Best Beauty ranged from big (big!) hair do’s to bright red lips as the country stars hit the 2013 ACM red carpet.
Guests at the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas ditched the plaid numbers, cowboy hats and blonde bouffants. Attendees instead opted for gorgeous couture numbers hot off the fashion runways. Taylor Swift shone in glittering gold and Carrie Underwood got bold covered in red floral.
There was some fashion no-nos included one superstar artist who turned back time for her dress and another ACM winning duo who looked like they were fans of True Blood and inspired by Dracula.

Ashley Monroe – The lovely “Like a Rose” singer-songwriter went with a retro look and channelled the '20s with her silver beaded gown, featuring a fringed skirt.
She chose a romantic bobby pinned updo with cascading, face-framing curls and opted for a bubble gum pink lip colour to give her red carpet pout a fun and flirty touch. She carried a simple gold Swarovski clutch with a crystal clasp to round off her elegant red carpet look at the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena
Beth Behrs – She attended the 2013 ACM Awards as a show presenter introducing Lady Antebellum. The ‘Two Broke Girls’ actress was pretty in neon pink, wearing a Monique Lhuillier Resort 2013 gown (Fashion Pic)
Her vivid-hued strapless lace gown was a bit Barbie-like with a central knee-high slit was styled with crystal drop Vram for Gray Gallery earrings and silver metallic Jimmy Choo ‘Fitch’ sandals, a shoe favoured by many celebs. Carrie Underwood – The ACM nominated singer and performer donned a Naeem Khan gown from the designer’s Resort 2013 collection (Fashion Pic) She left injured hockey player hubby Mike Fisher at home and brought her mom along and some might think she brought her mother’s curtains along as well. Was it more suited to a spring banquet on the 18th green at Augusta, but for the Masters rather than the ACM Awards? Did it camouflage the usually stunning well-dressed singer?
The Floral print on first sight looks a bit bold but as they say Roses Grow On You and this certainly those!
Carrie looked very nice in the peony-print strapless ball gown, adding a black gazar belt to give more definition at the waist.
The “Blown Away” singer’s hairstyle was a wavy updo but looked a little messy. Jimmy Choo Freya open-toe sandals,
David Yurman chandelier earrings, a David Yurman pinkie ring, and a black Jimmy Choo clutch (Image) completed her
Black lace: Carrie put in her usual energetic performance at the show changing into a black mini dress with matching gloves and a bright red lippie to perform her “Two Black Cadillacs” set amid smoke.
Cassadee Pope - The 2012 Season 3 winner of The Voice flaunted new highlights weaving them into an elegant side-braid. The Republic Nashville "Over You" #3 Hot Country Song and #1 Digital Country song singer was sparkly from her head to her toes with silver strappy sandals, featuring crystal embellishments.
Cassadee piled on four matching beaded bracelets in a cool gunmetal colour showed off her edgy side with a gunmetal sequined frock and wore neutral lip colour.

After a 5-year break it seems the Jacksonville, North Carolina singer is readying her music. Danielle chose a fit and flare mermaid gown with a ruffled skirt for her bright 2013 ACM look.
She showed off her piece-y curls and her hazel eyes were the centre of attention because of these long fluttery lashes. A peck would be nice as her pink lips added an extra pop of colour to her already colourful red carpet look and added the dazzle with a diamond bracelet.
Hillary Scott - Lady Antebellum’s pregnant leading lady was glowing on the red carpet, nominated for Vocal Group of the Year with band members Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley. She wore a custom A Pea in the Pod midnight-blue jersey dress that showed off her baby bump.
Her three-quarter-sleeved gown featured a beaded neckline and a low-cut neckline that played up her pregnancy curves. She opting for a pretty pink manicure, and carried a mother-of-pearl Kelly Wearstler ‘Fractured’ clutch with a foot clasp and wore a selection of jewels, including a serpent bracelet. Faith Hill – The 45-year old joined Tim McGraw for their Soul2Soul tour in Las Vegas last December, so she was in familiar Nevada territory. She there to accompany her hubby as well as be on hand as an ACM show presenter.

The singer styled the sexy lace dress with Christian Dior peep-toes from the Spring 2013 collection. These pumps are from the feature navy satin and mirrored pink patent leather cuff across the foot. Jana Kramer – The ACM new artist nominee went with a blinged-out gown on the red carpet at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Her gold beaded-and-crystallized embellished gown with fringe detailing and a tulle skirt looked heavy, but Jana pulls it off with ease. Her hair was pulled back into a wavy ponytail and she completed her look with flawless makeup and subtle gold jewels - Photo
Jaida Dreyer - The flagship Streamsound artist was slated to perform at the ACM EXPERIENCE, a free-to-the-public event, at the Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas as Nashville took over Sin City during April 5-7, 2013. The “Half Broke Horses” singer wore an elegant white floor length gown and kept in tune with the hair theme of the night with a big sky-high pompadour - Photo
Jewel - Classy in coral: The ACM performer stood out in a sequinned peach Georges Chakra Spring 2012 Couture strapless gown (less the iridescent lumissima train seen on fashion runways) with her long blonde hair tousled over one shoulder.

She looked gorgeous in the form-fitting dress not long it seems after delivering a baby and she showed off her curvaceous figure.
The back of the dress featured a change of pattern, which created an unexpected and unique twist to the design.

Kaley Cuoco - The ‘Big Bang Theory’ actress was there to present the Vocal Group of the Year with Jake Owen to Little Big Town. She wore a Max Azria Atelier halter gown with sheer panels which created a geometric design.
She had a figure-flattering look and her hair resembled a ‘Julianne Hough-esque’ style, which featured a spike bun with a high quiff. When questioned about it on the red carpet, she said “The higher the hair, the closer to God”. Kasey Musgraves – There as a presenter the 2013 ACM Nominee and “Merry Go’Round” singer wore an Alice + Olivia Spring 2013 white dress. The flirty wedding dress look was a bit frumpy in this barely off-white skirt - Photo
Her bouffant, centre-parted bangs with side-swept ponytail complimented the neckline. Kacey styled her look with an Anteprima crystal-embellished gold-wire clutch, two diamond-encrusted bracelets and nude pumps. Frosty pink lips rounded out her look.

Much attention has been focused on the four nominations handed out to Texas newcomer Kacey Musgraves, who, like Miranda Lambert before her, came to light as a contestant on the country music reality competition "Nashville Star" during its 2007 season, when she finished seventh.
Katie Armiger – The lovely "Better In a Black Dress" 21-year old singer on this occasion wore a gunmetal-coloured gown! Katie's long red waves were voluminous - Tres chic!

She played up the vibrant red tone of her hair with a deep ruby-pink pout and her long lashes gave the singer a glamorous touch. She wore pretty sparkly gunmetal sandals that had just a touch of Art Deco style and carried a simple black clutch to complement her “Fall Into Me” look x

Kimberly Perry – There to perform “Done” at the ACM’s the Band Perry‘s Kimberly Perry was the centrepiece of the trio’s red carpet fashion statement, and her Dior gown is as creative and daring as the group’s new music. Neil and Reid looked distinguished in a black Dior suit (Neil) and Ralph Lauren sport coat (Reid). The bassist’s hair is always a wild accessory to the group’s overall look.
From the neck up, Kimberly looked flawless from the neck down, well, that's debatable? TBP's front woman opted for a multilayer Christian Dior dress with a silver fish-scale bodice. The bottom half looked a little awkward but showed of her gorgeous shapely pins. The silver and white provided a striking modernistic look with the fishtail frock. Her long natural curls looked fabulous and she stuck to a subtle, light pink lip colour to keep her look soft and effortless. Whilst in Sin City the newcomer appeared at CMT’s Hot Dish Party with Nashville TV star Charles Esten and several other Titans attended the event that raises money for the Kevin Carter Foundation and the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Middle Tennessee.
Little Big Town - The band mates of Little Big Town arrived on the red carpet in coordinating looks. While Phillip Sweet and Jimi Westbrook opted for similar-hued ensembles, the gals' getups were vastly different.
Kimberly Schlapman showed off her figure wearing a Izmaylova sheer mesh panelling at the waist navy halter top paired with tuxedo-inspired pants. She matched her dress carrying a metallic blue patent leather clutch. She sported her trademark natural voluminous curls and went with a subtle natural look choosing a pale pink lip colour with a slight hint of a metallic sheen and brightened up her whole face with long false lashes.
Her LBT pal Karen Fairchild donned a black strapless knee-length dress adorned with tulle. She added a pop of colour to her look by wearing hot pink peep-toe pumps and carrying a cylinder-shaped satin clutch.
She opted for big, voluminous waves for the ACMs, which showed off her perfectly placed caramel highlights. She chose a barely-there pink lip gloss for her simple and chic red carpet beauty look.
Maggie Rose – The “Cut to Impress” singer wore a strapless of-white wedding dress with another peplum - Photo
What is a Peplum? It’s a frill that comes down from the waist of a garment over the hip, detached from what is underneath that lies on top gathered or as a pleated section of fabric. Peplums were big in the 1940's with a sort of revival in the 80's and the trend is making a comeback again. It’s to emphasis the sharp that's there already, sharpening up the bits to make the hips look bigger the whole look more cartoonish and strong. Works well with a pencil skirt to practically hide the tummy.
The former Universal Republic artist then known as Margaret Durante, before she moved to Emrose Records, piled on the bling when she opted for multiple chain-style diamond bracelets. Maggie opted for a metallic nude lipstick to keep her look sophisticated and natural. The quickest way to make your eyes look wide, brighter, and more awake? (Besides, getting sleep...) Was to do as Maggie did, the effect was instant! By using a light silver eye shadow in the inner corners of her eyes, it opened up her eyes and brightened her face.
Meghan Linsey – The “Can You Duet” Steel Magnolia singer went black and white when she chose a column-style Evening dress gown that featured a lace peplum top and straight skirt with just a touch of a train. The peplum gave an Alien-like situation downstairs? Another dress coming out of its stomach? - Photo
Meghan wore Nail Art with a different design for each nail.
After rehabilitation Linsey and the other halve of the duo Joshua Scott Jones decided to break their engagement but continue on as a music duo. Linsey was slated to in another relationship with musician/producer Tyler Cain.
Miranda Lambert – She didn't make a red carpet showing but she did have a few wardrobe changes throughout the ACM show. One number was a LBD that she paired with sheer, embellished super-sexy lace booties with a purple sole - Photo
Was Lambert’s absence from the red carpet a deliberate act of self-preservation? After all, one wrong move, one unexpected hug from an over-zealous fan, one enthusiastic wave… and everything could have tumbled out in full view of hundreds of paparazzi lenses! Her press room dress played a dangerous game.
Lambert turned heads wearing a black leather corset and fringed skirt to open the show with her husband and a group which included Sheryl Crow, Brad Paisley, and her all-female trio, Pistol Annies.
Lambert’s Ani & Ari is a custom corsetry company out of Nashville, TN. Each piece is hand made by Danielle and Ariel Tredway.
For Miranda’s solo ACM performance she wore a black minidress with all-over silver detailing to perform her hit "Mama's Broken Heart."
Michelle Stafford – Attending the awards as an ACM Vocal Duo of the Year presenter, the “Young and the Restless” actress chose an unusual green strapless gown, featuring a front slit and high low hem. She looked completely effortless showing off her auburn locks with a long wavy 'do. To top off her minimal makeup look, Michelle chose a nude lip gloss to add some shine to her pout. Her platform sandals gave the actress height and sparkle on the red carpet.
RaeLynn – Was it Country cute or just bawdy?
The former 18-year old "The Voice" contestant who finished third on Blake Shelton’s team on the second season wore an ivory-and-silver corseted strapless dress with a full skirt.
The “Boyfriend” Valory Music Group Baytown, Texan singer showed off her style signature with a carefully selected oversize red flower pin in her hair. Fittingly RaeLynn wore snakeskin cowboy boots but to make them red carpet-appropriate, she picked a sparkly, studded pair.
Racheal Lynn Woodward, better known as RaeLynn looked fun and flirty in the corset-style strapless dress and sparkled in a skinny diamond bracelet and opted for a bold red lip colour that had a touch of retro-glam and wore long luscious lashes.
Shania Twain – Was this a superhero outfit? Did she walk out of Jason Aldean‘s ’1994 video? Was this look age-appropriate?
The 47-year old Caesars Palace "Still The One" Vegas resident attended the ACM’s to present Entertainer of the Year to country crooner Luke Bryan. It had been 10 years since Twain since showed at the ACM’s but surely she must have updated her wardrobe or was she attempting to roll back to those “UP!” years.
Shania hit the red carpet and kept it simple with a youthful look wearing a back-baring, high-low minidress paired with over-the-knee kinky sky-high boots. She opted for big voluminous curls with a neutral gloss lippie.

The black body-hugging gown had a sheer cape that was embellished on her shoulders. She topped off her look with a jet black hair sky-high beehive. Shawna chose a subtle gloss to add some shine to her pout and a metallic silver eye shadow added depth and dimension to her look
Her dress sense actually worked mid-show when she and husband Keifer Thompson went to collect their award rather than the carpet bat look.
Sheryl Crow - She made a risky move when she wore a navy bustier with extreme wide '70s-inspired’ flared trousers - Photo Did they consume her legs?
She complemented her look with a stunning gold starburst necklace by Neil Lane and a tiny neutral clutch. Crow, 51, wore a nude lip and polished off her sophisticated look with a choppy layer 'do’ to show off her bright blonde tresses and showed off her perfectly toned arms in the corset-style jumpsuit. She had however joined The Pistol Annies for a pre-show naked spray tan party! The star was due to open the show, performing alongside co-host Blake.

Sunny Sweeney – The 36-year old “Drink Myself Single" singer chose an edgy corset dress with a cool snakeskin bodice and a fit and flare skirt. She showed how to make a long layered cut, with a single dark streak, red carpet-appropriate when she added a slight wave to her locks, flipping them both out and under for added texture. Her bright red lips added instant glamour to the look, the curls-and-red-lips combo ranged from classic to cool. Taylor Swift – The 23-year old country/pop star stunned on the MGM Grand Garden Arena red carpet wearing a Dolce & Gabbana sexy figure-hugging gown.
The fully embellished gold gown also features clear sequins and crystal embellishments around the neckline. Her sparkling gown, which features an open back, was styled with a simple ponytail, smouldering smoky eyes, and her signature red lip colour was traded in for a nude shade on this occasion.
Naeem Khan who dressed her country rival Carrie Underwood also dressed Taylor when the 2012 ‘ACM’s Entertainer of the Year’, took to the stage to perform with Tim McGraw and Keith Urban. The country trio sang McGraw’s ‘Highway Don’t Care’, with the beautiful singer sparkling once again wearing a gown from the designer’s Fall 2013 collection - Fashion Pic.
This perfect performance piece gown had a bodice which featured shimmering black crystals, with the tulip-shaped full skirt creating a lot of volume and drama. She kept the same makeup from the red carpet and not her signature red lip colour.

Related news: Taylor posed with cancer survivor Kevin McGuire backstage after her performance at the 2013 Academy of Country Music Awards. The “Begin Again” country singer invited Kevin to last year’s show after he asked her to be his prom date. Unfortunately, his health was bad at the time and he couldn’t make it, so this year the Academy flew his entire family to Vegas for the show!
Over the weekend, Taylor met up with the family to hang out and spend some time together. Then at the big show they met up again in their fancy clothes.

Tori Kelly – This singer/songwriter/producer greatest success to date is being a winner on the nationally broadcast America's Most Talented Kids show singing Christina Aguilera's Keep On Singin' My Song and won, beating out singer and accordionist, Hunter Hayes. She later auditioned for Season 9 of American Idol in Denver, Colorado and made it through to Hollywood week but did not reach the Top 24.

Colin Kaepernick – The ACM presenter and NFL quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers looked super snazzy in a two-button cream suit, which he paired with a stylish pink tie and wore Aviator Sunglasses
Dakota Bradley – Streamsound artist Dakota Bradley was in town to perform his first full band performance at the ACM EXPERIENCE, a free-to-the-public event, at the Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas during April 5-7, 2013.
He arrived in Nashville in his early teens and decided at a very young age that his dream in life is to be a Country musician and he would stop at nothing to achieve his goal. At 16, Bradley received heaps of attention after posting several performances on YouTube, leading up to a performance of his song “The Girl Is Mine” on The Ellen Show.
Dakota has some star power behind his new album and his new single. Country super-star Tim McGraw and Bryon Galimore co-produced Dakota’s album and personally gave the rising star “Something Like Something” which originally was going to be on Tim’s latest project. Dakota describes “Something Like Something as a “feel-good love song”, it comes out April 29th.

Duane and Beth Chapman – Unclear as to what and why Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman and wife Beth were doing at the ACM’s?
American reality A&E TV series “Dog the Bounty Hunter” chronicled Duane's adventures as a fugitive recovery agent, or bounty hunter. In May 2012 A&E cancelled the series after eight seasons, citing the popular phrase: "Every dog has its day".
But eyes were on the TV personalities on the red carpet, a striking pair!
