William Prince returns today with the announcement of his expansive and
deeply personal new studio album, FURTHER FROM THE COUNTRY, due
out October 17 via Six Shooter Records.
The
news arrives alongside 'On Rolls the Wheel', the album’s
powerful first single and the most rocking track of Prince’s career to date.
Fueled by a highway-ready groove and fuzzed-out guitars, the song drives home

“This
song is about ever-moving life,” says Prince. “Sometimes it’s easier to
subtract the lonely miles left in the journey than to think about how far
you’ve already gone. I really started to process the idea of distance traveled
when I started to make my way back to venues across the USA, where my name was
on the wall from the previous show. The truth is that life is going to continue
long after I’m gone, so why stress about what I can’t control? I feel the most
in control when I’m focused on being the best artist I can be. To keep the
wheels rolling, I need to take care of myself and enjoy the journey.”
With
Further From the Country, Prince expands his sound and perspective with
a commanding body of work that explores grief, identity, and ambition through
the lens of his upbringing in Peguis First Nation, Manitoba. Raised in a
close-knit Indigenous community and shaped by deep musical traditions, Prince’s
new songs draw on childhood memories—both joyful and difficult—as a way to
process the injustices and complexities of today’s world.
The
album’s title track, a soaring opener that moves like a rocket breaking through
gravity’s pull, sets the tone for a project that is equal parts panoramic and
intimate. From the dusty highways of 'On Rolls the Wheel' to the poignant
family portraits in 'For the First Time' and 'The Charmer', Prince’s
songwriting once again proves to be both acutely unique and universally
resonant.

From the Country
is produced by Liam Duncan (aka Boy Golden), Prince’s labelmate and
trusted creative partner, who also worked with Prince on his Spotify Singles
Session in 2023. Together, they crafted a rich sonic landscape with
contributions from Prince’s longtime bandmates and members of Duncan’s “Church
of Better Daze” collective. The album was recorded in Winnipeg and features
performances from a hometown ensemble including Alyshia Grace, Cody Iwasiuk,
Ben Plotnick, Kristopher Ulrich, and more.

Following
his previous LP Stand in the Joy, produced by Dave Cobb (Chris
Stapleton, Brandi Carlile), Prince continues to elevate his craft with Further
From the Country. He has performed on CBS Saturday Morning, NPR’s
Tiny Desk, and stages ranging from Newport Folk Festival, Stagecoach, and
The Grand Ole Opry to opening slots for Neil Young, Willie Nelson, and
The War and Treaty, in addition to landing songs in Yellowstone and
more. In 2024, Prince was nominated for Emerging Artist of the Year at the
Americana Honors & Awards. He’s also a two-time JUNO Award-winning artist.

now. Written by Profitt, Matt Rogers and Lindsay Rimes, the autobiographical
track shines a big spotlight on the singer’s small town and the
beer-swiggin’, SEC game-watchin’, Jesus-lovin’ people who make it up.Profitt
was born and raised in Columbia, Tennessee, where until recently he worked for
the city mowing ditches. He pays homage to his blue-collar life in the artwork
for “Long Live Country”
and couldn’t be prouder of the place and people that made him who he is. This
song is an anthem for small town Country.

A salt-of-the-earth southerner with a
straight-shooting swagger and kind smile, Shane Profitt is an authentic,
all-natural talent who is poised to become one of Nashville’s most exciting new
acts.
The
25-year-old from Columbia, TN began his musical journey only a few years ago
with a simple ambition - to learn to play Hank Jr. songs on the guitar.
Beginning with three chords (G, C and D) and by putting in the time, he quickly
mastered the instrument. Gifted with a heavy-duty vocal, Profitt became a
regular draw at the popular southern cooking chain, Puckett’s, traveling all
over Tennessee to weekend shows while still holding down his job back home

return to the global stage with The Chicks 2023 World Tour.
Produced
by Live Nation, with stops throughout the UK and Europe before returning to
North America.
The
Chicks are proud to announce, GRAMMY award-winning country music sensation, Maren
Morris is set as support on The Chicks 2023 World Tour for headline dates
in Europe & The UK.
“This
last year on the road has been a whirlwind for us, but it’s time to bring the
party to the UK and Europe,” The Chicks said of the dates. “We can’t wait to
see everyone and play for all our fans across the pond – it’s been a long time
coming, and we can’t wait to get back!”
The
run of shows will be The Chicks’ first dates in the UK for seven years and
support will come from Maren Morris. General tickets went on sale for all
Europe & UK dates on Friday, 17 February at 10am local.

Since the release of their debut album,
WIDE OPEN SPACES in 1998, The Chicks’ music has stirred emotions in fans

of all time, The Chicks have sold more than 30.5 million albums and are
among an elite group of acts to achieve multiple “diamond” selling (ten million

In 2019,
The Chicks returned to the airwaves as a feature on Taylor Swift’s “Soon You’ll
Get Better,” one of the leading tracks off Swift’s seventh studio album, LOVER.
After 14
years, The Chicks’ fifth studio album GASLIGHTER, dropped July 17, 2020. It was met with
widespread critical acclaim., the album received a weighted average score of 82/100
based on 21 reviews. On the all-genre US Billboard 200, Gaslighter debuted at No.3
with 84,000 album-equivalent units (Including 71,000 album sales), becoming the
band's fifth top 5 album and first in the streaming era.
The times finally
caught up with country trio meeting their moment in the current activist
climate. The incendiary opening title track was a trademark Chicks kiss-off
that could as easily be addressing a jealous ex as the current US president.
“March March” was inspired by a political rally that all three Chicks attended
with their families, but its timely video draws a natural parallel between the
song’s broad self-empowerment message and this year’s Black Lives Matter
protests. The rest of the album maintains the personal-is-political bent, with
universal messages of hope and self-help addressed autobiographically to the
band member’s children (“Young Man”, “Julianna Calm Down”), their ex-husbands
(“Tights on My Boat”, “Hope It’s Something Good”) and even themselves (“For
Her”).
“We were always thinking and writing about that stuff,” Emily Strayer told
Apple Music, “but the news kind of caught up to what we were already talking
about—whether it was the #MeToo movement or what's happening right now with
Black Lives Matter. So it was coincidental in a way, but I think those things
are cyclical. They might be the newest news stories, but they’ve always been
here.”
In
June 2020 the then know Grammy-winning country group The Dixie Chicks
dropped the word Dixie from their name, to go with The Chicks.
The
band’s social media accounts and website were changed to refer
to the new name for the band. The band also recognized that the name was
already in use by a band in New Zealand.
“A
sincere and heartfelt thank you goes out to ‘The Chicks’ of NZ for their
gracious gesture in allowing us to share their name. We are honored to co-exist
together in the world with these exceptionally talented sisters,” the band said
in a statement. The
Chicks World Tour 2023 is the upcoming seventh headlining concert tour from
American country music trio The Chicks. It is scheduled to begin on June 20,
2023, Oslo, Norway and finish on September 18, 2023, in Toronto, Canada. The
tour follows their first ever Las Vegas residency, The Chicks: Six Nights in

ABOUT KEZIA GILL:
British singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Kezia Gill has a completely
unique sound, pulling influences from Folk & Irish, Country, Rock and
Blues.
She began
writing music at the age of ten and has been singing professionally for over

OLIVIA LANE ANNOUNCES UK HEADLINE TOUR IN FEBRUARY 2020

the release of her latest EP ‘The One’ this
summer and a much-anticipated national US TV debut on NBC’s Songland,
Nashville-based singer/songwriter Olivia Lane has
announced her return to the UK in February for a run of five headline tour
dates, with additional shows to be announced in the next few weeks.
With her
previous singles ‘Hey 3AM’, ‘You Got Me’ and ‘So Good It Hurts’ gaining radio
play on both sides of the pond including from BBC Radio 2 (Bob Harris) and BBC
