Hometown Show to release single ‘Texas is the Reason’ on 22nd July 2018

Hometown Show
‘Texas is the Reason’
Release Date: 22nd July 2018

“…the British equivalent of Old Crow Medicine Show” - Your Life In a Song

Deep South (Coast) Country/Bluegrass four-piece Hometown Show return with their brand new single Texas is the Reason on July 22nd 2018.

It’s described as a mid-tempo Cash/Carter style number with a contemporary twist, the song takes you on the journey of a man, hitchhiking his way from Tennessee to Texas to find his true love.

Texas is the Reason is a modern take on the ‘storytelling’ Country style of old, with toe-tapping acoustic guitar, Tennessee Three style electric rhythm and blistering harmonica solos that create a sound influenced most notably by the likes of The Avett Brothers, Charlie Daniels and Hank Williams.

This sweet, amusing and entertaining acoustic driven ditty points its compass on a route from sandy coastlines to beaming city lights heading out to be with a kissed-her-lips-a-1000-times-girl-of-my-dreams beauty - I’m on my way!

I’ll swim the oceans and walk the Appalachian Trail
I’d wade the Bayous
Brave the rowdy barroom brawls
To have in you in my arms once more

Self-penned by Matthew Harrison and recorded at The Foundry Studios in Portsmouth, this light-hearted number has a locked in time feel to it and is a real joy

Texas is the Reason will be available for digital-download and limited physical purchase from 22nd July 2018 from their website at www.hometownshow.co.uk

HOMETOWN PLAY: The single received an exclusive world first spin on Russell Hill's Country Music Show on 93.7 Express FM (Sundays between 12pm and 3pm).
Listen back from 20 mins - “Goodness me they’ve done a grand job with their new single, that’s a Brucie bargain because that is a beautiful single” - Russell Hill

Genre: Bluegrass, Country, Folk

Tenille Arts - Cold Feet (Single Review) & Artist Spotlight

Review Rating: 88/100

Release Date: 21 July 2017
Label: 19th & Grand Records
Time: 3:26
Written by: Adam Wheeler & John Ritter
Produced by: Matt Rovey & Adam Wheeler
Chart Success: "Cold Feet" has made it to #9 on Canada Country iTunes Singles Chart and in the top 100 (#99) all genres

A story song about choosing between your head and your heart. What would you do?

A gentle light acoustic, delicate piano and soft percussion underscores this deliciously dreamy number from the get-go.

Tenille compares her new single Cold Feet as “like a Nicholas Sparks book in a song”. Several of his romantic novels (Amazon) have become number one New York Times bestsellers. If there was any justice then the CANCON songstress’ new single should also become a hit!

This beautiful, graceful, and stylish ballad gentle stirs the emotional pot on this cinematic track where a church wedding day dawns. Bridesmaid dresses are hanging, flowers have been ordered and a starry-eyed honeymoon awaits with Mister Perfect, or does it?
Out of a blue the bride to be receives a letter from a former love-torn lover persuading her to meet at a favourite beauty spot.

But you should be happily wrapped up with me
It's took me to write down what I finally see
So why don't you meet me one night
In our old spot down by the creek
If you've got cold.. feet

The music, interspersed with laced faint steel, creates a slow motion of pure dreamy smoothness perfectly complimenting Tenille's gorgeous spell-weaving vocal tone. The song leaves the necessary pauses and wide-open spaces between both the notes and the words as the bride to be ponders what direction is best to take.

Instead of being swathed in the comfort of her home dreaming of her special day it finds her out on a rainy late-night sidewalk with doubt cast in a troubled mind.

Here she is walking back home after midnight
Trying to breath
With cold..feet

What should she do? We think she should go with what her heart is saying rather than her mind when that hard-to-pin-down life decision is involved. Let Tennille know on her Facebook video what you think.

Whatever the outcome we love the beautiful texture of this track. Pure Bliss!

Biography
Tenille Arts is a 22-year-old singer-songwriter from Weyburn, Saskatchewan.

At the age of 8, a neighbour overheard her singing in the backyard and encouraged her to pursue music. This encounter helped lead Tenille to vocal lessons, piano lessons, and dance training. She wrote her first song at 13, and has performed shows all over Canada since then.

Tenille made her first trip to Nashville when she was 15 to pursue a music opportunity she had been offered. While gaining some valuable experience she returned to Canada to continue writing, performing, and finish high school.
On one of her return trips to Nashville in 2014, she was introduced to industry veterans Adam Wheeler and Matt Rovey
Wheeler's publisher, Hal Oven, was also very impressed with Tenille. In 2015, he signed her to a publishing deal at Noble Vision Music Group, allowing her to make the move to Nashville and pursue her career full time.

In 2015, Tenille supported one of her favourite causes with a benefit single. It was a special song because it was written by Matt Scales, a victim of Cystic Fibrosis. Tenille became interested in being an ambassador for CF when she was a dance teacher and one of her 6-year old students had the disease. Tenille recorded the song "Breathe" (UK iTunes) as a fundraiser for CF Canada, who received 100% of the proceeds. The song released April 14, 2015 peaked at #6 on the iTunes Canada Country chart.

The 2016 SCMA Emerging Artist Award winner has performed on some of Canada's biggest stages including the Craven Country Jamboree, the Boots and Hearts Festival, and at the Bluebird Café and the Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival in Nashville, Tennessee.
She has over 680,000 views on her YouTube channel and over 5,100 subscribers.
Her first single “Breathe” for Cystic Fibrosis Canada, went to #6 on the Country iTunes chart.
Tenille signed a publishing deal and moved to Nashville in 2015.
Tenille made her mark in the country music industry by representing Saskatchewan in the 2015 CCMA Spotlight Performance Contest, performing in the Boots and Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase.
Currently living in Nashville, TN, Tenille has big plans ahead!

In late March 2016, she was chosen as a top 6 finalist in the CCMA Discovery Program * and performed at the CCMA Discovery Program Showcase in September last year in London, Ontario. In 2013, the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) introduced the CCMA Discovery Program (PDF), a national initiative, developed to educate and support artists in their pursuit of a career in the country music industry.

Her 6 track self-titled debut EP (19th & Grand Records; Amazon UK | UK iTunes | Amazon.com | Artwork) was released on Oct 14, 2016.
It entered the iTunes Canada Top Country Albums chart at #1, Top 10 overall and was featured on the front page of the coveted “New & Noteworthy” section on iTunes Canada. (The six-song collection also cracked the top 100 on the US Country Albums chart). All of this even before the release of an official first single!
She received a SCMA Award for Album of the Year! - Facebook Photo
Her EP is described as “a perfect mixture of sweetness and angst. Her songs are written with the youthful honesty of a confident, mature 22-year old”. The songs are co-written with Nashville writers Adam Wheeler, Mark Narmore, Jason Massey, and Janelle Arthur.

In Jan 2017 single What He’s Into (Amazon UK | UK iTunes) was sent to Canadian country radio and made available for digital download.

The lead track, "Wildfire and Whiskey" is a driving up-tempo about young love with a beautiful, catchy melody. A lyric video was published on July 6, 2017:

Streaming giant Pandora lists her as one of their "2017 Country Artists to Watch," and popular country website whiskeyriff.com labelled Tenille a "new country artist name you need to know immediately."
Videos on her channel have led to her being featured on the Bob Kingsley Country Top 40 countdown, and on the Woody and Jim morning show on 107.5 The River in Nashville.
The official music video for single Cold Feet was published on July 21, 2017.

Jess and the Bandits (1/5 Texan and 4/5 British) tease their upcoming Country2Country performance with new single “Kiss You Now” (Release Date: 8 April 2016)

A Deluxe edition of their debut album HERE WE GO AGAIN is coming soon.
Official Release date April 1, 2016!

Label: After Midnight Girl Entertainment LLC  17 tracks | Total Time: 55:36
Available for PRE-ORDER: Amazon UK | UK iTunes | Amazon.com

Of the release the band say;
We are so excited for the release of the deluxe edition of our current album, ‘Here We Go Again'. We decided rather than releasing an EP of new songs, to add 4 new tracks * onto our current album to create a deluxe edition. People are still discovering Jess And The Bandits and not only will they get a taste of where we started but they will get an idea of where we are going. Current fans will be treated to some great songs that we know they’ll love and we can’t wait to hear everyone singing along on our ‘We Are Tonight’ Tour in April and May!

Tracklisting
1. Ready Set  2. Love Like That 3. You Can't Stop Me 4. Wanted Man 5. Nitty Gritty
6. If You Can't Be Mine 7. What If 8. My Name Is Trouble 9. Drunk On Me10. Getting Into Something
11. Here We Go Again 12. Single Tonight 13. Wichita Lineman
14. Kiss You Now * 15. We Are Tonight * 16. I Don't Dance * 17. Here's To Us *

Kiss You Now - It’s a bit of a different feel from the rest of the album but we hope that our current fans will love it as much as we do. It’s a song about a girl taking the “bull by the horns’, as they say in Texas, and making the first move with the guy she wants. Full of fun and sass, it’s the type of song we love to perform! You even get a chance to hear Louis showing off his fantastic voice on this one!

Scroll down for the lyrics and kindly take a listen to the song

We Are Tonight - Many country fans will recognize this song from either one of the writers, Sam Hunt or from Billy Currington. This has always been a favorite song of Jess' but many of my team had never heard it before. We all agreed that releasing it in the UK would be a great idea so we decided to cover it and give it a slightly different feel, especially since now it’s being fronted by a woman! A vibrant party song, this has Jess and the Bandits written all over it! It is the song that makes you want to dance and chant along.
I Don’t Dance - This song came to us by complete accident. While in Nashville we decided to record a cover of Lee Brice’s ‘I Don’t Dance’. Not expecting to actually fall in love with it! We turned it into a duet and our keys player, Steve, lends his flawless vocals which perfectly compliment Jess’ venerable vocal performance. A part of her voice that many fans have never heard before. We think this song will be an absolute treat for the listeners!

Here’s To Us - From the ladies that brought you ‘Nitty Gritty’, this one is a co-write between Jess, Emily Shackelton, Victoria Banks and Lindsey Lee. When writing this song every other story on the news that morning was about turmoil around the world. We wanted to write a song that addressed the stress of everything happening around us, the pressures of our own lives but finding a way through it. Finding a way to smile and have fun through the pain. To gain strength in everything you do no matter what life throws at you!

The 13 track 42-minute standard album dropped April 6, 2015 (After Midnight Girl Entertainment LLC)
Their single “You Can't Stop Me” was added to the BBC Radio 2 “C” Playlist for the week commencing Sat 11 April 2015.

After a hugely successful 2015 on both sides of the Atlantic, Jess And The Bandits are ready to get the party started in 2016.

Having completed a number of tours and festivals, wowing the crowds from LA to London, and with their debut album Here We Go Again having reached No. 6 on the Official UK Country Charts (chart dated April 18, 2015), Jess and the Bandits returned to the recording studio in January to work on new material for their upcoming sophomore album.

However, with their second headline tour kicking off in April 2016, the band are set to treat their fans to new material without the wait. With a deluxe edition of HERE WE GO AGAIN to be released on March 11, to coincide with their Country2Country performance, the band will be heading up the release with the irrepressible Kiss You Now.

Kiss You Now was debuted by the band at their first show on 2016 at The Soup Kitchen in Manchester.
The addictive, upbeat number proved an instant hit, with the crowd going crazy and the chorus provoking an instant sing along.

Of the release Jess Clemmons, the band’s vocalist and the face of high street fashion brand Evans, said:
We are thrilled to include 'Kiss You Now' on the deluxe edition of our album ‘Here We Go Again’. There are times when some of the writers we work with submit songs to us that they think will be great for Jess and the Bandits. This happened to be one of those times. Jeff Cohen, who co-wrote and produced many songs on our album, sent us ‘Kiss You Now” written by himself and Liz Longley. We immediately fell in love with it and knew we had to record it. It’s a bit of a different feel from the rest of the album but we hope that our current fans will love it as much as we do and it will be a great introduction to us for new fans as well. It’s a song about a girl taking the “bull by the horns’, as we say in Texas, and making the first move with the guy she wants. Full of fun and sass, it’s the type of song we love to perform! You even get a chance to hear Louis [Riccardi] showing off his fantastic voice on this one!

About the Kiss You Now Songwriters:
BMI songwriter Jeff Cohen has worked with everybody from Big & Rich (“Holy Water”), Sugarland (“Take Me as I Am” with Jennifer Nettles) and The Band Perry (“Postcard from Paris”) to Ilse DeLange (“Beautiful Distraction”) Macy Gray and Mandy Moore (“Top Of The World”). He has seven co-writes on Kristian Bush’s Southern Gravity album and co-wrote 4 cuts (“God Did Good”, “When These Wheels Hit Tennessee”, “Hold on Lover” and “Sugar”) on Dianna Corcoran’s new album In America.

Liz Longley won three songwriting competitions: the BMI John Lennon Songwriting Scholarship Competition, the International Acoustic Music Awards, and the Chris Austin Songwriting Contest. She also recorded her sophomore effort, Hot Loose Wire, that featured two of her award-winning songs, as well as a cover of Van Morrison's "Moondance," which was picked up by Sirius XM programming executives for regular rotation. Longley's reputation spread fast and she moved between Boston and New York. She began opening shows for a wide range of artists including Shawn Colvin, Paula Cole, Nanci Griffith, and Amos Lee, and began accepting writing assignments for television and cinema. On March 17, 2015 she released a self-titled album (Welk; Amazon - Spotify)

The band shared the song on their Facebook Page

Our Verdict:
The single, is fun and instantly super catchy with its infectious ear-candy hooks. This bouncy light-hearted number sounds like a perfect contender for another Radio 2 playlisting.
Jess’ faultless vocal draws you in on this funky work out and with the addition of Louis Riccardi’s fab vocal it brings to mind Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley. To my ears it’s sheer musical joy enhanced by the slick production – LOVE IT! (9/10)

The brand new single from Jess and the Bandits, out April 8, 2016.

Kiss You Now Lyrics (writers Jeff Cohen and Liz Longley)

Oh you’re reaching for a reason
To hold back what your feeling
I know you want to make a move but you think too much (giggles)
So there's no misunderstanding
Where your lips should be landing
Watch me make it easy for the both of us

Chorus
I’m gonna kiss you now
Like you’ve never been kissed
Wrap your arms around my hips
I wanna make your heart race while the world slows down
And you’re gonna kiss me back
Let down your guard
As the lights applaud on the boulevard
Go on, steal my heart while world spins round
I’m gonna kiss you now
Now Now
I’m Gonna kiss you, now

Oh it's always been unspoken
All these paralyzed emotions
I think you thought we oughta not complicate it
But I welcome complications
So I'll stop the conversation
Yeah I bet you never thought you'd hear me say this

Chorus
I'm gonna kiss you now,
Now, now...
I'm gonna kiss you, now, now, now..

Bridge
Oh ain't it time we crossed the line
We can't regret, we can't rewind

Male vocal (Louis Riccardi)
I'm gonna kiss you, now
Like you've never been kissed
Wrap your arms around my hips
So make your heart race, while the world slows down
Together:
I'm gonna kiss you now, like you've never been kissed
Wrap your arms around my hips
I'm gonna make your heart race, while the world slows down
Your gonna kiss me now
Let down your guard
As the lights applaud on the boulevard
Go on, steal my heart while world spins round

I'm gonna kiss you now
Now, no
I'm gonna kiss you, I'm gonna kiss, I'm gonna kiss you now
Oh, Oh, Oh...Oh, Oh, Oh

Lisa Wright - Before I Die (EP) Review

Lisa Wright - Before I Die (EP) Review

Country Routes News takes a look at Lisa Wright’s new EP and shines the spotlight on this lovely upcoming UK artist

Release Date: 17 Sept. 2015
Self-Release
4 Tracks/ Time: 14:24
Label: Lisa Wright
Rating: 3.5 STARS

1. Before I Die 2. Here We Go Again 3. Girl Like Me 4. You Grow but You Don't Change

Track by Track

Before I Die: A soft ballad which is a wish to make most of every moment before it’s too late. Looking up at grey skies is a spur and prompt for Lisa to spread her wings with 24,000 miles to explore. The anxious and dreamy songwriter is keen to take in the wonders of the breath-taking Northern Lights, explore the rocks in California, visit Bali to chill and meditate and soak up sad country songs to help heal broken hearts and more forward. This was the last song she wrote before heading to Music City to turn the words into magical musical art.

Here We Go Again: A weeping steel, acoustic guitar and banjo underpin this outstanding beautiful and delicate heartbreaker which tells of the pain of letting go of a relationship, moving onto new love with hard lessons learned. She questions how things work out from a potentially good situation as love crumbles and the empty void she finds herself in emphasised by witnessing a former lover with a new partner. With words: It ain’t easy, seeing you tonight dancing slow and holding her tight/  Where were the words, right from the start/ To fight the old love right from my heart/ I'm letting go to another one/ Oh, I'm letting go and say goodbye to another potential love.

Published on May 14, 2015 YourAudiouk took a walk around the lovely Battersea Park one sunny spring evening with the talented singer

Girl Like Me: Is a well-crafted acoustic number with shuffling percussion. It sees the comforting narrator wearing a heart on her sleeve, trusting the good in others whilst catching the ones that fall apart, as smiles turn to hurtful eyes. This girl has to dig deep and struggle to find true love, letting go before being at ease with herself. There's no mountain she wouldn't climb to find that beautiful silver lining.

You Grow But You Don't Change: Anchoring the 4 song set, this observational song with soft piano, bright banjo and guitar pickin' harks back to school days, getting hitched to approaching retirement. Dreams are crushed, hearts are hardened and tough lessons learned but things remain the same on the journey of life as clocks tick, the sun shines and hearts beat on.

Sum Up:

Although the 4 tracks are similar slow to mid paced affairs, the quality certainly wets the appetite on what may be on her country horizon.

Whether she the ability to do fast up-tempo and belting numbers remains to be seen. With an engaging vocal the focus is on the songs sensitivity, the song craft is commendable and she has an ear for melody.

Lisa is a very welcome addition to the talented Brit Country scene.

If gentle tuneful acoustic flavoured styled country is your bag then this EP is well worth checking out.

Take the Lisa Wright Test drive!:

About Lisa Wright:
Genre: Country/Pop
Home Town: Essex
Short Description: Country singer-songwriter.
Long Description: Tempting the UK to country/pop music
Influences: Rascal Flatts, Taylor Swift, Alison Krauss.

Lisa Wright, 23, is your not-so-typical Essex girl (from Harold Wood, a suburb in NE London)
A country enthusiast at heart, she began singing and song writing at an early age and dons Alison Krauss as her idol.

In 2012 she was given the thumbs up at the auditions of the Open Mic UK competition and performed at Towngate Theatre in Basildon in the live regional stages of the UK competition. She performed in front of hundreds of audience members and a professional judging panel for a place in the national final at the O2 arena in London.

The former Redden Court School pupil, was then in her second year studying drama at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA), and hoped the competition would be a launch pad for a career in singing – her preferred style is Country!

A musical vocation wasn't always a goal for Lisa – she never thought she could sing when she was younger. She shared "I had a singing teacher who was really good for me, she said I could do it. At university I've joined a band and perform in clubs and pubs in Liverpool. It's a great town to be a musician in."

Lisa has since graduated from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, studying an Acting degree although it was there that music really started to develop.
If she's not performing then you can probably find Lisa watching and swooning over Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing.
After supporting Nashville artist, SaraBeth, on her UK tour, Lisa released her first single, Faith, which she was awarded 'Song of the Year 2014' by W21 Music and then follow up single "Home"

She spent 6 weeks in Nashville and although she wished for longer, Lisa met some fantastic and funny people; saw incredibly inspiring musicians at work and recorded her EP that she is very proud of. MUST SEE >> Facebook Video
