Americana rock newcomers Morganway release first single from forthcoming album

East Anglian rock/ Americana collective Morganway announce their first official single ‘Frozen In Our Time’ along with a selection of concerts and festivals across the UK. The single is a first listen at what to expect from their upcoming debut album, due summer 2019.

Founded by twin brothers Callum (vocals/guitar) and Kieran Morgan (lead guitar), and inspired by the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac and other classic guitar bands such as The Eagles, Morganway have quickly built a name for themselves on the UK live circuit. With accolades from Whispering Bob Harris, two nominations from the BCMA awards, support slots with The Shires and an Under The Apple Tree session already under their belt, there is no doubt Morganway are heading on a skyward trajectory.

The first single is a perfect introduction to their expansive sound and captivating harmonies that have been wowing audience members. It’s a journey through a musical landscape rarely visited in contemporary music, as the harmony of musicianship, arrangement and overall compatibility of a large group of performers meld flawlessly. As founding member Callum puts it, “I am the main songwriter, although each one of us plays a vital role in the overall sound and experience of Morganway.”

Release Date: 15 Feb. 2019

Label: Morganway

Total Length: 5:48
Genres: Rock

It’s a great single” – Pete Englefield Spectrum Internet Radio

It’s a sentiment that rings especially true when you consider the components that make up Morganway. As three and four piece harmonies complement a classic band set up with additional support from keyboard and fiddle, the 6-piece each bring their own divergent musical upbringings to the mix. Ensembles of this caliber provide something often thought to be a thing of the past, as the whole is most certainly greater than the sum of all parts. Together under the leadership of the Morgan brothers, Morganway stands as one of the most formidable live and studio acts of the past decade.

Standing beside Kieran and Callum Morgan are violin maker and former circus performer Nicole J Terry (fiddle/ vocals), longtime musical collaborator and lead vocalist on ‘Frozen In Our Time’ SJ Mortimer (vocals), part time DJ and genre-defying keyboard player Matt Brocklehurst, and rhythm keeper Ed Bullinger (drums).

Currently touring across the UK, Morganway play the following venues and festivals in 2019, with more dates to be announced.

Country Music Magazine premiere Morganway's “My Love Ain’t Gonna Save You” music video

(For Fans Of: The_Lumineers, Ryan Adams)
“Some songs are written exactly as they end up, others go on journeys.
‘My Love Ain’t Gonna Save You’ is definitely a traveller”
Country Music Magazine exclusively reveal new video for Brit Americana outfit Morganway

Morganway are introducing their distinctive take on alt-country with their brand new single ‘My Love Ain’t Gonna Save You’, which released February 3rd (Tagged Folk; UK iTunes).

Originating from North Norfolk’s rural outback, Morganway’s fiery, Americana-influenced style is packed full of powerful riffs, charismatic five-part harmonies and compelling, honest song writing. The band was established by twins Callum (acoustic guitar, lead vocals) and Kieran Morgan (lead guitar), and features Yve Mary B (lead vocals), Matt Brocklehurst (keyboard) and Simon Tinmouth (drums).

Other early 2017 shows include London gigs at The Troubadour, The Islington and The Bedford, as well as a special headline performance at Cambridge’s much loved Portland Arms.
Morganway are working towards the release of their second EP ‘The Hurricane EP’ on April 7th, following the glowing reception of their debut EP NO TOMORROWS (released July 29, 2016; iTunes) last year. The lead single ‘My Love Ain’t Gonna Save You’ exposes the band’s diversity with a deeper, grittier sound, whilst still maintaining the familiar roots influence that fans of the band have come to know and love. With its captivating, catchy hook and electric guitar-driven chorus, the band’s sound bends into the pop terrain breaking genre boundaries to craft an irresistible fusion sound.

“Some songs are written exactly as they end up, others go on journeys. ‘My Love Ain’t Gonna Save You’ is definitely a traveler. The guitar riff and main melody came first, other parts were gradually discovered. I really like the vocals at the end, so much is happening all at once it feels like it’s going to explode. I think the song is all about that tension. The lyrics leave room for interpretation, but the idea is simple; you’re on your own. It asks questions but gets no answers… a bit like love really!”
Tour Dates:
22nd March 2017 - The Bedford, London (77 Bedford Hill, Balham, SW12 9HD)
Saturday 22 April 2017 - The Portland Arms, Cambridge (129 Chesterton Road, CB4 3BA) Event
