Callaghan made it back to the UK on June 3 after a 2-month,
14,000 mile tour of the USA. The 25 shows took her from Florida to Maine across
to Minnesota and back to Georgia to finish the tour with a full house at
Eddie's Attic in Atlanta - the first room she ever played in the US back in
2009!
Callaghan (Georgina) spoke with presenter Carla Greene on BBC
Radio Lincolnshire about her musical journey (first broadcast on Thursday
June 20 at 2pm BBC
Page) Listen Back:
Callaghan's effortlessly sweet sounding, lilting,
silvery vocals take you to a sun drenched private beach where worries are a
thing of the past. Callaghan's story is well known. In 2010, whilst living in
London she sent a demo tape to one of her biggest influences, Shawn Mullins. He
liked what he heard and invited Callaghan over to Atlanta to produce her first
album. It was the classic story of taking risks, of willingly throwing your
life into upheaval in order to chase your dreams and she has never looked back.
Since then she has released three further albums and plays to packed venues
across America.
Callaghan is going back in the studio to record "Callaghan's
Acoustic Coffee House Volume 2"
Blessed with a beautifully sweet and soothing voice, a strong
knack for pretty and harmonic melodies, and a firm grasp of smart and
thoughtful song writing, Callaghan has a warmth and purity of spirit that
shines through in her performances. She will be accompanied by Ant Clark on
keyboards. Support at Callaghan’s Kirton In Lindsey, at a beautiful town
hall, will come young Lancashire singer songwriter Joe Martin who has
been gaining major attention in the UK and America. Joe, blessed with a rich
resonant voice writes quality songs that bely his tender years. He has a big
future ahead of him.

new world artistically.” Continues
Sarah, “Because of my connection to the U.K., I thought ‘what better place

Revs Up New Concert Tour, Album (by Gary Trust March 31, 2015)…Two years after Billboard shined the
spotlight on Callaghan, thanks to her innovative, DIY mentality that served to
inform fellow indie artists, the affable and insightful artist discusses her
new album, her latest ambitious road trip itinerary and why house concerts

grow a following.......
She played C2C Country To
Country 2015 Music Mile Pop Up Stage playing to a packed crowd! She was
invited back in 2016 to play Bob Harris’ curated Under The Apple Tree Stage in
Building Six.
Her album A HISTORY OF NOW
(April 12, 2015 | iTunes) included the Lincolnshire
lass’ debut UK single “Best Year” a confident song about
her arrival there. Brimming with optimism, it was a jaunty feel-good country
track from an artist who had sold more than 10,000 albums independently in the
States. She did it by relentless touring and racked up more than 50,000 miles
on the road every year.
It was named Record of the Day in the UK with Feb 15, 2015 impact
date.
BBC Radio 2’s Bob Harris
(OBE) became a big fan and she was featured in his BBC4 TV documentary looking
at the vibrant scene in the US, featuring many of the great new British acts
managing to gain a foothold in this powerful and very lucrative music genre. She
returned home to the UK for a full Spring tour and thoughtout 2015 played over
20 dates and was joined by Adam Wakeman on keys.
Following her hugely successful 2015 summer tour, a run of house
shows, headline slots and festival appearances including Secret Garden Party and Cambridge
Folk Festival she returned to the UK to promote her single, ‘When
You Loved Me’ and for another string of UK shows.
‘When You Loved Me’ taken from ‘History of Now’ followed the BBC

She recorded one POP 5-track EP called THE OTHER SIDE (released 30 Jun 2017; Green Town Music) in LA.
Throughout the year she wrote in LA, Nashville and London.
In Feb 2018 she shared her new 5 song POP record SKIN ON SKIN (2 March 2018). It included a couple of firsts for her. The

FSA Festival chief Wayne Hadlow looks to have been dazzled by The Voice UK contestants with two acts
from this year Peter
Donegan and Remember Monday on the line up joined by Emma Jade who was chosen to join Sir Tom Jones' 2013
team (BBC Page).
PETER DONEGAN
Almost inevitably, Peter Donegan has been performing since
the age of five, given that the ‘Godfather of British Rock n Roll’, ‘King Of
Skiffle’, the late Lonnie Donegan, is his father. Lonnie inspired
every British Invasion band from The Beatles to Led Zeppelin. Even The White
Stripes’ Jack White cites Lonnie as one of his major influences. All this runs
through Peter’s veins and is clearly evident in his live performances, as well
as in the studio. Amongst Peters own admirers are Nora Guthrie (daughter of
seminal folk musician, Woody Guthrie) Crystal Gayle and Billy Bragg.
On June 21, 2017
he self-released 5-track EP SUPERMAN (Amazon UK - UK iTunes - CD Baby- Spotify; Current ranking Amazon
Bestsellers Rank: #23,377 in Albums) which reviewed 3
STARS out of 5 in July 2017 Issue of Country Music People (Spencer

The Voice UK, in
its 8th
series, returned to ITV screens for the 2019 series
with a hostof artists hoping the judges will turn their
chairs.Peter Donegan turned Tom Jones chair on The Voice UK 2019 Blind
Auditions.
Sir Tom Jones (#TeamTom), in a magical twist, was impressed
enough by his tone and higher range to hit the big red button and turn as Lonnie's
widow Sharon shed a tear waiting in the wings whilst punching the air with
delight. This TV exposure sparked a massive renewed interest by country DJs
around the country.
On Wednesday
27th February Peter joined SJ Birds live from his home in London via Skype for
a one hour special on Redroad FM. Peter talked about growing up, his fathers
career and more importantly his own career.
Remember Monday are
a country pop trio from the South East of England.
The all-female trio vocal Lauren
Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull and Charlotte Steele, formerly known as 'Houston',
get their inspiration from the likes of Alison Krauss, The Dixie Chicks and
Taylor Swift
They focus heavily on intricate
group harmonies whilst always showcasing their strong individual vocals! They
first met at college 7-years ago when they were 17.
The three young ladies who describe themselves
as a pop/country girlband have made the line-up of FSA Festival and
been on their local BBC radio station.
They were
thrilled to release their single, ‘Drive’ (Amazon UK - UK iTunes) , on Oct 19,
2018 produced by their manager Tim Prottey-Jones now
a former member of The Wandering Hearts. The single briefly peaked
at #1 UK Country iTunes Singles Chart (#176 UK iTunes
all-genres) and by Oct 21st quickly dropped to #21 (#1183 UK Singles
all-genres). They couldn’t wait to celebrate the release at a London venue as
renowned as The Troubadour. Maverick Magazinewrote: Up
and coming all-female trio Remember Monday marked the launch of their new
single Drive with a huge bang on 21 October, with a spellbinding performance
well beyond their years. The gig at the Troubadour in London, England, was
hosted by new specialist country music and Americana app CountryLine, and the
tiny venue was rammed full of people eager to see the trio in action”.
Ther
performed for the first time at the C2C
Country To Country Festival on March 9 & 10 playing the Icon Stage (13:40-14:05)
and Big Entrance Stage (Sun 10:30-11:00).
With their Monsoon skirts and matching fedoras, the Surrey
Pop/Country three-piece were one of the bands testing out the new rules on
The Voice UK by auditioning
as a trio. Launching into a country-tinged, Dixie
Chicks-esque rendition of Seal’s "Kiss from a Rose", rich
with honeyed harmonies. All four coaches (Olly Murs, will.i.am, Jennifer Hudson
and Sir Tom Jones) promoted turned for them and Jennifer Hudson even threw her
shoe on-stage! They were successful in The
Battle Roundsand progressed to the Knock Out Rounds which aired on TV Sat 23
March when they performed their own original song ‘Jailbreaker’. One of 16
acts they now need the public Lifeline Vote (which closed Sat 11:30pm) for them to advance into the semi
finals.

Callaghan) Genre: Singer-songwriter/ Pop
Born:
28 November 1986 | Origin: Boston, England
“Callaghan
is a wonderful artist. She is beautiful, warm and hugely talented. The reaction
to her music on my radio programmes has been fantastic.”- BBC Radio 2 DJ Bob Harris (OBE)
FLASHBACK Callaghan Live Royal National Theatre 5 September 2008
When Callaghan
moved from London to Atlanta during
the summer of 2010, she was still a relatively unknown name in the States. A
singer/songwriter whose music blurred the edges between pop, adult contemporary
and Americana, she had been drawn to Atlanta by one of her biggest influences -
Shawn Mullins - after he had agreed
(via Myspace) to produce her first album. It was a classic story of taking
risks, of willingly throwing your life into upheaval in order to chase your
dreams.
Just
a few years later, Callaghan’s writing a second chapter of that success story.
On her second album, A HISTORY OF NOW, she draws upon four years of touring,
recording and growing appreciation in the U.S. She's transformed herself from a
burgeoning indie songwriter — playing to 20 people at her first US show — to a
full-fledged headliner who's toured across 46
states, played the Cayamo Cruise,
performed at packed venues around the country and logged more than 50,000
highway miles per year. Along the way, she's developed a close connection with
her fans, even booking a series of cross-country tours consisting of nothing
but shows in people’s homes.
Callaghan - Music Fan Montage
It
was her very first House Show tour —
which stretched from coast-to-coast in 2013, a year after the release of her
widely-acclaimed 12 track debut album, LIFE
IN FULL COLOUR (May 1, 2012 Amazon UK | UK iTunes), that earned
Callaghan a four-page spread in Billboard
Magazine.
Playing
her fans' living rooms has allowed Callaghan to put herself in direct contact
with her audience, erasing the boundaries that often exist between musicians and
their fans — and allowing her to compete on the same level as bands backed by
major labels.
In
2014, while raising money to record the 12 track A HISTORY OF NOW produced by Dennis Matkosky (released April 12,
2015; Amazon UK | UK iTunes) she turned to her own
fans for help. They responded with overwhelming support, sending in more than
300 donations via a wildly successful PledgeMusic
crowd fund campaign (170% raised of goal; Pledge Music - Callaghan)

within The O2 in Building Six (Sat 12 March 2016; 14:00-14:40).
(8
Aug 2015) Callaghan Interview by: David Spencer......But the Nashville residency is a little misleading. Although Callaghan
has been backed by the likes of Bob Harris and appeared at the Country 2
Country festival, her music is not really country. There is a Celtic
tinge to her folky pop, which has a smiley sheen, where no problem in the world
seems too big to deal with. This uplifting music matches her personality. With
a broad smile and genuine delight, she shares her experiences from the US and
looks back at how it all started.....Read More Music-news.com
In
Oct 2015, following her hugely successful summer tour, a run of house shows,
headline slots and festival appearances including Secret Garden Party and Cambridge
Folk Festival – Callaghan confirmed she would return to the UK to promote
her stunning touching single, ‘When You Loved Me’ and for another
string of UK shows.
Changing
pace from previous upbeat singles, ‘When You Loved Me’ was the first ballad to
be taken from the album. Inspired by an 85-year old friend’s story, Callaghan
tackled the universal theme of first love, and the ‘what if’ questions that
remain long after a relationship ends. Callaghan: “One night over dinner she told me about the first man she ever fell in
love with. Although the romance didn’t last, she often thought about him during
the decades that passed. She’s held onto to that feeling, wondering how things
might have been if life had taken a slightly different direction or they had
stayed together. I think everyone can relate to that feeling of falling in love
for the first time and no matter where life takes you or how old you are, it’s
something you never forget.”

On
Feb 28, 2016 Callaghan joined Clare
Balding on BBC Radio 2 to
perform live on Good Morning Sunday (BBC Page).
She
talked about her American adventure and played her former Radio 2 single "Best Year" (experiencing life as
much as possible) joined by guitarist Pete Rinaldi which drew: "Wow, Oh
such a privilege to hear that live, it's so positive, I just love that you're
very upbeat with your music" from Clare. Callaghan spoke about playing the
House Concert scene in America and her first similar UK event in what she
dubbed as a "Stately Home" gig! Before playing the song "When You Loved Me" Callaghan
(Georgina) told the story inspired by an 85-year old lady Carol who had grown
up in New York, her life in the 40s and the feeling of first falling in love
with a boy at 17, to then go in different directions but never forgetting that
special feeling". Afterwards Clare said - "Oh that is so lovely, honestly I just closed my eyes and listened to
that. To have that, you have so much talent and a beautiful skill. To be able
to sing like that so purely at this time of the morning you have the utmost
respect, thank you so much, we have loved having you"

Later
in the day the "Crazy Beautiful Life" singer-songwriter joined guests
Kerry Howard (BAFTA nominated writer), Anna-Jane Casey (actress), Hemsley + Hemsley (cooking authors, The
Good + Simple Book Tour!), Sally Bee
(Resident healthy cook on ITV Lorraine) on Gaby
Roslin's Sunday lunchtime BBC Radio London show (BBC Page). She performed "Best Year" - Oh, That's wonderful, that makes me feel so
good, I can see daffodils everywhere when you sang that..it's really beautiful"
said Gaby. Georgina also performed Gaby's favourite "When You Loved Me" reducing
2 of the guests to tears and prompting Gaby to say "Your brilliant, so incredible, honestly you're just so talented, your
voice is so special, it's so pure. I think you're fantastic"
Later
in the show she played the upbeat happy number "Crazy Beautiful Life"
to loud cheers in the studio. "Everyone was just beaming" said Gaby.
"Your voice is like sunbeams" shared an excited Kerry Howard.

On
March 9, 2017 Callaghan played the notable St
Pancras Old Church the first of two London
headline shows - Having spent a
number of years playing gigs in people's homes across the United States, the
cozy surroundings of St Pancras Old Church shouldn't be too intimidating for
Georgina Callaghan as she plays the first of two nights at this lovely venue. In fact the singer seems slightly in awe; "to think this church is
hundreds of years older than America" she explains to an attentive
audience that probably know this already. Callaghan has the look and sound of
Sarah McLachlan and her whimsical, country tinged music is ideal for these
ethereal surroundings…. Read More at Music News.com
