Sinead Burgess had the time of her life on a U.K. tour alongside Country/Blues luminary Kezia Gill, and on the day she performed at the O2 Institute3 in Birmingham, her newest single was released. 'Ain't Thinking About You’ is out in the world and receiving great reviews from fans far and wide. This song, in Sinead's own words, is more than just a journey of moving on…“it’s the epiphany of joy that comes from realizing you’ve moved on & then some"

Sinead has not only produced this track; she has poured her heart and soul into it, weaving a sonic tapestry reminiscent of Sheryl Crow's rustic rock tones intertwined with the rhythmic heartbeat of The Rolling Stones. The lyrics, though elegantly straightforward, encapsulate the essence of carefree liberation —a vivid tableau of that pivotal moment after parting ways with the past, embracing a world of new possibilities.

When recounting the creative process, Burgess says: "The inspiration for this track struck me like a lightning bolt one night. It was just a musical feeling more than anything, so I quickly built a demo of the ideas while they were in my head and knew I had to send it straight to Brian.”
Reuniting with Brian Koppelman, Burgess’ now main collaborator and same talented co-writer who helped bring her last release 'Rolling Stones' to life, 'Ain't Thinking About You' captures the exhilarating sensation of riding the waves of life, leaving behind the echoes of the past with an unbridled joy of a great weight being lifted.

Sinead fondly recalls the lyrical back and forth, where the words were finessed and crafted through a self-proclaimed ‘unconventional’ way…“The lyrics came together so fast.

We were text messaging back and forth, tweaking as I was cutting vocals, which was a really different way of writing for us & it meant we could figure out as we went along whether the vibe of each line felt right or not in real time. I never thought I’d write something so real and vibey over text! But it added to the conversational nature of the song. Brian and I have worked together so much by this point we were immediately on the same wavelength.”

This earthy, acoustic rock anthem, laced with a vintage soul of Sheryl Crow, Grace Potter, Alanis Morissette, and even a taste of KT Tunstall, is simultaneously carving out its own unique niche within the realms of Americana and Country music, a space that is rapidly becoming a sonic foothold all of her own.

Sinead Burgess joined her first show of the U.K tour with Kezia Gill in Leeds on October 13, performed 8 shows culminating in her very first headline show in London on the 23rd October at The Slaughtered Lamb, where Americana darlings, The Civil Wars, also held their debut London performance.

Ain’t Thinking About You dropped on October 20th, 2023 and debuted at #35 on UK iTunes Country Singles Chart.

Sinead Burgess releases brand new single 'Reno' ahead of C2C Festival

One week out from her highly anticipated performances at the first Australian C2C FESTIVAL in Sydney and Brisbane,
Nashville based singer/songwriter SINEAD BURGESS returned to Australia and the airwaves with her brand new single ‘RENO’

Teaming up once again with co-writers and California rockers ‘The Federal Empire’ (consisting of Grammy nominated writer McKay Stevens & Chad Wolf, former front man of band ‘Carolina Liar’) Burgess’ new tune reflects tones of an Americana-laced Sheryl Crow, whilst staying true to her signature brutally honest, story-telling nature.

‘I got the idea pulled up in front of a run down motel in Reno, Nevada. The rooms had these incredibly kitschy peach doors that look like they hadn’t been cleaned since the 70s, and I started to daydream about how it would feel planning a big life from such a small room. So much of my own story and yearning for growth and adventure found its way into the lyrics and all of a sudden., we ended up with a grungy, Petty-inspired song.’

Burgess recorded ‘Reno’ in Nashville at Trace Horse Studios, enlisting the expertise of  talented producer/ writer Logan Wall, known specifically for his heartfelt, organic production.

Release Date: 20 Sept 2019

Label: Brokenbird Records

Time: 3:18

#30SecondReview by James Daykin C2C Attendees tastemaker/ Lyric Magazine writer and reviewer:
Sinead Burgess ‘Reno’: Bluesy, melodic retro-tinged sing-along from SB. Nice story, different angle 👏🏻👏🏻 Loving the rhymes too ‘cards’, ‘boulevard’ and ‘we know’ with ‘casino’ #clever And then even some ‘Na Na’s’ to finish. Awesome 😍

Published Sept 19, 2019 Sinead Burgess - 'Reno' Official Lyric Video:

The project was a facet of Burgess’ ‘Nashville Songwriter Residency Grant for 2019’ awarded to her by the Australian Arts Council, a grant received by only one Australian per year. This funding allowed her the resources to spend 3 months solidly in Nashville writing and working on new music, an opportunity that has well and truly pushed her career up another gear. The residency concluded last week for Burgess, with 4 Americanafest showcases, performing alongside other showcasing Aussies Ella Hooper, Brad Butcher, The Maes and more as apart of Sounds Australia. The shows had Sinead performing ‘Reno’ for the first time live, an opportunity that was met with much attention by both industry and fans alike.
‘Reno’ is a full band offering, a notably bigger sound compared to Burgess’ 2018 record ‘Damaged Goods’ which is more of a stripped down, acoustic record. Burgess perfectly treads the line between earthy, heartfelt musicianship and catchy, melodic pop with ‘Reno’, ensuring fans of her previous release will not be disappointed.

Catch Sinead Burgess performed alongside Tim McGraw, Kelsea Ballerini, Midland & more September 28th at Qudos Bank Arena and September 29th at Brisbane Entertainment Centre for C2C Festival Australia.

Sinead Burgess releases official music video for ‘Wildflowers Of Colorado’, on Valentines Day

SINEAD BURGESS RELEASES OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO
FOR HEARTBREAKING TRACK

‘WILDFLOWERS OF COLORADO’, ON VALENTINES DAY.

U.S based Australian singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Sinead Burgess has dropped her latest music video offering, ’Wildflowers Of Colorado’, a heartbreaking track from her debut acoustic album, DAMAGED GOODS.

Produced by a compact US creative team, Chelsea Edmundson (Director), Seth Fuller (Cinematographer) and Burgess, the crew took to a picturesque property just outside Joshua Tree, California to film, making it the second instalment of a 3 video series shot in just 24 hours.

In her own words: ‘I’ve always wanted to make a music video for a song that was an album favorite, not necessarily a single.
Wildflowers of Colorado holds such a deep place in my heart, and always seems to be the one that speaks to people live which I’m incredibly grateful for.  It’s a simple story shot in a simple way and I am so proud of what we were able to capture out in the desert in such a short period of time. My video team (Seth and Chelsea) are such bad ass creatives, so it was an absolute joy to make. Also, Joshua Tree scenery is to die for.

Penned solo by Burgess, she recounts the bittersweet feeling of writing the track and the emotion behind it.

For me, this song was begging to be told in its entirety. It’s not your standard 3-minute love song, it’s definitely a journey. It speaks to the idea that sometimes love can live on despite the time that passes.’

The video for Wildflowers of Colorado is in support of Burgess’ raw & stripped back debut album Damaged Goods, after it made an impact in the top 10 on both the Australian (#6) U.K (#3) Country Albums iTunes Charts upon release. The album is also Burgess’ first self-produced, independent project.

Sinead’s career has seen her support major artists such as James Bay, The Script, Don McLean, Joe Bonamassa, and more recently, mega British country music act, The Shires.

(May 2018) Sinead Burgess - Damaged Goods

ABOUT Sinead Burgess

In an age of over-produced music with no heart, Sinead Burgess is no trend-follower. Paving the way with the few other voices in Nashville and the greater music industry toting raw and honest music, this small town, Australian raised girl is making big waves despite only moving to town one year ago.
That said, she is certainly no stranger to the music industry. ‘DAMAGED GOODS’ is Singer/Songwriter & Multi-instrumentalist Burgess’ first independent release after being with a major label since the age of 16. A collection of real stories of her life, filled with stripped back, tainted yet calmly optimistic tones of a woman who has, frankly, been through some sh*t. Whether it’s the ballsy ‘Momma Raised a Ramblin’ Man’, the classic country /blues inspired track about her being sick of being over looked in guitar stores as ‘just another girl  putting up with the boys guitar shopping’, or the challenging feeling of real love never dying, no matter how long it has been unrequited, as heard in ‘Wildflowers of Colorado’.
Recorded in 3 days at Parlour Studios in Nashville, TN, Sinead crafted a stunning acoustic record as a one woman band; writing every song and playing the bulk of the instruments. The songs can be described as snapshots of her heart, carving her out in her own, multi- dimensional genre lane, tapping into Country/ Americana/ and singer- songwriter roots.
Her brutally honest, whole hearted performances are gaining her much attention both in the US and the UK, proving she is well and truly one to watch...
