile
/ Girl you know it’s been a while / It was good to see you smile / Even if it
was just for the picture.
“Lies Lies Lies” recently became Wallen’s 16th No. 1 at country radio, while
“Love Somebody” – celebrated by HITS Daily Double as a “heartbreak
hit-in-the-making,” and Billboard as an “instantaneous chart-topper”
– debuted at No. 1 globally across five countries, becoming Wallen’s first solo
song to debut at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 100 chart upon
release. “Love Somebody” led Wallen to become the first artist to have three
singles sit atop the Billboard 100 and Hot Country Songs charts
simultaneously.
After concluding his record-breaking One Night At A Time Tour in
October – which spanned 87 shows, 57 stadium shows and 10 countries
across two years – Wallen will host his inaugural Sand In My Boots Festival on
the beaches of Gulf Shores, AL in 2025. The festival, which sold out in less
than two hours of on-sale, will feature headlining sets by Wallen, Post Malone,
Brooks & Dunn and HARDY across three days and three nights, with additional
guests including Riley Green, Bailey Zimmerman, T-Pain, Diplo, Wiz Khalifa, The
War on Drugs, 2 Chainz, Chase Rice, Three 6 Mafia, 3 Doors Down, Ella Langley,
ERNEST, Morgan Wade, Moneybagg Yo and more. For full details, visit sandinmybootsfest.com.

Wallen’s Message To Fans
It’s
been a turbulent year for Morgan Wallen to say the least; he went out on the
road for one of the biggest live country music tours of 2024, with sold-out
shows across the world… he won CMA’s “Entertainer Of The Year”, and
found himself in court multiple times for reckless behaviour. But Morgan can
now finally say goodbye to 2024!
He
has been one of the most influential country musicians of the year, and often
one of the biggest driving forces in the growth of country music worldwide. In
a heartfelt video shared on his Instagram, the country star
thanked his fans for wanting to hear his voice.
Despite
his stratospheric success in recent years, it sounds like one of the only
people who doubts Morgan is himself.
Morgan
Wallen was named Top Country Artist at the Billboard Music Awards
held on Dec 12, 2024. He also got Top Male Artist, Top Country Male Artist and
Top Collaboration for his hit I Had Some Help with Post Malone.
The
awards are decided based on performance on the official Billboard charts during
the year.
One Night At A Time Concludes This Weekend w/
Two Consecutive Nights at Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium, Oct. 18-19
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – On the heels of his third
studio album One Thing At A Time attaining 7x Platinum
certification by the RIAA, this year’s leading CMA Award nominee Morgan
Wallen delivers the first taste of his upcoming project, releasing “Love
Somebody,” available now. Listen HERE(preferred
platform) or below:
“‘Love Somebody’ is a little bit of a new approach lyrically and sonically,”
shares Wallen. “I wanted to try something different, with what I wanted to talk
about, how I wanted it to sound, and we were inspired by Latin-leaning
influences. I’m really excited about this song and pumped that it is out.”
“Love Somebody” was written by Wallen alongside John Byron, Ashley Gorley,
Jacob Kasher Hindlin, Elof Loelv and Ryan Vojtesak, and was produced by Joey
Moi and Charlie Handsome (Dangerous: The Double Album and One
Thing At A Time). Craving something different against a neon-lit backdrop,
the East Tennessean singer/songwriter offers a candid glimpse at the
difficulties of finding someone “Who ain't hypnotized / By dollar signs and
blindin' lights,” as he searches for authenticity.
I just wanna love somebody Who won't leave a hole in my heart I just wanna love somebody That don’t want me fallin’ apart And I’ll be lucky if I ever find A somethin' more than just a crazy night
I just wanna love somebody
Riding high off the success of Billboard’s 2024 Song of the
Summer “I Had Some Help” with Post Malone and latest single, “Lies, Lies,
Lies,” Wallen, originally previewed “Love Somebody” on the European leg of
his One Night At A Time 2024 Tour. He later announced the
single’s official release at his history-making, double header hometown shows
at University of Tennessee Knoxville’s Neyland Stadium, where he surpassed The
Jackson 5 as the venue's largest weekend ever, performing for 156,161 fans
across two shows.
Wallen will conclude his One Night At A Time tour this weekend
with two consecutive nights at Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium Oct. 18-19. One
Night At A Time spanned 87 shows, 10 countries, 51 stadium plays, as
well as festivals and arenas across two years, and was named a 2023 Billboard and Pollstar Country
Tour of the Year.

the “2023
Billboard Music Awards” (BBMAs) Presented by Marriott
Bonvoy. The reimagined awards show entertained fans with a celebration of
music’s greatest achievements featuring bespoke performances by the world’s
biggest chart-topping artists performing at unique locations across the globe,
winner celebrations, and surprise moments. The show rolled out across BBMAs and
Billboard social channels, as well as via BBMAs.watch.
The
2023 Billboard Music Awardsofficially handed out all the night’s

Morgan Wallen took home the most trophies of the night
with 11 wins – including Top Male Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist,
Top Billboard 200 Album, Top Hot 100 Song, and more.
After
the winners were announced all day and the night’s performances rolled out on
BBMAs.watch and across BBMA and Billboard social accounts.
Taylor Swiftwas the biggest female winner adding 10
prizes on the night. (In fact, Swift’s 10 wins and Drake’s five on Sunday
night put them in a tie for the winningest artists of all time at the Billboard
Music Awards.)
RECAP: Taylor Swift took home the coveted Top Artist
award and a total of 10 trophies – bringing her career total to 39 wins.
She now ties Drake as the most decorated BBMA winner of all time. In Swift’s
acceptance speech she said, “The fact that you guys have given me 10 Billboard
Awards… I’m talking to the fans specifically, none of this happens without
you. Billboard base(s)
everything off of what you are listening to and what you are passionate about,
and I am so honored that this year you made “The Eras Tour” so magical. You
went and saw the movie, you cared about my re-recordings…I love you so much, I
feel like the luckiest person in the world to have you in my corner and caring
about the music that I make, so thank you, thank you, thank you, 10 million
times.”
In
addition to performing, the Queen of Christmas and music icon Mariah Carey was honored
with the Billboard Chart Achievement Award for the chart-topping holiday
classic “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” which was presented to her by her

artists to the top of the Billboard charts. In a first-of-its-kind
collaboration, BBMAs partnered with Spotify’s Fans First program, which used
Spotify listener data to identify the performers’ most loyal fans and invited
them to attend the intimate BBMA performances.
Morgan
Wallen
won awards for both top Billboard 200 album (ONE THING AT A TIME) and top
Hot 100 song (“Last Night”). It’s the first time one artist

with Confessions and his megahit “Yeah!” (featuring Lil Jon & Ludacris).
(Note:

Wallen Expands His Impact On Billboard’s Year-End Country Charts
One
year at a time, Morgan Wallen has increased his dominance on the Billboard
year-end charts, and in 2023, he extended that
influence by owning the No. 1 position on a dozen of the 28 lists
devoted to the genre’s commercial mainstream.
Wallen
made it a three-peat on four year-end country charts, landing at the summit on Top
Country Artists, Top Country Artists — Male, Top Hot
Country Songs Artists and Top Country Albums Artists.
He
outpaced the field on Top Country Streaming SongsArtists for the
fourth straight year.
He
also reigned on Top Country Albums Titles a third year in a row, though
the actual title at the top is different. DANGEROUS: THE DOUBLE ALBUM led in
2021 and 2022, but slipped to No.2 on the 2023 edition, replaced by his follow-up,
ONE THING AT A TIME. Wallen’s debut album, If I Know Me, gives him three top 10
entries among Country Albums Titles, finishing the tracking year at No. 8.
Wallen
lodged his first No. 1s on Billboard’s year-end country lists when “Whiskey
Glasses” propelled him to the top of two charts in 2019. He was a
double winner again in 2020, then expanded to six No. 1s in 2021, nine in 2022
and 12 this year. His repeats from 2022 come with Top Country Airplay Artists,
plus Top Hot Country Songs and Top Country Streaming Songs. “Last Night”
replaces “Wasted On You” atop the latter two lists. The three charts he
conquered for the first time in 2023 are Top Country Airplay Songs, Top Country
Digital Songs Artists and Top Country Tours. As if that’s not enough, Wallen is
also the No. 1 Hot 100 Artist and “Last Night” is the top Hot 100 Song.
Thanks
in great part to Wallen’s command in the genre, Big Loud collected four
No. 1s as a label or imprint, and his producer, Joey Moi (HARDY, Jake Owen),
took the Top Hot Country Songs Producers title a third consecutive year.
Beyond
Wallen, six other artists ranked No. 1 among the 32 total country or
country-related yearend charts. Zach Bryan ascended to the lead on three
lists — Top Hot Country Songwriters and the twobAmericana/folk
summaries — and Billy Strings owned both bluegrass charts. Additionally,
Zac Brown Band repeated among Top Country Artists — Duo/Group, and Taylor
Swift, who earned three top 10s on Top Country Albums Titles, snared Top
Country Artists — Female.
Megan
Moroney
reigned on Top Country Artists — New, and Jason Aldean’s “Try That
in a Small Town” led on Top Country Digital Songs Titles.
Republic won two label and
imprint battles, and Universal headed Top Country Albums Distributors. Warner
Music Group came up victorious on two charts, with Warner Music Nashville
claiming its fourth straight crown on Top Country Airplay Imprints and
BMI-affiliated Warner-Tamerlane taking Top Hot Country Songs Publishers for the
seventh year in a row.
Sony
Music
grabbed Top Hot Country Songs Publishing Corporations for the fourth
consecutive year.
Historically,
Billboard’s year-end charts have been compiled in December. For 2023, the chart
eligibility period was tweaked to coincide with the shift of the Billboard
Music Awards to a Nov. 19 broadcast date.
