The writers started with the title “Kiss Me Like You Miss Me” and the remainder of the song developed from there. “‘Kiss Me Like You Miss Me’ is a fun, flirty song about falling head-first in love. It’s a song for long-distance lovers, sassy girlfriends, friends you miss, or just driving down the highway. It was a blast getting to create it with Danick and Patricia, and I am so excited to finally get to share it with the world,” Rutland commented. Fans can expect to see a music video for the track in early 2020.

“Kiss Me Like You Miss Me” is a characteristic sneak peek of the thoughtful new tunes included on Rutland’s upcoming EP. Listeners should expect to hear a collection of tracks that are complete with captivating lyrics and represent a variety of life’s stages and milestones. Rutland commented, “This song, as well as all of my upcoming music, continues to feel more thought-through from a songwriting perspective. I’m really excited about the melodies, the instrumentation in the production, and just how we tried to craft creative lyrics during the writing process. I feel more involved with all of the pieces of this project and am excited to continue releasing music that feels like me.”
