Cyndi Thomson captures the magic of the holiday season with “Christmas in New York

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (October 31, 2025) - Country singer-songwriter Cyndi Thomson captures the magic and melancholy of the holiday season with her brand-new single “Christmas in New York,” out now on all streaming platforms. Co-written by Thomson with Heather Morgan, the wistful track paints a cinematic picture of love lost against the backdrop of the city that never sleeps. Snow falls, champagne flows, and Fifth Avenue sparkles - but for Thomson, joy is bittersweet without the one she loves beside her.

“‘Christmas in New York’ was written from that bittersweet place of missing someone during the holidays,” said Thomson of the tune. “It’s about love, loss, and the magic of a city that holds both. I hope it comforts anyone who’s ever spent Christmas with a memory instead of a person.”

Blending her signature emotional delivery with warm, classic production, “Christmas in New York” follows the release of Thomson’s version of 2005 Gary Allan hit “Life Ain’t Always Beautiful” - a song she co-wrote with Tommy Lee James, out September 19. With its release (which was followed by the release of an accompanying video), Thomson stepped back into her own words, offering her perspective as both the original writer and a woman who has lived through the trials and triumphs the song reflects.

Known for her soaring vocals and timeless storytelling, Thomson’s career began with a record-breaking debut in 2001, when her first single became the highest-charting debut by a female country artist at the time. In May, she released her most recent EP, Acres of Diamonds - a celebration of the life she built while away from the music scene.

About Cyndi Thomson:
Hailing from Georgia, Cyndi Thomson emerged onto the country music scene in the early 2000's, quickly securing a publishing deal with Sony ATV and a record contract with Capitol Records. She soared to stardom with her debut album, MY WORLD, and the hit single, "What I Really Meant to Say." However, beneath the veneer of success, Cyndi struggled with intense anxiety, ultimately choosing to step away.

Over the next several years she discovered a love for jewelry design and launched her very own collection, HAYBELLE CO. Now, on the brink of a musical comeback, Cyndi has recently released multiple new heartfelt tracks signifying a remarkable return to her roots and an exploration of new musical horizons. Her songs are deeper, her voice is stronger and her storytelling is more compelling than ever.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 24, 2025) — With the release of the Black Celica music video (shot and co-directed by Zack Knudsen and Kate Clark) out today, platinum-selling country artist Cyndi Thomson delivers a poignant, slow-burning visual that mirrors the heartache and hope woven throughout her tender collaboration with GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter Ashley Monroe.

Watch the official video for “Black Celica” below:
Shot entirely outdoors against the golden glow of dusk, the video captures two parallel storylines: Thomson and Monroe performing side by side in a windswept field, and a young couple—portrayed by Thomson’s real-life daughter Bella Goodman—living out a memory of young love and inevitable goodbye. The result is as intimate as the song itself, a rich blend of nostalgia, vulnerability, and reverence for what once was.

“Watching my daughter bring this story to life onscreen added a whole new layer of meaning,” shares Thomson. “This song is about love that stays with you — even when it’s long gone — and Bella and our team captured that beautifully.”

Penned by Cyndi Thomson, Ashley Monroe, and Mikey Reaves, and produced by Paul Sikes, “Black Celica” is a standout track on Thomson’s latest EP, ACRES OF DIAMONDS, which released in May.

With a hushed, cinematic melody and lyrical snapshots of rainy roads, late-night drives, and champagne under the stars, the song explores the kind of romance that shapes you — and never fully leaves.

The video offers no dramatic twists — just soft light, honest emotion, and a love that lingers long after the engine stops

Cyndi Thomson celebrates a return to the country scene with EP Acres Of Diamonds

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 23, 2025) - More than two decades after her rapid rise to stardom with breakout radio hit “What I Really Meant To Say” (July 2001; 3,7 million streams) and subsequent debut album MY WORLDCyndi Thomson drops EP Acres of Diamonds – available on all digital streaming platforms.

The six-track project includes previously released tunes like the title track, and most recent release “Five More Minutes,” (released April 11, 2025) which wrestles with the nostalgia-soaked somberness of wishing you could “go back for five more minutes” to relive the moments that matter most. The project also includes focus track “Black Celica,” co-written by and featuring GRAMMY® Award-nominated artist Ashley Monroe. With vivid imagery of open roads, starlit nights, and fleeting moments, the longing-laced song captures the magic of a love that felt infinite, even as time pulled it away.

"Acres of Diamonds is the harvest of a quiet season—a reminder that even in stillness, something precious is growing,” Thomson said of the release. “After time away, returning to music feels like unearthing light beneath familiar soil. Each track is a jewel, shaped by the hands of incredible writers and producers. I’m deeply proud of this journey, and endlessly grateful for the brilliance that brought it to life.”

“‘Black Celica’ is a love letter to the past—a reflection on young love, and the way certain memories stay in motion long after we’ve stopped chasing them. It’s about the ache of letting go while still holding on to what once was. The lyric ‘My world was you, driving round in that car. I hope you’re happy wherever you are’ captures that feeling of nostalgia and quiet longing. Writing this song was like opening a time capsule—and finding it still had a heartbeat.”

In 2001, Thomson quickly rose to fame with RIAA certified Gold album MY WORLD and chart-toppers like “What I Really Meant To Say,” “I’m Gone,” “I Always Liked That Best,” (1.4 million streams) and “If You Were Mine,” Yet, despite her rapid success, she opted to walk away from it all shortly after.
“At a time when my career was flourishing, I found myself overwhelmed by the pressures of success—anxiety, sleepless nights, and the constant demands of the spotlight,” Thomson said. “Despite achieving everything I had dreamed of, I knew I had to step away for the sake of my well-being. It was the hardest decision I’ve ever made, but it also gave me the space to heal and rediscover myself. Now, with a renewed sense of clarity and purpose, I’m excited to return and share the music that’s been quietly waiting for its moment.”

Despite stepping away from the spotlight, she remained an influential figure in music, instrumental in shaping the sound of early 2000’s female country, and penning hits like Gary Allan’s “Life Ain’t Always Beautiful.” Now, with the release of Acres of Diamonds, Thomson marks her return to the world she never stopped loving.

“I realized one day - I can’t expect my kids to chase their dreams if they don’t see me chasing mine,” says Thomson. “Leaving music wasn’t about the death of a dream. It was about self-preservation, and making sure what was most important in life came first. However, that fire, that passion inside of me for music never left. I’m just better equipped to satisfy it now than I was in 2001.”
