Megan O'Neill releases video for latest single 'Ghost of You'

Premiered on Chris Country

London-based singer/songwriter Megan O’Neill has released the music video for her upbeat country-leaning single 'Ghost of You', which came out last month.

Published on Feb 3, 2018 (1,266 views at Feb 12), Original Song [(c) Megan O'Neill 2018]
Song written by Megan O'Neill & Zak Lloyd | Production by Zak Lloyd

'Ghost of You' was filmed and directed by Declan Creffield, featuring actors Morwenna Hocken & Tom Claxton.

Describing the inspiration, O'Neill said:
"The song itself is about living with the ghost of your past, the ghost of someone you love and the lyrics don't specify if it's about a loved one that's no longer with us or one that is, but just is no longer in your life. I wanted this video to end with the viewer still not sure whether or not there is a happy ending - in the same way that the lyrics are unexplanatory. You'll see what I mean! It has certainly been a new experience having a full story board music video and me not being in it!  But it's been such a fun process and everyone involved did an incredible job''

Megan and her band return to the stage on February 10th for a headline show at Under The Bridge, London, as part of the Nashville Nights event.

Fans can also stream/download the new single on
Spotify and all other platforms now, or listen to the track via Soundcloud here.

Megan O'Neill releases video for latest single 'Why I Need You'

MEGAN O'NEILL RELEASES VIDEO FOR LATEST SINGLE 'WHY I NEED YOU'

LONDON, UK (Mon 16th Oct 2017):

Following the recent success of her work with full band The Common Threads, London-based Irish singer and songwriter Megan O’Neill has released her haunting new single ‘Why I Need You’, with the accompanying video out today. Co-written by Megan with Zak Lloyd, and recorded in Nashville earlier this year, this is the first track to be shared from a forthcoming solo album. Describing ‘Why I Need You’, she said “This is definitely the simplest song on the album with just piano and vocal but is quite possibly my favourite... I love how transparent the message is, how bare the track is. I think when you write a song like this with a clear, beautiful message you usually don’t need to build up the track any more than just an acoustic instrument and the vocal. The song is true to my life and about someone who is very important to me.”

Simply Stunning” - Graham Barnes

Facts Uncovered
Netherlands singer-songwriter Elske de Dewall is the co-writer of the title cut Brave. In London, she worked with Ben Earle and had a whole conversation about her struggle with writing songs, it was almost a kind of therapy. ‘Chasing The Impossible’ originated from that song and was actually about a true reflection of their conversation. BRAVE became the title of her album

Black and White was co-written by British actress (Twinnie-Lee Moore; best known for her role in the British soap opera Hollyoaks as Porsche McQueen from 2014 until 2015) and UK singer-songwriter Twinnie whilst she was with Universal Publishing. Twinnie started the country duet with Ben Earle and then she left. It then became The Shires!
