Miranda Lambert stays at Number One on Billboard Country Chart
For the second week running Miranda Lambert’s Four The Record stays top of the Billoard Country Chart and stands at #11 overall on the Top 200. Yes releasing it on 1/11/11 seems like a clever ploy!
After the CMA Awards which acted as a reminder for viewers to pick up an album or download a single it was interesting to see just how much of a CMA bounce the artists got for appearing on the show.
After Scotty McCreery debutted with a 90 second version of “Walk In The Country” on the show, his country tally recieved a 4% sales bump.
Lady Antebellum’s Own The Night gained a 12% increase after their live band’s performance. They too were awarded a platinium certification for the album for shipments to retail of over 1,000,000 copies.
Jason Aldean whose album My Kinda Party gained Album of the Year has now sold over 2 million copies.
The Band Perry with three CMA awards saw their album haul rise with a 112% sales increase over the previous week.
Luke Bryan who performed Country Girl (Shake It For Me) from his Tailgates & Tanlines album got a 34% sales increase over the previous week whilst Eric Church and Chief jumped back into the Top 10 at #8 with a 67% sales increase.
CMA Presenter on the night Lauren Alaina and who will sing on the CMA Country Christmas program, remained in the Top 10 with her debut Wildflower now having sold 136,000 copies.
Brad Paisley too with This Is Country Music gained a 57% sales tally over the previous week to net a grand total of 535,000 albums sold so far.
Joe Nichols with his new album It’s All Good landed on the SoundScan chart at #70 this week with 7,000 fans taking it home.
Kenny Chesney’s Hemingway’s Whiskey scored a 54% sales increase over last week with the hit single “You And Tequila” performed with Grace Potter gaining Video of the Year.
Sara Evans who performed on CMA night scored a 52% sales increase for her 308,000 copies-sold Stronger album, it moved up 6 places to #30.
Thompson Square’s self-titled album gained a whooping 96% sales increase after their show performance of #1 hit “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not” (the single is Platinum).
Rascal Flatts debuted at 32 with "The Best of Rascal Flatts Live."
CMA Vocal Duo once again Sugarland made big moves from 49 to 33 with "The Incredible Machine"
Josh Gracin debuted at 39 with "Redemption."
