With ‘Corn Queen,' Hailey Whitters delivers a love letter to the Midwest, to the women who raised her, to herself and to the ever-evolving sound of country music. It’s an album full of character, conviction and charm – an absolute gem – much like Hailey Whitters herself. – 4.1/2 STARS EF COUNTRY

Bluegrass star Molly Tuttle joins Whitters on guitar and vocals on “Prodigal Daughter”, and country folk artist Charles Wesley Godwin duets on “I Don’t Know You”. These two songs provide a welcome musical contrast to the other cuts on the album. These cuts are more explicitly serious and show Whitters’ ability to play and sing it straight. While 16 tracks may seem too much to put on one record, are there ever too many kernels to fit on an ear of corn? All hail the queen! – 8/10 RATING Pop Matters

“Whitters delivers the humility of small-town life through 16 tracks of clever, insightful lyrics and twangy, foot-tapping melodies” – POSITIVE Review HOLLER

Watch the video for “White Limousine”:
About the new song, Whitters explains: “I've waited a long time to put out this record. I wrote and recorded this song for a duets record called Countrypolitan that unfortunately never will see the light of day, but this was always my favorite song on that record so it gives me triumph to be able to reclaim it on Corn Queen. This song defines the 'Queen' side of the album. The video captures that romanticized escapism that anyone who's ever lived in a small town has probably experienced at some point or another. I know I definitely did! Props to my creative director Beth Brinker for bringing Palm Springs to the cornfield.”

Following her album release party earlier this week at Skinny Dennis presented by Holler, Whitters will celebrated the album release with an in-store performance and signing at Grimey's (Friday, June 6, 2025 4:00 PM -  5:00 PM) . Fans could purchase the vinyl LP and CD at Grimeys.com or inside the record store for a signing wristband. Later that evening, Whitters performed at Spotify House Live At Ole Red at 7:30 p.m. as part of CMA Fest.

Ahead of the release, Whitters released a handful of critically-acclaimed songs “I Don't Want You” (feat. Charles Wesley Godwin), “High On The Hog,” and “High On A Heartbreak” that were praised by BrooklynVeganCountry Central, Music RowStereogumWide Open Country and many more.

Prodigal Daughter” featuring Molly Tuttle was named one of the Best Songs of 2025 (So Far) by Vulture and praised as “Hailey at her best” by All Country News. At the top of the year, she shared shared “Casseroles,” which was lauded as a “Song You Need to Know” (Rolling Stone), a “nuanced reflection on grief and recovery” (Billboard), “an undeniable triumph” (Holler), a “testament that she can hang with some of the genre's best” (Country Central), “proof she's only getting better” (Wide Open Country) and “a beautiful and striking tune” (Whiskey Riff).

“Fans started calling me the 'Corn Queen' because I'm from Iowa,” Whitters says about the album's title. “At first, it seemed kind of silly, but the more I thought about it, the more I loved the duality of it. Corn is this simple, humble crop, and 'queen' implies royalty passed down through blood. I come from a long line of blue-collar farmers and construction workers. I've been out here for over a decade brushing my teeth in truck stop bathrooms, sleeping on hotel floors, driving myself from gig to gig. It's not glamorous, but I'm proud of it. I like the idea of a queen with a little grit and elbow grease.”

Hailey Whitters & Charles Wesley Godwin Duet On New Song “I Don't Want You”

HAILEY WHITTERS AND CHARLES WESLEY GODWIN DUET ON NEW SONG “I DON'T WANT YOU”

NEW ALBUM CORN QUEEN OUT JUNE 6

NASHVILLE, TENN. (May 2, 2025) – Iowa-born, Nashville-based singer-songwriter Hailey Whitters released “I Don't Want You (feat. Charles Wesley Godwin)," the latest song to be released from her forthcoming album CORN QUEEN. A tender duet about the push and pull of a relationship, the song finds the singer-songwriters acknowledging that sometimes what we want might not be what we need, complimented by the contrast of Whitters' saccharine vocals and Godwin's down-to-earth delivery. Due out June 6 via Pigasus Records / Big Loud Records / Songs & Daughters, the 16-song collection also features contributions from Molly Tuttle and The Wilder Blue.

This week, Whitters announced an in-store performance at Grimey's at 4:00 p.m. on album release day. Fans can pre-order the vinyl LP and CD at Grimeys.com or inside the record store for a signing wristband.

LISTEN to “I Don't Want You (feat. Charles Wesley Godwin) (preferred music platform) or below:

About the new song, Whitters explains, “I wrote 'I Don't Want You' with Jon Nite and Gordie Sampson. It was our first-time ever writing together and one of the few times I've ever sat down to write without a hook or concept in mind first. We just started spitting it out line by line and following the feeling. What resonates with me most about this song is that it's an honest and raw account of a far from perfect relationship. I think we all to some extent or another bring our 'shit' into our relationships, and I like that this couple wants to work through it rather than just hang it up. I met Charles Wesley Godwin when we were both on tour last year with Luke Combs and have been completely awestruck by his artistry ever since. He's a true artist and I was dying to collaborate on something with him. I'm so thankful he said yes to this one because he took it to a place it would have otherwise never reached.”

Charles Wesley Godwin adds: “Hailey and I's paths have crossed a few times, both as labelmates and as part of Luke Combs' tour last year, so I was thrilled when she asked me to join her on 'I Don't Want You.' Country music has a long history of duets, and it was fun to join in on that tradition and help this song come to life.”

“I Don't Want You (feat. Charles Wesley Godwin)” follows last month's release of “High On The Hog” and “High On A Heartbreak.” Earlier this year, Whitters released “Prodigal Daughter” featuring Molly Tuttle, which was named one of the Best Songs of 2025 (So Far) by Vulture and praised as “Hailey at her best” by All Country News. She also shared “Casseroles,” which was lauded as a “Song You Need to Know” (Rolling Stone), a “nuanced reflection on grief and recovery” (Billboard), “an undeniable triumph” (Holler), a “testament that she can hang with some of the genre's best” (Country Central), “proof she's only getting better” (Wide Open Country) and “a beautiful and striking tune” (Whiskey Riff).

Recorded once again in Nashville with longtime collaborator (and now-husband) Jake Gear, the collection is a rousing reflection on Whitters' midwestern roots and the joys and struggles of small-town living. The writing is whip smart, full of clever wordplay and evocative storytelling, and the performances are utterly intoxicating, walking the line between classic and contemporary country with a healthy dose of bluegrass energy. Whitters has long been recognized as a master craftswoman, but Corn Queen solidifies her status as a genuine star, one with the wisdom—and the guts—to trust her instincts as she blazes her own singular trail through the industry.

“Fans started calling me the 'Corn Queen' because I'm from Iowa,” Whitters explains.

This year, Whitters will perform at the inaugural Sand in My Boots festival on May 16 in Gulf Shores, Alabama and at Under the Big Sky Music Festival from July 18 to 20 in Whitefish, Montana. To keep up with tour dates, visit HaileyWhitters.com.

Hailey Whitters Is Crowned The Corn Queen, new singles High On A Heartbreak & High On The Hog drop

HAILEY WHITTERS IS CROWNED THE CORN QUEEN

NEW ALBUM OUT JUNE 6 VIA BIG LOUD RECORDS
“HIGH ON A HEARTBREAK” OUT NOW + OFFICIAL VIDEO

NASHVILLE, TENN. – The Iowa-born, Nashville-based singer/songwriter Hailey Whitters returns with Corn Queen, her new album out June 6 via Pigasus Records / Big Loud Records / Songs & Daughters, featuring collaborations with Charles Wesley GodwinMolly Tuttle and The Wilder Blue. To accompany the announcement, she released the neon-tinged High On A Heartbreak,” which finds Whitters dreamily intoxicated on the melancholia of a breakup, and its visually striking official video filmed at East Nashville's famed pink palace – the House of Adora.

The song follows Monday's (March 31, 2025) release of the fabulous “High On The Hog, a rollicking mission statement for the 16-song album that serves as a reminder that all that glitters ain't gold.

Listen to “High On A Heartbreak” (preferred music platform) or below:

About “High On A Heartbreak,” Whitters shares: “I wrote this song with David Garcia, Hillary Lindsey and Jessie Jo Dillon. I wanted to write the antithesis of a heartbreak song, one about a heartbreak feeling good vs. feeling bad – almost like a guilty pleasure. This song feels like something you'd put on to get ready for a fun night on the town after a breakup. It feels like owning the heartbreak rather than feeling sorry for yourself.”

NASHVILLE, TENN. – Today, the Iowa-born, Nashville-based singer/songwriter Hailey Whitters released a new song “Prodigal Daughter” featuring Molly Tuttle on guitar and harmony vocals. The song was co-written by Hailey Whitters, Paul Sikes and Bryan Simpson, who she collaborated with on her Platinum hit “Everything She Ain't,” and features performances by reigning CMA Musician of the Year Charlie Worsham and ace bluegrass players Bryan SuttonStuart Duncan and Justin Moses.

“'Prodigal Daughter' represents a return to my roots, my faith and what's important to me,” explains Whitters about the new song. “Over the last few years, I've been listening to a lot of bluegrass music, and I've been so excited by the new faces propelling the genre - especially artists like Molly Tuttle and Billy Strings. Their music definitely inspired this one, and I was lucky enough to get Molly to be a part of it and to record with some of my favorite bluegrass musicians like Bryan Sutton, Stuart Duncan, Justin Moses and Charlie Worsham to help me define a new sound for this record.”

“Prodigal Daughter” follows the release of “Casseroles,” which was lauded as a “Song You Need to Know” (Rolling Stone), a “nuanced reflection on grief and recovery” (Billboard), “an undeniable triumph” (Holler), a “testament that she can hang with some of the genre's best” (Country Central), “proof she's only getting better” (Wide Open Country) and “a beautiful and striking tune” (Whiskey Riff).

“Casseroles” marked Whitters' first release since her critically-acclaimed 2023 EP I'M IN LOVE, which received raves from American SongwriterBillboard and Stereogum, who called the title track “an expertly constructed bit of music” and proclaimed, “Whitters can tell a story, but on this one, she tells a feeling. When the song hits right, you can almost feel all that joyous anticipation yourself.” That same year, Whitters was nominated for New Artist of the Year at the CMA Awards and took home the ACM Award for New Female Artist of the Year, performing her platinum certified hit “Everything She Ain't” during the show. The song marked her debut on the Billboard Hot 100 and her first top 20 hit at country radio.

In recent months, Whitters has released collaborations with Max McNownEvan Honer and Brooks & Dunn. In November, she experienced a full-circle moment supporting Alan Jackson on his final tour date of 2024 in Salt Lake City after penning his 2017 single “The Older I Get.” Whitters closed out her year with two sold-out shows at her hometown honky-tonk DanceMor Ballroom in Swisher, Iowa.
