SARAH DARLING
It
has been confirmed that Sarah Darling
(USA) will be one of the headline acts taking to the stage during the upcoming
FSA Fest which will be taking place at the Newark Showground, Winthorpe, Newark
on between July 12th, 13th and 14th.
The
UK has fallen in love with her since she played the C2C2016 Festival and she
has returned for three successive years!
Following the release of her new single ‘Call
Me’ the
36-year old Des Moines, Iowa native and country singer-songwriter has just completed a
second UK headline tour previewing
songs from upcoming album WONDERLAND playing 8 dates in Glasgow
(Oran Mor), London (Bush Hall), Norwich (Arts Centre), Manchester (Deaf
Institute), Liverpool (Leaf), Bristol (Fleece), Brighton (Komedia) and Leeds (Brudenell
Social Club).,
On the back of her initial success and UK acclaim
she backed this up by returning with her great friend Jenn Bostic and Michael
Logan to tour in an "A Night In Nashville" (In The Round) guise
throughout May 2017.
In March 2018 she embarked on her first UK
headline tour (supporting guests included Katie Pruitt, Kiol, Emma Stevens) with
a full band, playing 12 dates in the UK & Ireland beginning at Union Chapel
Union in London (March 5) and rounded it out on 27 March 2018 at Colston Hall
in Bristol.
She has played the Sage Gateshead, Gateshead SummerTyne
Americana Festival in July
2018 with Sam
Palladio and Striking
Matches and appeared at the first Black Deer Festival (June 22 – June
24, 2018).
On Sunday
15 July 2018 she played the Barclaycard Presents British
Summer Time Hyde Park (Paul
Simon + Very Special Guests James Taylor & His All-Star Band) joining Bonnie
Raitt, Johnny Flynn & The Sussex Wit, Tom Chaplin, Ward
Thomas, Shawn Colvin and Callaghan on the bill.
She returned to the UK for the C2C
and SJM Concerts Presents Country Music Week Daytime Hub in October 2018
Sarah
Darling has announced that WONDERLAND, her 5th studio album, will
be released on June 7th 2019. The news is accompanied by the release of ‘Fire’,
an emotionally charged song written by Sarah, with Pete Hammerton (Kylie
Minogue, The Shires, James Morrison) and Shelly Poole (Ward Thomas, The
Wandering Hearts, Red Sky July).
“The whole concept ‘Wonderland’ was to explore a brand
new world artistically.” Continues
Sarah, “Because of my connection to the U.K., I thought ‘what better place
to bring my Nashville roots to be creative’. I think it’s good as an artist to
stretch the boundaries, because you are always growing and that’s how you find
new magic and move forward to wonderful, new places.”
Blurb: Playing piano and
guitar Callaghan delivers a stunning vocal which earns frequent comparisons
with artists like Sarah McLachlan and Emmylou Harris. Her songwriting
chronicles the stories, experiences and emotions which are part of everyone’s
lives.
Singer-songwriter Georgina Callaghan, originally from Lincolnshire
moved to the US from London in Summer 2010 to record and tour with Shawn Mullins (having connected via
Myspace) and signed to the ITB Agency a major international live music-booking
agency.
Her annual Callaghan Across America house show
tour, covered 13,000 miles, 20 states and 36 shows (See Video) and over 3 years she covered over 30,000
miles and more than 80 shows.
Her 12-track album LIFE IN
FULL COLOUR dropped 1 May 2012 which Grammy Award nominee Shawn Mullins
("Lullaby") produced.
Billboard: Callaghan
Revs Up New Concert Tour, Album (by Gary Trust March 31, 2015)…Two years after Billboard shined the
spotlight on Callaghan, thanks to her innovative, DIY mentality that served to
inform fellow indie artists, the affable and insightful artist discusses her
new album, her latest ambitious road trip itinerary and why house concerts
continue to be one of the most unique, and rewarding, ways for a performer to
grow a following.......
She played C2C Country To
Country 2015 Music Mile Pop Up Stage playing to a packed crowd! She was
invited back in 2016 to play Bob Harris’ curated Under The Apple Tree Stage in
Building Six.
Her album A HISTORY OF NOW
(April 12, 2015 | iTunes) included the Lincolnshire
lass’ debut UK single “Best Year” a confident song about
her arrival there. Brimming with optimism, it was a jaunty feel-good country
track from an artist who had sold more than 10,000 albums independently in the
States. She did it by relentless touring and racked up more than 50,000 miles
on the road every year.
It was named Record of the Day in the UK with Feb 15, 2015 impact
date.
BBC Radio 2’s Bob Harris
(OBE) became a big fan and she was featured in his BBC4 TV documentary looking
at the vibrant scene in the US, featuring many of the great new British acts
managing to gain a foothold in this powerful and very lucrative music genre. She
returned home to the UK for a full Spring tour and thoughtout 2015 played over
20 dates and was joined by Adam Wakeman on keys.
Following her hugely successful 2015 summer tour, a run of house
shows, headline slots and festival appearances including Secret Garden Party and Cambridge
Folk Festival she returned to the UK to promote her single, ‘When
You Loved Me’ and for another string of UK shows.
‘When You Loved Me’ taken from ‘History of Now’ followed the BBC
Radio 2 Playlisted ‘Best Year’ and ‘We Don’t Have To Change The World.’
Bob Harris (OBE) broadcast a recorded ‘Live in Session’ on
his BBC Radio 2 show (Graveyard Shift 3-6am on Sunday Oct 4, 2015)
She talked about working with Shawn Mullins, relocating to America.
She was joined by Adam Wakeman (keyboards) who she first met London some 15
years ago (when they were still in school)

“[Callaghan
is] changing the shape touring, if not music consumption entirely” BILLBOARD MAGAZINE
She has also played the Country
Collective at Canary Wharf with Ward Thomas and appeared at SummerTyne Americana Festival in July 2.017
In March 2017 Callaghan announced exciting plans to make a whole
year of new music launching another crowd fund Pledge Music Campaign (Release 3
new EPs over a year).
She recorded one POP 5-track EP called THE OTHER SIDE (released 30 Jun 2017; Green Town Music) in LA.
Throughout the year she wrote in LA, Nashville and London.
In Feb 2018 she shared her new 5 song POP record SKIN ON SKIN (2 March 2018). It included a couple of firsts for her. The
lead track Better Together had a brass section, and the last two tracks; Broken and All Through The Night,
both featured a full orchestra.
A collective 13 track POP set Callaghan (Green Town Music) dropped
31 Aug 2018.
She
has just announced via Facebook that she’s getting
ready to record her Acoustic Coffee House
Volume 2!

If You’ve Got “The Voice” Your On The FSA Bill!
FSA Festival chief Wayne Hadlow looks to have been dazzled by The Voice UK contestants with two acts
from this year Peter
Donegan and Remember Monday on the line up joined by Emma Jade who was chosen to join Sir Tom Jones' 2013
team (BBC Page).
PETER DONEGAN
Almost inevitably, Peter Donegan has been performing since
the age of five, given that the ‘Godfather of British Rock n Roll’, ‘King Of
Skiffle’, the late Lonnie Donegan, is his father. Lonnie inspired
every British Invasion band from The Beatles to Led Zeppelin. Even The White
Stripes’ Jack White cites Lonnie as one of his major influences. All this runs
through Peter’s veins and is clearly evident in his live performances, as well
as in the studio. Amongst Peters own admirers are Nora Guthrie (daughter of
seminal folk musician, Woody Guthrie) Crystal Gayle and Billy Bragg.
On June 21, 2017
he self-released 5-track EP SUPERMAN (Amazon UK - UK iTunes - CD Baby - Spotify; Current ranking Amazon
Bestsellers Rank: #23,377 in Albums) which reviewed 3
STARS out of 5 in July 2017 Issue of Country Music People (Spencer
Leigh)
The Voice UK, in
its 8th
series, returned to ITV screens for the 2019 series
with a host of artists hoping the judges will turn their
chairs. Peter Donegan turned Tom Jones chair on The Voice UK 2019 Blind
Auditions.
Sir Tom Jones (#TeamTom), in a magical twist, was impressed
enough by his tone and higher range to hit the big red button and turn as Lonnie's
widow Sharon shed a tear waiting in the wings whilst punching the air with
delight. This TV exposure sparked a massive renewed interest by country DJs
around the country.
On Wednesday
27th February Peter joined SJ Birds live from his home in London via Skype for
a one hour special on Redroad FM. Peter talked about growing up, his fathers
career and more importantly his own career.
The Voice
UK 2019, episode 1: Peter Donegan and Remember Monday get through Blind
Auditions
REMEMBER MONDAY
Remember Monday are
a country pop trio from the South East of England.
The all-female trio vocal Lauren
Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull and Charlotte Steele, formerly known as 'Houston',
get their inspiration from the likes of Alison Krauss, The Dixie Chicks and
Taylor Swift
They focus heavily on intricate
group harmonies whilst always showcasing their strong individual vocals! They
first met at college 7-years ago when they were 17.
The three young ladies who describe themselves
as a pop/country girlband have made the line-up of FSA Festival and
been on their local BBC radio station.
They were
thrilled to release their single, ‘Drive’ (Amazon UK - UK iTunes) , on Oct 19,
2018 produced by their manager Tim Prottey-Jones now
a former member of The Wandering Hearts. The single briefly peaked
at #1 UK Country iTunes Singles Chart (#176 UK iTunes
all-genres) and by Oct 21st quickly dropped to #21 (#1183 UK Singles
all-genres). They couldn’t wait to celebrate the release at a London venue as
renowned as The Troubadour. Maverick Magazine wrote: Up
and coming all-female trio Remember Monday marked the launch of their new
single Drive with a huge bang on 21 October, with a spellbinding performance
well beyond their years. The gig at the Troubadour in London, England, was
hosted by new specialist country music and Americana app CountryLine, and the
tiny venue was rammed full of people eager to see the trio in action”.
Ther
performed for the first time at the C2C
Country To Country Festival on March 9 & 10 playing the Icon Stage (13:40-14:05)
and Big Entrance Stage (Sun 10:30-11:00).
With their Monsoon skirts and matching fedoras, the Surrey
Pop/Country three-piece were one of the bands testing out the new rules on
The Voice UK by auditioning
as a trio.
Launching into a country-tinged, Dixie Chicks-esque rendition of Seal’s "Kiss from a Rose", rich with honeyed harmonies. All four coaches (Olly Murs, will.i.am, Jennifer Hudson and Sir Tom Jones) promoted turned for them and Jennifer Hudson even threw her shoe on-stage! They were successful in The
Battle Roundsand progressed to the Knock Out Rounds which aired on TV Sat 23
March when they performed their own original song ‘Jailbreaker’. One of 16
acts they now need the public Lifeline Vote (which closed Sat 11:30pm) for them to advance into the semi
finals.

EMMA JADE (GARBUTT):
As
an unsigned 19 year old country/pop artist from Doncaster she appeared as a
contestant on 'BBC The Voice UK' after being chosen to join Sir Tom
Jones' 2013 team (BBC Page) after performing a cover of Guns N' Roses'
"Sweet Child o' Mine" on Series 2 Episode 2 broadcast on 6 April
2013. Unfortunately Emma Jade left the competition at the third battle round
stages episode aired on 25 May,2013 pitched against Mike Ward (cousin
of British The X Factor series 2 winner Shayne Ward) performing Stevie Nicks'
song "Landslide" (also cut by The Dixie Chicks).
Emma somewhat faded away and didn’t
have the finances to produce some high-tech videos or record any music. She was
one of 27 names to appear on the Pop-Up Stages at C2C
Country to Country at The O2 in March 2014 – See Blog Post.
She came back strongly in 2018 with her excellent 4-track EP OLDER NOW (Amazon UK - UK iTunes) released on Fri Aug 19, 2018. It debuted at #5 on UK iTunes Country Albums and stayed top 10 on Sat Aug 11: #8 (#280 all-genres) before falling down the chart. It received 3.1/2 STARS in the September issue on Country Music People: actually sounds like a country singer, the production is sympathetic
KEZIA GILL
The Derby based Singer/Songwriter has been singing professionally
for over 10 years. She’s described as “A delicious mix of Irish and country
influence, her sound is completely unique”.
In 2018 saw her winning Female
Vocalist of the Year at the CCN Awards and she followed this up when voted PEOPLE’S
CHOICE AWARDS 2018 Best Solo at the 2018
BCMA Awards.
She played masses of gigs at Sports and Social Club and CMC’s from
February to November 2018.
She was part of the Buckle
& Boots Festival team that headed to Australia in January to play a
string of dates and was part of The International Showcase at Toyota Park,
featuring artists from USA, Canada, New Zealand and the UK during the Tamworth
Music Festival! She performed "They Fall"
and "Diane" (Cam cover).
Whilst down under (#BuckleandBootsDownUnder2019)
she won Aristocrat Entertainer Of The
Year (Website) the Entry Fee of $25.00 reaping a $2000 cash return!
On Jan 25, 2019 she released single “Thirties”
(Amazon UK - UK iTunes; Copper Music) which debuted at #42 on UK Country iTunes
Singles Chart (below #1500 UK iTunes all-genres) which peaked at #7 (#497 UK iTunes all-genres) and 2
days later fell below #1500 UK iTunes all-genres such is the general lack of
support and interest in digital downloads anymore.
She will play the Buckle & Boots Country
Music Festival taking place in Manchester on 24th to 26th May 2019 and has also
landed her first slot at the Blackthorn
Music Festival 19 – 21 July, 2019.
Kira Mac (aka
Rhiannon Hill) is an up and coming UK country singer/songwriter.
She has studied for BA Hons
Professional Musicianship at BIMM Manchester, has played at a number of
festivals after being invited to play and share the stage with huge UK country
music artists such as Gary Quinn and Ward Thomas.
She
released her first single (iTunes) on Nov
29, 2016 and her 4-track self-titled EP (iTunes) dropped
on Jan 31, 2017. She is “taking over the world one country song at a time”,
with the EP climbing to No.3 on the UK Country iTunes Chart
(UK iTunes all-genres #164 all genres). The single and EP had one of the
hottest cover artworks of the year!
“This EP from Kira Mac is a
fantastic debut. The singer has a brilliantly powerful voice and she really
isn’t afraid to use it, while the perfect glimpse of more classic country in
the middle suggests that this is a lady who could have all bases covered”
- Belles
and Gals.com
Her superb first single "Storm
on the Horizon"(Kira Mac/ Justin Johnson / Donna Marie), produced
by Justin Johnson (jroom3.co.uk), made a debut at No.1 on
the Hotdisc British & Irish Chart (chart dated Jan
15, 2017) and climbed to No.1 on Hotdisc Top 40 (chart dated Feb
5, 2017). Recorded and filmed at the prestigious Parr Street studios the video
aired on Keep It Country TV (Sky 389 and Freesat 516).
