Jake Owen has broken many ladies hearts as he is now officially off the market. The 30-year country singer proposed to his girlfriend, model Lacey Buchanan Saturday night (April 7) while performing at his annual charity event in his Vero Beach, Fla. hometown. (Photo - J. Owen popped the question to his lady love in quite the romantic fashion. While singing ‘Don’t Think I Can’t Love You,’ he asked Buchanan to marry him, and of course she accepted. The proposal was spur-of-the-moment. “You’re probably wondering where your ring is, right?’” Jake teased Lacey.
Afterwards Jake tweeted: 'I'm a happy man. Life is complete.'The couple met on the set of Owen's 2009 video “Eight Second Ride”, which tells the story of meeting a woman in a bar, then taking her out to his pickup truck. “Lacey is the answer to all of my prayers,” says Jake. “She is an amazing person and I’m the luckiest guy in the world.” “When I was on stage, it just hit me how many of our family members (Lacey is also a Florida native) and friends were at the show,” reflects Jake. “So, I thought sharing that moment would mean a lot to everyone.”

Jesse Keith Whitley the son of Lorrie Morgan and the late Keith Whitley, has tied the knot to Ashlee Hewitt. The couple said "I do" on March 10 in Lancaster, Minn.; the bride is a native of Lancaster.
Also a musician, Ashlee was a contestant on the sixth season of Nashville Star, but was eliminated after seven weeks on the show. She comes from a large family and was raised on a horse ranch; a true country girl. The couple met while Ashlee was a backup singer for Lorrie Morgan and Jesse was touring with his mother (tour photo – tour photo) after the release of his debut album, KENTUCKY THUNDER. The newlyweds have been living in Minnesota but are looking for a house near Nashville.

Billy Ray Cyrus’ mother, Ruth Ann Castro is in critical care after being admitted to the hospital over the EASTER holiday. In a Tweet on Sunday April 8th, Billy Ray wrote, “Please say a prayer for my Mom RUTHIE. She is in critical care at the hospital this morning”
Hunter Hayes, Martina McBride and Jake Owen are the latest names to be added to the performance lineup for the nightly concerts at LP FIELD during the CMA Music Festival in NASHVILLE from JUNE 7th through 10th. It will be Hunter’s first performance at LP FIELD during CMA Music Festival. ACM and CMA Vocal Group of the Year Lady Antebellum has officially sold over 750,000 tickets at the halfway point of their OWN THE NIGHT WORLD TOUR.
Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw rocket onto Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart, as "Feel Like a Rock Star" debuts at No. 13. In its first week of availability, the song received airplay on 126 of the chart's 131 reporting stations, generating an audience of 22 million, according to Nielsen BDS. The start marks the second-highest since BDS-monitored data began powering the chart the week of Jan. 20, 1990. "Rock Star" additionally arrives as the highest-bowing duet between two co-lead artists in the chart's BDS-era history, besting the No. 31 starts of Brad Paisley and Urban's "Start a Band" the week of Sept. 27, 2008, and Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett's "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" (June 21, 2003). Both songs eventually reached No. 1.

Grammy, CMA and ACM Award-winner Keith Urban was invited to join the Grand Ole Opry on Tuesday evening April 10, 2012 by Opry member Vince Gill along with fellow members Rascal Flatts, Diamond Rio and Oak Ridge Boys during Urban’s “All For The Hall” benefit at Bridgestone Arena.
New Zealand-born and Australian-raised Urban will be the first artist from outside North America to become an Opry member. Keith Urban will formally be inducted into the Opry on Sat., April 21.
Near the end of the nights show, Gill called Rascal Flatts back out on stage to bring a gift for Urban. As Urban opened a large black duffel bag revealing the Opry’s signature microphone stand, Vince said, “We would like to invite Keith Urban to be the next member of the Grand Ole Opry!” Urban covered his face in surprise as he began, “I don’t know what to say – but first, YES! Thank you very much to everybody at the Grand Ole Opry who made this possible. I’m shocked. How beautiful for this to happen tonight of all nights.”
“I will always remember the first time I played the Opry,” Urban continued, “seeing this stand and standing in the circle was an extraordinarily surreal moment. So this right here is just a whole other stratosphere! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Country music legend Randy Travis, who was arrested earlier this year on a public intoxication charge in Texas, is facing more legal troubles — this time in the form of a lawsuit filed by his ex-wife’s management company. Ex-wife Elizabeth Travis, who managed Randy Travis’ career for nearly 30 years, claims the singer had a “large truck, an armed guard and several other men” invade her office on Music Row. “The mass of items taken before [Elizabeth Travis] could even go through them included computers with work in progress, files, business records, framed record plaques and photographs hanging on the walls,” the lawsuit claims.
According to the complaint, Randy Travis entered into a management agreement with Elizabeth Travis on March 29, 2011, five months after they divorced. On August 8, 2011, Randy Travis stated that he wanted out of the contract and “caused his attorneys to purport to terminate the Agreement,” according to the lawsuit. The truck, armed guard and men showed up a day later.
The lawsuit — filed last week in Davidson County Chancery Court — calls Randy Travis’ actions “intentional, malicious, reckless and oppressive” which “constituted a breach of the duty of good faith and fair dealings implied in all Tennessee contracts.”

For those of you paying attention, that's 4/20 and the unveiling will take place at 4:20 p.m. local time in a nod to Willie's fondness for marijuana .According to RollingStone.com, Willie will actually be on hand for the unveiling. He'll be in town to perform at the We Walk the Line tribute show to Johnny Cash that night in the Texas capitol.
Kellie Pickler has been married to her husband Kyle Jacobs for more than a year now, and they aren't adding to the family any time soon. It seems Kellie and Kyle are still in the honeymoon phase of their marriage and aren't ready to share each other with anyone else just yet.Kellie tells Us magazine, "I'm young. Upcoming 24-year old country artist Bri Bagwell has signed an exclusive booking representation deal with William Morris Endeavor Entertainment (WME). Agent Henry Glascock will represent Bagwell.
“Seeing my name on WME’s roster next to artists like Miranda Lambert and Reba is a dream come true,” said Bagwell.
A native of Las Cruces, NM, Bagwell has made an impact in the Texas music scene, recently sharing the stage with artists such as Miranda Lambert, Eli Young Band, Josh Abbott Band, and Pat Green.
In June 2011, shortly after departing from the set of the inaugural season of CMT’s Next Superstar, Bagwell released her debut album, Banned from Santa Fe.
Recently, she teamed up with Texas whiskey maker, Rebecca Creek Distillery, to promote her single “Whiskey.”
The video for the single will premiere at a hometown performance at the Rio Grande Theater in Las Cruces on April 21.
When that girl told Carrie it was all because of going vegan, Carrie decided to give it a shot. As a result, Carrie has discovered she had some issues with eating dairy products. She explains, "My reflex has gotten a lot better and things like that, and I think it was 'cause of dairy." Going vegan has led Carrie to make healthier eating choices like forgoing that cheesy pasta when she eats out. She's not sure if she'll stick with the diet long term though. It is rumoured that The Band Perry has hired A-list producer - Rick Rubin to do their sophomore album ? The sibling trio recently met with Rick Rubin, who is famous for his work with Johnny Cash, the Dixie Chicks, Red Hot Chili Peppers and many other big acts. Lead singer Kimberly Perry tells TheBoot.com, "He's really brilliant. He was really fantastic. We took a meeting with him a couple of weeks ago. He was basically half-therapist, half-producer. So we're excited." Kimberly did not spill if Rubin is actually producing the new album though.
“The three of us have spent a lot of time both at home in the mountains over in East Tennessee writing and have begun to dip our toes in the water in the Nashville studios recording and we’re absolutely in love with where the project is headed so far,” she says. While the album is still taking shape, the one thing Kimberly says the three of them have pledged to do is to have “Every line that we write and sing to be 100% true and honest. And I really feel like that’s one thing we always try to do in The Band Perry.” She says, “We want our music to be soundtracks not only for the three of us and what we’re living and the stories that we’re living every day, but soundtracks for you guys as well. And we’re writing honestly. I feel like we’re a couple years older than we were the last go around and that’s reflected both in our melody and in our music.”

Trisha Yearwood’s in the studio working on a new record. She says a duet album with Garth may happen in 2014. Garth has said that he and Trisha will probably hit the road again for a big tour in 2014. That's when the youngest daughter in their family heads off to college - "That would be the time to release a duet album because if you're touring together and you can actually sing the songs together onstage, that would make the most sense," Trisha tells ABC News Radio.
In the meantime, fans can see Trisha making regular appearances onstage with Garth at his one-man show at the Wynn Las Vegas. This marks the first time the couple has worked together onstage for an extended period of time.
Trisha comes out towards the end of most shows, and she says, "I'm like shiny quarter, and people go crazy and it's fun. So, I get that little moment of getting to go out and shine, and then I'm done."

TY: Definitely! As much as I enjoy the cookbooks and this show, I miss music. I’m in the middle of making a new records. I was working on it when my mom
got sick,so I put everything on the back burner. Then I felt like I was ready to get back in there. Depending on all the factors, I would love to see something out by the end of next year or the first of the following year

Alan Jackson will release his highly anticipated new album, THIRTY MILES WEST, on June 5. It will be his debut project for ACR (Alan’s Country Records)/EMI Records Nashville and is produced by long-time producer and friend Keith Stegall. The unique album name references where he grew up.
“There’s this highway that’s been in existence for forever now – it’s called the Dixie Highway and it runs from north of Michigan all the way down to South Florida,” he said. “I wrote a song about it that’s on the album. I grew up on Highway 34 outside of Newnan, Georgia, and that’s where we came up with Thirty Miles West. I think we were about thirty miles west of the official part of the Dixie Highway that runs through Georgia.”
On June 5, 2012, Nonesuch Records will release the new Shawn Colvin album, ALL FALL DOWN. A collection of 11 songs, Colvin’s eighth studio album and the first to be produced by her longtime friend and cohort Buddy Miller (Robert Plant, Solomon Burke). Recorded in Nashville, with a group of stellar musicians, All Fall Down features performances by Alison Krauss, Emmylou Harris, Jakob Dylan, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Bill Frisell, Viktor Krauss, Brian Blade, Stuart Duncan, and Julie Miller, among others. The new album was recorded in Miller’s home studio, and each song is deeply personal to Colvin, who describes All Fall Down as "an album about loss but also about redemption and resolution." The release of ALL FALL DOWN comes on the same date as William Morrow/HarperCollins publishes her memoir, DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH, which insightfully and candidly looks back over a rich lifetime of highs and lows. The wit, lyricism, and empathy found in the book are traits that have long characterized Colvin’s songwriting and her live performances.
Colvin wrote or co-wrote eight of the album’s 11 tracks.
Spotlight: Sarah Darling's 'Blackbird' Soars ( Chuck Dauphin (Nashville April 04, 2012)
During February's Country Radio Seminar, there was a very loud buzz around Music City concerning Sarah Darling. Currently in the studio wrapping up a new album, the year has been filled with one career highlight after the other for the Iowa native, and she's grateful for each step along the way. "There have been so many great things that have happened in the past year," the singer told Billboard.
"It's all been so incredible." Everything kind of started with the video for "Something to Do With Your Hands," which received maximum exposure on many video channels. "Then, after that, I partnered up with the Crock-Pot brand, and that was an incredible way to stay out there, as well," she admits. But, she says the thing she is most excited about is who is behind the board of her upcoming album for Black River Entertainment, due later this year: Dann Huff.
"It's an exciting time," she said. "We're working on the record right now."
Though the release of the first single from her new album is a few weeks away, she currently can be heard on radio stations performing the Beatles' classic "Blackbird." The track was from the Let Us In Nashville -- A Tribute to Linda McCartney charity album, which was released last November. Though not intended for airplay, the singer says that several stations have jumped on the song.
SIDEWALK RECORDS, the imprint that was originally started by Mike Curb in 1963, has originally been re-launched as the new Nashville ‘sister’ imprint to CURB. The first artist to be released on the SIDEWALK label will be Heidi Newfield.

(Indianapolis, Ind. April 12, 2012) – The stage collapse at the Indiana State Fair which resulted in the deaths of seven people was partly because the stage was not constructed strong enough to meet state building codes. Engineering firm Thornton Tomasetti released its findings to the Indiana State Fair Commission on Thursday. The company was hired to evaluate the tragedy which occurred August 13, 2011 as fans eagerly awaited a concert by country group SUGARLAND.
Scott Nacheman with Thornton Tomasetti told the commission the metal stage rigging did not meet requirements that it withstand wind gusts of 68 MPH.
Winds reached about 59 MPH when the stage gave way. Nacheman said that Greenfield-based Mid-America Sound, the company hired to build the stage, refused to provide information or interviews for the report.
Another firm, Washington-based Witt Associates, was hired by the state fair commission to investigate the human error leading up to the collapse.The Associated Press reports Witt Associates’ review of the fair’s emergency plans determined that "an ambiguity of authority" resulted in confusion and uncertainty as officials discussed whether to postpone the concert.
The fair’s overall state of preparedness was not adequate for an event of its size and scope, the review said.
Jennifer Nettles Gives State Fair Deposition (Charleston, W.V. April 13, 2012) - Sugarland lead singer Jennifer Nettles answered some of the questions posed to her in her deposition about the Indiana State Fair stage collapse, but not all.
Attorney Carl Brizzi, who represents some of the victims, told WISH-TV in Indianapolis that Thursday’s civil lawsuit deposition was tense and tedious at times, with Nettles being instructed by her legal team to not respond to some inquiries. Nettles reportedly testified she was unaware she had any right to postpone or cancel the August concert due to the severe weather that blew over the stage rigging.
Sugarland issued a statement following the deposition.
“In all the back-and-forth between the lawyers, the suggestion’s been made that we’ve somehow been trying to avoid having to answer questions about last summer’s terrible tragedy,” the statement read. “This is simply not true.” The band vowed to be “as honest and open as we can” because they want all the facts to be known to the victims and their families.
“There is no one who wants to get to the bottom of what happened more than we do, which is why we’re ready, willing, and able to give these depositions today and tomorrow,” the band said.
Bandmate Kristian Bush will undergo his deposition Friday.
Seven people were killed and dozens more were hurt in the August 13, 2011 incident.

Troubled singer Mindy McCready and her boyfriend music producer David Wilson have welcomed her second son Zayne into the world on Monday April 9th just months after kidnapping her first child. She thought that she was having twins, but trouble music star Mindy McCreedy has given birth to one son. The birth announcement was made on Thursday when the 36-year-old said: - 'Zayne is truly a blessing and a joy,' said in a statement to People magazine. 'It was a long and trying pregnancy; we’re so happy he’s here. There are no words to convey how happy we are.' The couple said they initially thought that Mindy was pregnant twins due to her size.
'At the time of the initial announcement surrounding Mindy’s pregnancy, in consideration of her size, Mindy was certain she was carrying twins,' her representation told E! News. 'A misinterpreted sonogram seemed to support her feelings and excitement.”
Mindy has a six-year-old, Zander, with her ex Billy McKnight.
Her parents are already legal guardians to Zander.
Last November, McCready (who has battled substance abuse addictions) took her elder son from the care of her parents — his legal guardians — and fled Florida with the boy.

Justin Bieber revealed to Capital FM on the Vodafone Big Top 40 that his new album has a bit of a country vibe to it and has penned a song with Taylor Swift for his upcoming third album BELIEVE. "You know, the whole album is just so different, there's so many different people collaborating," Justin revealed on Sunday (8th April). ...."It's crazy," Justin explained. 'I mean I even wrote a song with Taylor Swift, so the whole album ranges differently. When asked whether Taylor's involvement hints at a country musical direction for 'Believe', the 'Mistletoe' singer said the record won't be limited to just one genre.

European fans and dance clubs organized the massive flash mob, set to the tune of the new Bellamy, Ötzi tune, “Like A Star.” The flash mob was heavily promoted internationally throughout Europe via Facebook and Twitter.
The end result was thousands upon thousands of Bellamy Brothers and D.J. Ötzi fans (all stationed in public locations in Berlin, Zurich and Vienna), boot scootin’ in perfect sequence to the new hit song featured on the recently released, D.J. “We were in Berlin rehearsing for a television performance when we heard about the mob,” says David Bellamy. “We drove over and were in complete awe of how many people were singing and dancing to ‘Like A Star’ in perfect sequence.”
Howard Bellamy notes, “The coolest part of the flash mob was that it was happening not only where we were in Berlin but also in Switzerland and Austria at the exact same time. We were told we set some sort of world record but we’re still waiting on specifics.”

Willie Nelson performs Pearl Jam's gentle ballad 'Just Breathe' from "HEROES", the eagerly-awaited album of new songs and re-imagined classics performed by Willie Nelson, America’s legendary outlaw country music avatar, is out Tuesday May 15th.
Nelson performs the song as a duet with his son Lukas. The arrangement doesn't stray far from Pearl Jam's original recording on 2009's Backspacer, but Nelson adds a touch of harmonica and a light country twang to the meditative folk pop tune.
