WHAT: The Academy of Country Music® announced the nominees for the 54th ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, Country Music’s Party of the Year® on Wednesday, February 20, 2019. The awards telecast, honoring country music’s superstars and hottest emerging talent, will air LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at 8:00 PM ET / delayed PT on the CBS Television Network.

WHO:  54TH ACM Awards® host, executive producer and 16-time ACM Award® winner Reba McEntire appeared LIVE on “CBS This Morning” (Wednesday, February 20, 2019 8:00 AM – 9:10 AM ET) to announce select nominations for the 54th Academy of Country Music Awards™.
She announced nominees for Entertainer of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, Duo of the Year, and Group of the Year during the 8:30 AM ET hour block on the CBS Television Network.

Nominees for the ACM Industry Awards and Studio Recording Awards were revealed across the Academy of Country Music’s social media channels including on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram at 8:55 AM ET.

The full list of available nominees for the 54th ACM Awards were revealed immediately following the Entertainment Tonight announcements on ACMcountry.com at 9:10 AM ET.

ENCINO, CA (February 20, 2019) – This year will also mark the return of the ACM Artist of the Decade Honor which will be announced in the coming weeks. Only five other honorees have received this award, including Marty Robbins in 1969, Loretta Lynn in 1979, Alabama in 1988, Garth Brooks in 1998 and George Strait in 2009.

Reigning Male Artist of the Year, Chris Stapleton received six nominations in four categories, including his second nod for Entertainer of the Year. Stapleton is also nominated twice, as both artist and producer, for his album From A Room: Volume 2 in the Album of the Year category, which he won last year for From A Room: Volume 1. Additionally, he is nominated for Song of the Year twice, as both artist and songwriter, for “Broken Halos.” Lastly, Stapleton is nominated for Male Artist of the Year.

Dan + Shay earned six nominations, including their sixth nod for Duo of the Year. They received nominations in the Single of the Year, Song of the Year and Video of the Year categories for “Tequila.” Dan + Shay are also nominated for Album of the Year for DAN + SHAY, and Music Event of the Year for “Keeping Score” (featuring Kelly Clarkson). Additionally, Dan Smyers received 3 individual nominations as a producer in the Album of the Year, Single of the Year and Music Event of the Year categories. He also received an individual nomination as a writer in the Song of the Year category for “Tequila.”

Kacey Musgraves earned five nominations in three categories, including a nod for Female Artist of the Year. Additionally, she is nominated in the Album of the Year Category twice, as both artist and producer, for GOLDEN HOUR, as well as in the Song of the Year category twice, as both artist and songwriter, for “Space Cowboy.” Musgraves most recently won in 2016 in the Video of the Year category for “Forever Country” and previously won in the Album of the Year category in 2013 for Same Trailer Different Park.

Dierks Bentley received four nominations, including his fourth nod for Album of the Year; nominated for the category this year for THE MOUNTAIN. Additionally, Bentley is nominated for “Burning Man” (featuring Brothers Osborne) in both the Music Event of the Year category and Video of the Year category. He is also nominated for Male Artist of the Year. If he were to win for Video of the Year this year, it would mark his third win in this category.

Reigning Duo of the Year and Video of the Year winners, Brothers Osborne earned four nominations in three categories, including a nod for Duo of the Year. They are also nominated for Music Event of the Year for “Burning Man” with Dierks Bentley. Additionally, Brothers Osborne are nominated twice in the Video of the Year category for songs “Shoot Me Straight” and “Burning Man.”

Florida Georgia Line received four nominations, including a nod for Duo of the Year. They are also nominated with Bebe Rexha for “Meant To Be” for Single of the Year, Music Event of the Year and Song of the Year.

First-time Academy of Country Music Award nominee, Bebe Rexha earned four nominations for “Meant To Be” (featuring Florida Georgia Line). Rexha is nominated for Single of the Year, Music Event of the Year, and twice, as both artist and songwriter, for Song of the Year.

First-time Academy of Country Music Award nominee, Ian Fitchuk received six nominations, including a nod for Album of the Year with Kacey Musgraves as a producer for Golden Hour. Fitchuk also received five nominations across Studio Recording Award categories, including Bass Player of the Year, Drummer of the Year, Piano/Keyboards Player of the Year, Specialty Instrument(s) Player of the Year and Producer of the Year.

Old Dominion returns to 52nd Academy Of Country Music Awards with performance + Updates

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – It’s been a long road from playing house parties for pocket change to performing on the "52nd ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS™", but Old Dominion, 2016's ACM New Vocal Group of the Year and a 2017 nominee for Vocal Group of the Year, is ready. On Sunday, April 2, live from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the five-piece band of songwriters returns with a performance of their new single, “No Such Thing As A Broken Heart,” on this year's show airing on CBS .

"Last year our performance was 90 seconds,” says Old Dominion lead singer Matthew Ramsey. “It was over in a flash. We walked off stage and I got a little wobbly-kneed as it all sank in,” he adds, recalling their first big break. “Winning the trophy for New Group our first year out was such an honor, but to be nominated for Vocal Group of the Year for a second time and have the opportunity to perform our new song, it really feels like we are on a new level. To be able to deliver the message of this song to an audience of this size means more than we can possibly express. It truly is a career high point.”

Proving that they are not your average country band, Old Dominion combines old-fashioned country charm, lyrical wit and rock n’ roll grit into musical magic, and has emerged as one of the hottest breaking bands in the format, fusing clever lyrics and an infectious sound resulting in three Top 5 singles, including two No.1s.

They released their first full-length album MEAT AND CANDY, which Entertainment Weekly called a “deceptively smart, occasionally cheeky, stellar debut,” in 2015. Success soon followed and Old Dominion released their Platinum two-week No.1 “Break Up With Him” and RIAA certified Gold hit “Snapback” prior to their third single “Song For Another Time,” which also reached the top chart position.
The group released their new single, “No Such Thing As A Broken Heart,” on March 10, giving fans their first taste of new music from the band’s upcoming sophomore album expected for release later this year.
After claiming the ACM New Vocal Group prize in 2016, they spent the summer on Kenny Chesney’s Spread The Love Tour and followed that with their headlining Meat and Candy Tour, with 15 of the dates tapped as Stagecoach Spotlight: Old Dominion Meat and Candy Tour; the first-ever tour produced by the award-winning Stagecoach Music Festival and celebrated sold-out attendance on all dates. In addition, they picked up additional nominations in 2016 for CMA New Artist and Vocal Group of the Year as well as Favorite Due or Group – Country for the 2016 American Music Awards.
This spring, they joined Miranda Lambert on her Highway Vagabond Tour. Old Dominion consists of lead singer Matthew Ramsey, lead guitarist Brad Tursi, multi-instrumentalist Trevor Rosen, bassist Geoff Sprung and drummer Whit Sellers.

The pre-show event will run from 6p until 8p (ET) and will be available to audiences on Twitter and connected devices.

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will perform their single “Speak To A Girl

 Thomas Rhett and Maren Morris are teamed for their new release, “Craving You” (co-written by One Direction producer Julian Bunetta, released March 31, 2017 Amazon UK - UK iTunes - Amazon.com). From duet performances with Fall Out Boy, Zara Larsson and Nick Jonas, to guest starring on Nashville, Thomas has been everywhere over the last year. BBC News described him as Country Music's brightest star ahead of C2C 2016 Festival at The O2 which saw him on a line-up with Carrie Underwood and Kacey Musgraves.

New DO: Maren Morris has made a change. The Columbia Nashville “My Church” singer decided to get a new look just before this weekend’s ACM awards on Sunday (April 2) Maren took to Instagram to post a picture of her new hair with a simple caption that said, “New woman. :).”
The age 26-year old Arlington, Texas native and petite brunette singer, whose hair had grown down to her waist, chopped it all off for a fresh new feeling. #pixiecuts #precisioncut #razorcut

52nd Academy Of Country Music Awards Nominations

Nominations were announced (Feb 16, 2017) for the 52nd Academy Of Country Music Awards™, Country Music’s Party of the Year®, honouring country music’s superstars and hottest emerging talent.

Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley will return to host for the second consecutive year. The ACM Awards® are produced for television by dick clark productions and will be broadcast LIVE from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 2 (live 8:00-11:00 PM, ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Ten-time ACM Award winners and multi-platinum trio Lady Antebellum announced the nominees in five categories, including Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, Vocal Duo of the Year, and Vocal Group of the Year live today on “CBS This Morning.” “Entertainment Tonight” hosts Nancy O’Dell and Kevin Frazier announced additional nominees on ETonline.com.



















Keith Urban leads with seven nominations in five categories, including his seventh for Entertainer of the Year and 10th nod for Male Vocalist of the Year. Urban is nominated twice, as both artist and producer, in the Album of the Year category for RIPCORD.  He received an additional two nominations, for both artist and producer, in the Single Record of the Year category for “Blue Ain’t Your Color,” which is also nominated in the Song of the Year category.
“I’ve been a musician since I was 6 years old,” says Keith. “I just love writing songs, making records and touring. So for the ACMS’s to recognize Ripcord in such a big way today is humbling. I share these nominations with everyone in my life who made it possible—and a big shout-out to all of our fans, who came out to see us on the Ripcord Tour. Can’t wait to play for you all again soon.”

Miranda Lambert the seven-time Female Vocalist of the Year received six nominations and is once again nominated in the Female Vocalist of the Year category.  Lambert received her fifth nomination in the Album of the Year category for THE WEIGHT OF THESE WINGS. Lambert’s “Vice” received nods in the Single Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Video of the Year categories.  Also, she received two nominations for “Vice” in the Song of the Year category, as both artist and songwriter.

Maren Morris a first-time ACM nominee earned six nominations in four different categories. Morris received nominations in both Female Vocalist of the Year and New Female Vocalist of the Year categories. She is also nominated twice for Album of the Year, as both producer and artist, on HERO.  Morris is twice nominated as both artist and producer in Single Record of the Year for “My Church.”


Florida Georgia Line the reigning Vocal Duo of the Year leads group nominations with five nods, including their fifth nomination in the Vocal Duo of the Year category. Florida Georgia Line is also nominated for the second time in the Entertainer of the Year category. They received their second nomination in the Album of the Year category for DIG YOUR ROOTS.  Also, they received nods for Single Record of the Year for “H.O.L.Y.” and for Vocal Event of the Year for “May We All” with Tim McGraw.

Tim McGraw a Sixteen-time ACM Award winner received five nominations in four categories. He earned two nominations in the Single Record of the Year category, as both artist and producer, on “Humble And Kind.” Also, McGraw is nominated in the Song of the Year and Video of the Year categories for “Humble And Kind.” In addition, he earned his 13th nod in the Vocal Event of the Year category for “May We All” with Florida Georgia Line.

ACM Awards co-host Dierks Bentley received three nominations, including his fourth nomination in the Male Vocalist of the Year category.  Also, Bentley received his third nod in the Album of the Year category for Black, and his second nod in the Vocal Event of the Year category for “Different For Girls,” featuring Elle King.

Thomas Rhett earned three nominations, including his first in the Male Vocalist of the Year category. Also, Rhett received two nominations as artist and songwriter in the Song of the Year category for “Die A Happy Man.”  The song won Rhett an ACM Award last year in the Single Record of the Year category.

Chris Stapleton the reigning ACM Male Vocalist of the Year is nominated in three categories. Once again, Stapleton is nominated in both the Male Vocalist of the Year category, and the Song of the Year category with “Tennessee Whiskey.”  Also, Stapleton received a nod in the Video of the Year category for “Fire Away.”

Award-winning creative powerhouse, Shane McAnally, is nominated for three categories at the 2017 ACM Awards for Song of the Year, Songwriter of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year. The critically acclaimed songwriter, producer and newly appointed label co-president is a 12-time ACM nominee, and has earned awards in the Songwriter of the Year and Album of the Year categories previously.
"It means the world to me to be recognized by the ACM’s, especially in these three categories," said McAnally. "I will never forget the honesty in the room the day we wrote 'Vice'. Songwriters live for days like those, and I thank Miranda for being so vulnerable and allowing Josh and I to be a part of it. Producing 'Forever Country' was one of the great highlights of my career, working with country music icons past and present was the culmination of all of my childhood dreams coming true. Lastly, being nominated for Songwriter of the Year, alongside my dear friends, is truly the ultimate honor."
McAnally is nominated for Song of the Year for “Vice,” written by McAnally, Josh Osborne and Miranda Lambert, who recorded the song, and Vocal Event of the Year for “Forever Country” which he conceptualized and produced for the celebration of the CMA’s 50th anniversary, combining three iconic country anthems sung by 30 of Country Music brightest stars. He is also nominated for Songwriter of the Year, which he has been recognized for previously, taking home the award in 2013.

Snubs:
Blake Shelton despite having the best-selling album (released in 2016) with the GOLD certified IF I'M HONEST goes empty handed in the nominations for the second year in a row.
Garth Brooks currently on his ongoing World Tour, was a nominee in 2016 (and won Entertainer of the Year at November's CMA Awards), but was shut out this time, along with last year nominees Miranda Lambert and Eric Church.
Zac Brown Band were nowhere to be found among the nominees in the Vocal Group category yet Lady Antebellum who took a 1-year hiatus from the country scene were nominated – Crazy!
