Following huge success as the front
man of Lawson, singer-songwriter Andy Brown has now
signed a major recording deal with the legendary Decca Records for
his first solo material. His debut single ‘Landslide’ is out now (iTunes| https://lnk.to/ABrLan1PR
) and sees him team up with Crissie
Rhodes from The Shires.
Having sold over 1 million records with Lawson, Andy is
now working on his long-awaited debut solo album. Having spent the past 6
months writing and recording in Nashville, the album draws from the strong
blues and country influences, as well as the traditional pop/rock sound that
made Lawson so successful. His new sound takes inspiration from artists like
Thomas Rhett and Chris Stapleton, as well as John Mayer and James Bay.

A duet with country music superstar
and label mate, Crissie Rhodes, ‘Landslide’
showcases Andy’s knack for writing evocative and heartfelt lyrics, and draws
the listener in with a huge sing along chorus. The Nashville inspired strings
are harmonious with Andy’s smooth vocals, providing the ideal platform to
explore deep, meaningful concepts of timeless love and companionship. These
themes will not only resonate highly with his existing fan base, but will also
establish him with a new audience who appreciate the fusion between Americana
Soul and contemporary British Folk.
Andy says, “Signing with
Decca Records for my first solo album really is a dream come true. I feel so
lucky for all the success we had as Lawson, but with this new album I can truly
be myself and I have the chance to make the music I am passionate about. I hope
my fans will continue to follow me on this journey, and that they love the new
music as much as I do!”
Born and raised in the
music-centric city of Liverpool, Andy grew up listening to a variety of music styles
and conventions throughout his life. He soon became enamoured by Nashville’s
innate sense of songcraft. With this album, Andy has discovered a new platform
for personal expression, exposing a different, more sensitive side of his
song-writing.

UK Country superstar duo, The Shires, today release their heartfelt new single,
‘Daddy’s Little Girl’. The track’s lyrics, written by Shires vocalist Crissie
Rhodes, celebrate cherished memories of her late father. From the “smell
of Old Spice” or his “flat cap on the dash” the
song’s lyrics share Crissie’s fondest memories of her father, who for her, was
the “man who hung the moon.”
“This is a very personal song. My dad passed away from Cancer when I was 8
years old, but I still think of myself as Daddy’s Little Girl. The music video
features real footage and photos of us together, and also the glasses and flat
cap he wore every day. It was wonderful to go through all this in the process,
as it brought back so many great memories. I have also received many messages
from fathers, saying how much this song means to them, as it reminds them of
their daughters.” – Crissie
The track, written in Nashville, is one of the most popular songs on The
Shires’ hit album ‘My Universe’ - landing over 290k streams on Spotify to date.
The song also proved to be a live favourite on their UK Headline Tour last year
– performed acoustically with just Ben and Crissie on stage, the crowds always
fell completely silent, often with tears in their eyes.
In the video the gorgeous Crissie is seen wearing

Free People is Crissie’s new favourite brand. “I

The Shires celebrated a landmark year in 2016 with the
release of their new album MY UNIVERSE
which stormed the UK Album Chart, landing at No.3 (14,913units
(including unknown streaming points), and becoming the
fastest-selling UK Country album of all time.
After 19 weeks on the UK Official Top 100 Album chart the already SILVER certified MY
UNIVERSE fell 24-26 with estimated sales of 3,300 and a total sales estimate of
92,500 copies (some 7000 copies short of GOLD status)
The duo received endorsements from celebrity
fans including Robbie Williams, as
well as resounding support from the media, including BBC Radio 2, being made
Album of the Week at the station and landing three consecutive A-list singles;
‘Beats To Your Rhythm‘, ‘My Universe‘ and 'A Thousand Hallelujahs’.A packed summer festival schedule also included their first
Headline performance at Glastonbury, on the Acoustic Stage.
Last year The Shires also joined the ranks of prominent US Big Machine Label Group Country artists
Tim McGraw, Florida Georgia Line and Thomas Rhett by signing an exclusive
recording deal with the leading US Country music record label. The Shires are
undoubtedly seen as the trailblazers of the UK Country music movement in the
USA as well as the UK, which saw a sea change in recent years, with the British
public fully embracing the genre.
This month has already seen the band appear on BBC One’s ‘One Show’ and with imminent
plans to focus on expanding their presence in the USA, as well as another big
UK Headline Tour, 2017 is already shaping up to be another landmark year for UK
Country and The Shires.
