Now Available On All Streaming Platforms
Nashville,
TN (May 9, 2025) - Nashville recording artist Carrie Cunningham unveils
her powerful new single, "Mama Strings" — an emotionally rich
ballad that captures the unbreakable bond between mother and child while
honoring the strength it takes to rewrite the past.
With vivid, heart-tugging lyrics like 'these unbreakable connections to
your heart aren’t just little things, they’re my mama strings,' Cunningham
delivers a message of unconditional love, resilience, and hope.
“During a writing session with my co-writer Diann Hammer (‘Click’
from the 'Showgirl' album), we started comparing ‘war stories’ about how we
were raised,” says Cunningham. “We both had great examples of how not to
be as a parent. We were scared to have our own children—afraid we’d repeat the
cycle. ‘Mama Strings’ came from that vulnerable place of choosing to parent
differently, with love, strength, and intention. We hope the song resonates
with anyone who’s been brave enough to break the cycle of abuse.”
Early praise for the track has already begun to pour in:
“In a world filled with love songs and breakup ballads, Mama Strings stands
out as something more — a tribute to resilience, to generational healing, and
to the sacred, imperfect journey of motherhood. Carrie Cunningham doesn’t just
sing the song; she lives it. And in doing so, she invites listeners to reflect,
heal, and maybe even forgive — both their mothers and themselves.” —Nashville Socialite
"Acoustic guitar strings backdrop 'Mama Strings,' with Carrie
Cunningham's clear vocal delivery celebrating mother and child
connections, growing up, and offering a loving lifetime wish; a perfect song
debut for this Mother's Day Weekend." —Warren Kurtz, Goldmine Magazine
Produced
with the warmth and raw honesty that fans have come to expect from the
'Showgirl' singer, “Mama Strings” offers a deeply personal story that speaks
universally to parents and children alike.
About Carrie Cunningham:
“They say the neon lights are bright on Broadway, but that isn’t just
true for New York City. Nashville recording artist Carrie Cunningham has been
shining just as brightly with her Showgirl Series (Music City
Melodies)." Born in Nebraska, raised in the Northwest, and now based in
Nashville, Carrie has always been a bit of a nomad—driven by her love of the
road and a deep-rooted passion for music. Influenced by a wide range of genres
including country, jazz, classical, and Motown, Carrie “has a style all her
own, almost a musical chameleon” (Zetland Country, UK).
Inspired by powerhouse female artists like Miranda Lambert, Reba
McEntire, Barbara Mandrell, and Donna Summer, Carrie fell in
love with the stage and the thrill of live performance. A dynamic entertainer,
she consistently delivers unforgettable shows. She’s been called the “Next
Shania Twain” and, perhaps her favorite title, “Garth Brooks in a skirt.”
Carrie’s 2017 EP Let’s Dance was named one of the Top 10
Albums by Women of Country Music. Her latest album, 'Showgirl,'
was released in January 2021 with a new single unveiled each month. The project
quickly gained momentum, landing on nearly 40 playlists and accumulating close
to 400,000 streams to date.
Carrie has graced over 1,000 stages and shared them with more than 50
nationally touring artists. With several chart-topping hits in Europe and an
ever-growing global fan base, Carrie Cunningham continues to expand her
reach—and her impact—as an artist with heart, grit, and unstoppable drive.
