But the night wasn’t over because Urban then jumped on the underground for the 40 minute Tube ride to The O2, where he took to the stage to perform two songs with Brad Paisley. Whew!

Chris Country got the inside track with Keith Urban (Chris Country Breakfast at 7:40am!) What’s all this about Keith riding the underground to get from performing with Hootie over to Brad:

The Michael Ball Show
Keith was a late surprise guest on BBC Radio 2’s The Michael Ball Show on Sunday (Oct 13)
He spoke about moving to Nashville in the 90s, balancing family life, songwriting, his album GRAFFITI U, the enjoyment of country music in the UK, growing up and he played a solo acoustic of "Blue Ain't Your Color" live in the studio.

Strictly Come Dancing
Series 17: Week 4 Results BBC iPlayer

Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman presented the results show (first broadcast Sunday Oct 13), with Keith Urban and a jaw-dropping group routine from the Strictly professionals Kevin Clifton (Strictly Champion and 5x finalist) & Katya Jones (World, British Latin champion; Strictly Come Dancing 2017 WINNER)

Setting up the performance Claudia said
“It is now time for some music, performing his WORLDWIDE HIT ‘Never Comin Down’ * it’s Keith Urban!”

* To date Keith has charted one single on the UK Charts in 2006 You'll Think Of Me (CAPITOL) which peaked for 1 peak at #88.

In America Never Comin Down peaked at #18 on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart (chart dated 2.9.2019) and #30 on Hot Country Songs.

His performance drew a standing ovation from both the audience and judges Craig Revel Horwood, Bruno Tonioli, Motsi Mabuse and Shirley Ballas (turning up the heat once more for the head judge who described actor Kelvin Fletcher as "a very masculine man, with scintillating and sensual hip action, with a beautiful leg action and sensitivity of touch. "You just sent my temperature through the roof! I've never seen a man rumba like that," she gushed).

Following the Strictly broadcast "Never Comin Down" shot to No.2 on the UK Country iTunes Singles Chart (#22 UK iTunes all-genres) selling 194 copies (Keith Urban - Never Comin Down 0.1047 = The song is selling 10.4% of what the #1 song is selling over 24 hours).

It was selling 65% of the No1 song on UK Country iTunes (Dan + Shay & Justin Bieber)

It also sparked interest in his albums with GRAFFITI U lifting to No.1, GREATEST HITS landing at No.2, DAYS TO BY blowing in at No.6 and RIPCORD arriving at No.19 on UK Country iTunes Album Chart (#32, #37, #315, #613 respectively on UK iTunes all-genres).
GRAFFITI U was also placed at No.1 on Amazon Best Sellers

  • Keith Urban was amazing! Best guest so far this series!
  • Keith Urban fantastic, shame the dancers have to come on when the guest singers are on. So distracting & audience clapping & whooping. For a few minutes why does it have to be about them!!!!
  • 👎 Nice miming there Keith.
  • Why would he travel half way around the world to mime ffs?

  • Omg he's just so awesome!! Just as good as C2C, my favourite song too!!
  • Took the crowd a while to get on their feet and clap, I would have been on the dance floor lol
  • He was a busy man last night. Three gigs xxx
  •  He was amazing 🤠🤠🤠🤠😍😍
  • First time for me to watch Strictly 😂 #UrbanArmy 🤟🏻
  • I thought the mixing of the sound for the show was awful.

Keith Urban had the Strictly Ballroom on its feet, and we're Never Coming Down!

  • 👍 Bloody loved Keith Urban....talented amazing musician and writes all his own stuff. Booked tickets to see him next May in Birmingham - cannot wait! I've waited so long to see him in the UK. Bring it on and well done Keith xx
  • Yaaaaaay! Even my Dad is a fan at 77 after watching him on Strictly! I think all his UK dates will be sold out after his Strictly debut. I'm surprised how many people have never heard of him on here! I'm so jealous of Nicole Kidman lol 😂 x
  • So sick of the dancers taking centre stage , yes I know it’s a dancing show but their guests are there to show case their music , glad also that the audience kept a bit quiet too
  • Absolutely amazing love Kevin. Never heard of Keith urban but most say he was very good
  • He's bloody gorgeous.
  • That was superb. Keith Urban and Kevin and Katya were outstanding
  • Keith Urban is fantastic, I'm a huge fan of his! So great for the UK to showcase a tiny snippet of current country music 👌 Nice one Strictly!! 🤠🤠🤠
  • It's not necessary to have dancing when someone is performing, it's very rude when the dancers are applauded and someone is trying to sing.
  • I've never heard of him, but he was better than Harry Connick Jnr last week who I had heard of, so fair play to him.
  • Never took much notice of Keith urbane b4 but sure will now 🤩
  • Thank you BBC for having Keith on the show... he may not be a household name in the UK but he is a superstar in the country world and country rocks 😍🤠😍
  • 👎
  • Never heard that song before in my life, would have thought they could have hired someone more memorable.
  • Never heard of Keith Urban , couldn't understand a lot of his lyrics ,but it wasn't because of the raucous audience for a change ,thank you for toning down the screaming from the said audience .
  • Who? Never heard of him and he was rubbish. Needs a good haircut! Bring back Buble.

2019 REWIND: Keith Urban, O2 Forum Kentish Town, London live review
Urban opened the night with his current single Never Comin’ Down from latest album Graffiti U before going into classic hit Days Go By. It was a good indication of what was in store for the night. Some fans have been very vocal in their dismay regarding Urban moving away from his roots on his last two studio albums. Last night, deliberately or not, he offered up a career-spanning collection over the course of his near 135-minute show that should please all of his fans….In fact the set list sequencing was pretty genius. The Graffiti U songs, which are probably his most contentious, were spread throughout the night and they offered a welcome change of pace at regular intervals. The bass-driven Drop Top featuring Kassi Ashton was a highlight while Love the Way It Hurts (So Good) is an example of Urban pushing the boundaries of Country music as far as possible. The majority of the audience though were there for the classics and those came thick and fast during the night….. Elsewhere in the set support act Kerri Watt joined Urban for a rendition of The Fighter, which saw Urban move into the audience during the song’s second half where he stayed for a medley of hits and to give a fan his guitar (yes really). The triple punch of Gone Tomorrow (Here Today), John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16, and Wasted Time from Ripcord caused the audience to erupt into a party and paved the way for the encore – Rating 5/5 Entertainment Focus.com

Kerri Watts’ Celtic roots are embedded in the streets of Glasgow where poets grow and strong hearts rule.
Her current embracing of Americana is not fashion or vogue; this sound was fused when the then 16-year old Kerri ventured solo to California. She blazed a trail through prestigious venues from West Coast to East Coast across the US honing her craft in
places such as Whisky a Go Go in L.A., The Basement in Nashville and NYC’s Rockwood Music Hall. Kerri fell in love with America and its music.

Kerri’s love of travel, nature and adventure didn’t stop in the USA. An adventitious meeting with a music executive in Ibiza saw her returning to the UK to record. Her incredible pure, emotive but powerful voice and pop sensibility soon found her playlisted twice on BBC Radio 2, singles Long Way Home (released July 2015) and The Wild (released March 2016). It wasn’t long before live sessions and numerous TV appearances were booked in with ITV, STV and the BBC, and people began to pay real attention to Kerri.

Her music hinted at the wide open spaces of her American experiences, yet were carefully crafted pop tunes. Kerri’s collaboration with producer Oliver Nelson on the summer mix of You racked up over a million plays and achieved a number one on Hype Machine with rave reviews.

On the back of her commercial and critical success, Kerri hit the festival circuit running, playing GlastonburyIsle of WightSecret Garden PartyCornbury to name but a few. Kerri honed her stage performances further with support tours for Starsailor, Nina Nesbitt, Ward Thomas and the Overtones. This Summer, Kerri performed with Embrace with whom she has co-written and supported COLDPLAY at the Millennium Stadium to over 140,000 people over just two days.

Back full circle in Nashville Kerri wrote and recording new material with multi-award winning and chart topping songwriter, producer and publisher Jeff Cohen (co-writer of The Shires, Ward Thomas) along with 3 time Grammy nominee Kevin Kadish – the writer and producer behind Meghan Trainor’s ‘All About That Bass’, before embarking on her first headline UK tour in the fall of 2017.
BBC Radio 2 A-listed singer songwriter Kerri Watt announced her first ever headline tour, with 14-dates across the UK in November 2017.

Kerri’s single ‘Old School Love’, released in July 2017, was first for her new label East West Records (Warners). The single marked a slight change from her previous two singles, the BBC Radio 2 play listed ‘Long Way Home’ and ‘The Wild’.

On Aug 24, 2018 Kerri released a collab ‘Never’ with Embrace which saw her perform live on various radio and tv spots and support COLDPLAY at the Millennium Stadium to over 140,000 people over just two days.

She performed 4 times at the C2C Country To Country Festival in March 2018 playing the Big Entrance Stage (Sat & Sun March 10 & 11), CLUB WM-Water Margin & Busking Stage.
After signing a recording and publishing deal with Cooking Vinyl, on Jan 23, 2019, Kerri is excited to be back playing at C2C, performing with her full live band.

She will play the Big Entrance (Sat 9 March 2019; 15:10-15:40) & Town Square (Sun 10 March 2019; 10:30-11:00).

In recent exciting news she will be Keith Urban’s special guest when he plays his headline show at London’s O2 Forum at Kentish Town on Wednesday 6 March!

Kerri also regularly presents an Americana radio show (Weds 13:00-15:00) on Pulse 98.4FM (Community Radio across Barrhead and around the World via the TuneIn Radio App) | Website; Pulse Radio House, 25 Springfield Road, Barrhead G78 2SG)
