Southern Halo debuts "Sunshine" music video and snag a Hotdisc hotshot debut

SOUTHERN HALO Lights Up The Beaches & Boardwalks With New Music Video, "Sunshine"

Cut Offs, Camaraderie & Cold Ones Make For Vibrant Viewing

Nashville, TN (June 7, 2019) -- Southern Halo lights up the beaches and the boardwalks in their new music video, "Sunshine." The clip brings to life the perfect coastal summer with cut offs, camaraderie and cold ones - making for vibrant viewing while providing a singalong vibe.

Release Date: 12 April 2019
Label: Southern Halo LLC
Time: 2:44 Genres: Country
A companion to the trio's latest MusicRow CountryBreakOutchart single, the "Sunshine" video was produced by Ryan Slattery (Jackson Gillies, John Jack) and filmed at Santa Rosa and Seagrove beaches in Florida for RJ Slatts Productions

The video opens with rotating ocean views and the gentle whisper of the waves in the golden sunlight of dawn, then explodes like a 4th of July fireworks display as the soundtrack begins. Flaming sunsets offset dynamic cutaways to performance imagery and casual shots of the Morris sisters at play in the sea and on the sand. The camera work is crisp and the siblings offer up enough energy to power a small city, lighting up the beaches and boardwalks as they go. The video premiered via Morning Hangover .

“Sunshine” is being promoted across Europe of the promotion Hotdisc (#246 May 2019) which is a list of the Top 40 Most Popular Songs released on the Hotdisc promotional CD. Each week DJs and media people who receive the album send back their reaction sheets where they are given the chance to rate every song. It has snagged a Hotdisc Hot Shot debut at No.12 (chart dated June 9, 2019) and looks like being another big hit.

They have previously landed 3 Hotdisc No.1s with “I Think Too Much(Sept 23, 2018; 4-weeks at No.1), “Rewind” (July 24, 2016; 2-weeks at No.1) and the smash “Little White Dress” (Nov 15, 2015; 8-weeks at No.1).

"Sunshine" was written by Love and Theft's Stephen B. Liles and Eric Gunderson and Southern Halo's lead singer/songwriter Natalia. The track was produced by Catt Gravitt. Fans can purchase the single now, and catch the band live:

Southern Halo delivers summer escape with "Sunshine"

Southern Halo Delivers Summer Escape with "Sunshine"

Nashville, TN (April 9, 2019) - Southern Halo delivers a summer escape with "Sunshine," a groove-oriented, electrified wave of sound that lifts the listener out of the winter doldrums with high-energy musicianship and dynamic sibling harmonies. Written by Love and Theft's Stephen B. Liles and Eric Gunderson, along with Southern Halo's lead singer/songwriter Natalia Morris, the track was produced by Catt Gravitt.

Release Date: 12 April 2019

Label: Southern Halo LLC
Time: 2:44

Genres: Country

The single docked at Country radio via PLAY MPE and is available for pre-order and Spotify "pre-save" now, and for purchase across all platforms on Friday, April 12. "Sunshine" premiered on The Country Note.

And I almost feel the sand on my feet
Laid back chillin' with an ice-cold drink
There won't be no worries, won't be thinkin' about time
Just sippin' by the water in some sunshine
I could use a little bit of sunshine (Morris/Liles/Gunderson)

The writers met up in the chill of January, and all three were longing for warmer weather. "The first verse almost wrote itself," recalls Natalia. "Stephen and Eric immediately created a great, upbeat groove that was perfectly jamming to the theme, so running with it and telling a story of that vacation to escape felt natural. We love it and hope we'll get to meet up with Love and Theft on the road again soon so we can sing it together live."

Southern Halo will have lots of chances to catch up with their platinum-selling friends as they ramp up a touring schedule that includes shows:

4/13 - Clarksdale, MS - Juke Joint Festival

ABOUT SOUTHERN HALO
Since their hypnotically-upbeat Country radio debut, "Little White Dress," caught the attention of U.S. radio and press (spending eight weeks at #1 on the International Hotdisc Chart) this sibling trio has broken down doors and shattered glass ceilings.  Their sophomore single, "Rewind," was a U.S. Top 40 MusicRow CountryBreakout™ Chart hit that also held the #1 spot on the Hotdisc Chart for two weeks.  The group's third single, "Living Like That," quickly found success of its own, and further bolstered the trio's profile.  It's been a fast ride to the big stage for these Delta darlings.   Since landing in the National Finals of the 2014 Texaco Country Showdown as the youngest competitors ever, the band has opened for Maren Morris, Deana Carter,  Love and Theft, Brantley Gilbert, Eric Paslay, Tyler Farr, Parmalee, Old Dominion, American Young, B lues immortal B.B. King and legendary chanteuse Dionne Warwick, among many others.  The Cleveland, Mississippi natives have performed at the CMA Music Festival, at a pre-show on the rooftop terrace of the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles and launched Townsquare Media's "Say It With Pepsi" Concert Series.

Southern Halo's Spirit of Giving Continues

With Performances & Visits In Tennessee, Mississippi

Nashville, TN (December 3, 2018) - Southern Halo's sweet spirit of giving continues with performances and visits to hospitalized children this month. On December 6, the trio will visit Monroe Carell Jr Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt for the annual "River of Hope Radiothon," hosted by 107.5 The Riverand broadcast from Seacrest Studiosat the Hospital. December 13, they will be in Jackson, MS at Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital.

These appearances mark a repeat outreach by Southern Halo on behalf of both organizations. In 2016, the band performed and rode in the 63rd Annual Piedmont Natural Gas Nashville Christmas Parade to help raise funds for Vanderbilt and joined the Mississippi National Guard to sing Christmas carols and visit with Santa at Batson's. "We are thrilled to be going back and sharing the spirit of the season with these kids," notes Natalia Morris, the group's principal songwriter. "Our mom always told us that the best gift is the one you give," says 19-year-old drummer Christina. "And we get back way more than we give," chimes in Hannah, the youngest member at 18 and the group's bass player.

The giving spirit is one the trio embraces: they've just completed a round of shows for High School Nation Tour which supports arts education in public high schools, and guested on the Backstage Pass Series, an educational endeavour targeting grade schoolers, at GRAMMY Museum Mississippi.

Southern Halo has also been visiting radio stations around the country to promote their current single, "I Think Too Much," from their album, JUST LIKE IN THE MOVIES.

Their hard work is paying off and the track is moving rapidly up both the MusicRow CountryBreakOut (currently @ #48) and Billboard Indicator (currently @ #51) charts. Over the past few weeks, the sisters have visited stations in Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee, Texas, Wisconsin, and West Virginia. They headlined the inaugural Front Porch Music Series show at GRAMMY Museum Mississippi last month. The band will hit the road for more promotional visits the week of December 10 before taking off to celebrate the holidays from December 17 - December 30.

"This has been a busy year for us," notes Natalia. "We've been on the road constantly, and while we love it and are so grateful to our fans, it will be nice to just chill out, spend some time with the family, and keep up our holiday traditions." The Morris family's customs include decorating their fresh-cut Christmas tree (this year an 18-foot Douglas Fir) with a multitude of handmade ornaments, baking chocolate chip, sugar, and chocolate lava cookies, and watching Christmas movies, including "Elf" and "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation."

Southern Halo launches new single, Lyric Video "I Think Too Much"

Nashville, TN (September 10, 2018)
Southern Halo's newest single, the catchy "I Think Too Much," has impacted radio. The much-anticipated follow-up to their Top 50 Billboard Indicator / Top 25 MusicRow single "Anything Is Possible," the track is from their current album, JUST LIKE IN THE MOVIES. Written by Nashville hitmaker Roxie Dean and the band's own Natalia Morris, "I Think Too Much" is a jaunty, singalong that ponders new love and obsession. What am I gonna wear?
How should I do my hair?
What am I gonna say?
I hope he isn't late.
Dab a little perfume on
Don't wanna come on strong
This is ridiculous
I'm thinking way too much (Dean/Morris)

The upbeat single is complimented by an engaging companion lyric video premiered on YouTube.

Southern Halo's story arc expands as new CD, Just Like In The Movies, hits stores April 27

SOUTHERN HALO's Story Arc Expands As New CD,
JUST LIKE IN THE MOVIES, Hits Stores April 27

Dream-Inspired Concept Disc Available For Pre-Order Now

Nashville, TN (March 9, 2018) -- SOUTHERN HALO 's story arc expands with the April 27 release of their latest CD, the concept-driven, dream-inspired JUST LIKE IN THE MOVIES. This 14-track package, produced by Catt Gravitt and Gerald O'Brien, mirrors the emotional and musical growth of Natalia, Hannah and Christina Morris, the three sisters from the Mississippi Delta who form SOUTHERN HALO.

Inspired by a dream of Natalia's, JUST LIKE IN THE MOVIES features 10 songs written or co-written by the lead vocalist/guitarist, and four titles from Music City's hottest tunesmiths. The catchy ode to the glories of Southern womanhood, "Southern Halo," kicks off the project and marks the first "scene" of this movie-made-music.  A co-write with Roxie Dean, the strong, multi-layered vocals and sing-along chorus make this a natural choice for the first "instant gratification track" offered with each iTunes and Amazon pre-order of the CD.  The disc is the second outing for the trio with SESAC's 2012 Writer of the Year Catt Gravitt (Kelly Clarkson, Jake Owen) and Gerald O'Brien (Martina McBride, Trace Adkins) at the helm.

Continuing the album's theme is the first single "Anything Is Possible."  Written by Gravitt and award-winning songwriter/producer Carl Falk, the hooky, upbeat track is a veritable anthem to the power of positive thinking and is already resonating at Country radio.  A lyric video, featuring performance footage, can be seen:

JUST LIKE IN THE MOVIES explores the excitement found and challenges faced when chasing one's dream.  The eagerness to experience new places is offset by the longing for the constant comforts of home, while the idea that anyone can indeed reach for the stars is reinforced.  Natalia, Hannah and Christina continue to prove that dreams do come true - if you work hard and believe.  Highlights abound, and the tracks range from Rock-ish ("My Girls & Me") to beautifully poignant ("Not Today") to confrontational ("Hey Boy").

The album's title track is a Pop/Rock-infused, modern-day fairytale that features underscored Rap-style background vocals and a sultry yet whimsical feel.  Written by Gravitt, Jana Kramer and Brian Kierulf, "Just Like In The Movies" showcases SOUTHERN HALO's diversity and their fearless approach to music.  The track was singled in the U.K. late last year and enjoyed enormous success.

"Missing Mississippi," written by Natalia and Jennifer Adan, slows things down with the true tale of Natalia's first night in her new Nashville home.  Sweet, reflective and emotional, the song shows that sacrifices are always made in pursuit of the dreams that inspire us.  Another track that shines the light on leaving, "Famous" tells the tale of the loneliness that can surround stardom.  Penned with Alex Dooley, the message is deep - and partially hidden by a seductive melody.   "Tom Girl," written with Melissa Boella Rowe, describes a character familiar to the Morris sisters: someone who loves to get their hands dirty, but also loves to dress up for special occasions.  As Natalia says, "everyone talks about 'tom boys' or 'girly girls' - no one ever talks about 'tom girls.'  Christina loves fishing while Hannah rides horses and I enjoy building projects in our backyard, but we love to get prettied up for a night out.  We're all 'tom girls.'"

Tom girls they may be, but Natalia, Hannah and Christina are all driven by the same dream. Music inspired SOUTHERN HALO; now their songs are inspiring young Country fans everywhere.  Drummer Christina and bassist Hannah are still in their late teens, and Natalia just recently crossed over into her early 20s.  They're exploring, challenging themselves to take risks and raise their bar - and JUST LIKE IN THE MOVIES proves they have reached new heights - and they are proud of it.  This new album is poised to follow the phenomenal success of their previous, eponymous CD, and is sure to bring new listeners to the fold as it breaks new ground for the trio.
